Hi all. Today's the big day. We had terrible travel experience, hoping that will be better on the way home. Waiting for Cecy to pick me up in San Diego this morning we got in so late we had to get a room here to get some rest. I will update as soon as I am feeling like it. Thanks for all the prayers and warm wishes.

Hey everybody! I have been sleeved for 48 hours now and am not feeling so great. Very nauseaus' date=' a good amount of pain and very uncomfortable. Am I alone in this? Seems like everyone else is having such an easy time and good recovery.[/quote']Hi pdog. Everyone's experience is unique. I hope this passes quickly for you. Be sure and talk to your doctors and hopefully they can get the nausea and pain under controll. I will say a prayer for you right now!

Sending up prayers for all tomorrow's sleevers! Best of luck to you all, and continued prayers for those already sleeved.

So happy that we are getting almost completely good reports for those already sleeved! Other than dealing with pain and uncomfortable periods everyone seems to be doing very well! I hope we hear from all the others soon. I am continuing to pray for those already done and those up next!
I start my travels Wednesday, first to meet up with my mom and Thursday on the plane. All the reports are making me feel better. I know there will be times after surgery that will be hard, but it's going to be worth it to prolong our lives and live life more fully!
Thank you all for being here it means so much to share the same experience with others. While family and friends are understanding and supportive they have no idea what we are all experiencing.

Hey all! Well i messed up a bit yesterday and ate probably more than i should. I was up .6 from my last weigh in check (7/15) so today i drank only shakes. and i had 2 SF jello's . I ordered banana Protein (muscle milk light) and it came today....its really good. SO i have this in addition to my choc and vanilla...i also got the nectar samples. I tried the caribbean cooler ...its OKAY. not horrible...but not something i'd crave lol.So- QOTD- what protein powders have you tried' date=' what will you use after surgery?[/quote']
Well I have not tried too many as of yet, whey protein vanilla from Wally world. I have only had it in a smoothie. I also ordered the nectar as well as the matrix sample. I have only tried one the latte, it too was ok. But I think it would be good mixed in an instant coffee with a splash of Torani sugar free Syrup.< /p>

QOTD- what diets have you tried before eventually deciding on the sleeve??? Did any of them work for you??
I think. Have pretty much tried it all: Atkins, weight watchers, Jenny Craig, nutrisystem, LA weigh loss, prescription meds, slim fast, Kellogg's, just exercise, diabetic diets, low carbs, counting calories, starving myself.....this list could just go on and on. I was most successful at weight watchers, I always lose weight as long as I keep going and stay focused and strict.

QOTD: Do you have any major award planned for yourself along the way down the scale or at the end?Yes new boobies! but only if I get to goal
Wow that is a tough question. I am thinking a girlfriends cruise will be a must. On a more personal note I have been telling myself for several years that I want to climb my mountain and gain control over all my issues that have held me back for so long. So a symbol would be to successfully climb Mt Leconte. There is a primitive lodge at the top so you can spend the night. But the only way to get to the too is to scale the mountain.

Question of the day answer: I too used to enjoy running. I know I will have to start out walking but hopefully the weight loss will allow me to run again! Looking forward to doing all the things that my body was meant to do.

Well I have already begun my cutting out carbs, no fried foods, removing sweets, coming off caffeine and diet sodas....preparing for my semi liquid diet which starts July 26th. So I have already had "my last meal". My absolute favorite restaurant is carrabbas and my favorite dish is Pasta carrabba. It was so yummy I spread it out to make two meals, yumminess lasted longer.

Oh wow perhaps it depends on the medicines you are taking then. You may want to call the doctor and find out. Rather be safe than sorry. That's what I would recommend, I am sure different meds affect different things depending on what is in them.
-
Did your Dr. tell you to stop taking your meds when you start your pre op diet? (since they are pills and not liquid)Hi mom23.
My surgeon had me discontinue all meds 1 month prior to surgery. But should I get a Migraine he is allowing me to treat them up to two weeks before surgery. But nothing after that.
It can be very scary.

I don't mind at all! It is what it is' date=' ya know!

Thanks a bunch!

I too started to go caffeine free. today was much better than yesterday. got all my Water in. 1 medium diet coke in morning and one glass sweet tea tonight. Peed constantly. I think this is the biggest challenge in preparing for the surgery. I have also ran out in the middle of the night for a soda and ALWAYS immediately stopped to get a drink once in the car. LIke cigarettes to others i guess. hoping once my system is clean i loose the craving all together. But nothing sets my morning up like a tall cold glass of fizzy soda. I will miss you DC!
I totally get you!

Hi all. I was sleeved yesterday. I have had an overall great experience. Very little pain, however the gas was the worst part. I have been up walking several times and the gas is getting better and better. I would recommend Dr Kelly to anyone. He and his staff are great. The staff here at the Oasis of florence hospitals are great too. Just wanted to let you all know. Congratulations to my other August 10th sleever brothers and sisters. Ttys!
