Whats The Workout To Loose Weight Faster?

I really think you have to exercise accordingly to your weight and health. At my weight you are not going to find me running laps around the corner or jogging up the block. I also have servere arthritis and one hip replaced so I am a tad bit limited. However, this does not mean I can't physically move around. I can walk back in forth in a swimming pool, float and paddle my legs on a board, mostly anything with water aerobics. I can stretch with my neat stretch band. I also have a machine called the gazelle edge that I glide myself as if I am sking in air (no impact). Even when I clean house, mopping, scrubbing, laundry, I am moving around. Its a start.....
  2. Considering the best reward will be the weight loss and goals. While I haven't given it a thought yet because I am not banded, however I know this sounds ridiculous, but I always wanted a leather jacket. I could own one if I want, but at my weight honestly I never thought I would look good in one. I don't want a long one, I want a short one hopefully one that will show off my weight loss and accentuate my figure. Great question, and loved all the answers

    Anyone Getting Banded In July?

July 25th here! Yes, I am anxious and nervous all at the same time! I start my pre-op very soon. Doctors orders are 1 protein shake replaced by a meal. Than 2 small lower calorie meals during the day, around 1200 calories. The day before I can eat up till 1pm and that is it. I feel awful for the ones that have to do strict liquids only, but as it goes every surgeon is different and you have to listen to your doctor. My guessing is that my surgeon doesn't want any starvation up to surgery because of the fear of people may want to not do the full liquids once they are banded. So, hopefully I will be fine the 2 weeks on full liquids after surgery because I would have eatened food up till 1pm the day before. Maybe there is method to his madness, I don't know...LOL Best of Luck to all the July Bandsters!!!! Oh, and keep us posted on your progress
  4. Hang in there, it happens to everyone...... I am horrible when I get sick because when I am I usually wound up not eatting, then as soon as I start feelng better I eat everything that isn't nailed down. You did the right thing, going back to basics...

    Band Not Working

You need to sit down and track everything you are eatting, I mean every little thing. Bring it to the nutrionist so they can help you. I remember when I joined weight watchers back in the day and I would barely eat because I wanted to lose weight fast. Well, that didnt work. I needed to put healthy fats into my diet. If you omit most foods from your diet you will have nothing to burn. Remember fuel burns. This could be by adding a tablespoon of Peanut Butter, lite mayo, lite dressing. etc. Measure measure measure. Too much will add up to empty calories, and you don't want that. Believe me I use to drown my food in ketchup and you would be surprised all the sugar and calories I was adding to my food. Get in some healthy nuts, such as walnuts, pecans, brazil, almonds. These are the best healthiest nuts for you that have healthy fat. Go easy, remember just a handful (20 almonds equal 1 ounce of nuts) You can google how many nuts are in an ounce to see how many your are able to have. Oh, guacamole is also an excellent fat that is very healthy, just make sure you measure. Whole wheat only, that includes breads and pastas, rice. sugar free should be your best friend now, but watch the calories they add up. You will become a pro on reading lables. Hang in there, it will happen whatever you do DON'T GIVE UP!!!!!

    Drinking

This is my biggest worry because I am not banded yet and normally drink over a gallon of water a day. On hot days like today I might drink more. I don't drink anything else, not even coffee or tea. The only other thing I drink is 8 ounces of almond milk with my cereal or oatmeal. I am trying to learn to take small sips now, but honestly I have a hard time. Even when I take my pills I drown it down with a about an 8 ounce glass of water, oy!!! I have to keep trying harder!!!

    You Don't Need Surgery...

I have loste tons of weight half of my life. I was also very close to my goal at one time even. Now, with my right hip replaced and my left on its way out, I need help. I think part of it honestly was denial that I could do this on my own and I really believed that I could. I am much older and I can barely move with my severe arthritis. I need the help and I do believe this is my last shot at living a healthier lifestyle. Only a few people know of my surgery and I plan on keeping it that way. When the time comes and the weight loss is noticible and asked about it. I will kindly just say "thanks, I am watching"... and keep it moving
  9. I had a tentative date for surgery originally June 13, however my insurance company due to 'clerical' errors sent a letter of denial for my surgery. Its straightened out and I am scheduled for surgery on July 25th. I want to thank you all for always commenting on my posts, all the wonderful emails. Especially to Mis73, she has been my main backbone of support on here and without her I would have probably fell to pieces throughout this entire process. Thanks Missy, you are truly a blessing! I have everything ready for my surgery, (I am litterally stocked)! I will continue to read on, comment, etc on this site because I need the support and hope I can return the support and love back. Okay, hello to all my July Bandsters!!!! -Patty

    Best Scar Cream?

I knew someone who had major surgery (full tummy tuck & breast lift) her surgeon recommended Bio-oil and she swore by it. It cost about $11 on Walmart.com. Now, when I had my hip replaced I have about a 6 inch scar and I swore by Perlier Almond milk lotion. That ran me about $25. I think like the other poster said is to keep yourself moisturized, hydrated and smoothing it out would work. Good luck. PS: Here is the link to walmart with the oil: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Nailene-W-Purcellin-Oil-Bio-Oil-2-fl-oz/10317326?ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=10317326&sourceid=1500000000000007346330&veh=cse

    Pizza

Thats a great idea and I love pita bread, thanks!
  16. Hi Everyone, I have told you about the Protein Blitz Protein drinks that are non chalky and clear. I have got my order in last night and today I tried it. I have to say this is by far the best tasting Protein Drink I had since purchasing sooooo many (chalky ones) that I have a hard time getting them down with the after taste and leaving my stomache feeling horrible. Its been over 4 hours since I drank Protein Blitz (grape flavored) and I feel good. If I have to describe what it taste like, I would say a grape flavored sugar free ice pop!. Okay, cost- for a dozen 20 ounce bottles if you go to the Vitamin Shoppe website they charge $32.00 for the case (free shipping). If you go to the Protein Blitz website you are going to pay a hevty $47.88 a case. So worth it buying these if you can't get down those chalky Protein shakes. Tast great over ice, and someone suggested they make ice pops out of these. Packed with 30 grams of protein each bottle!!! I am going to order more they come in fruit punch and grape flavors. I took a few pics so you can see how clear the drink is (I served this over ice) Enjoy ... Product Label New from the Makers of Designer whey 30g of Protein 1g Carbs 0g Fat Protein Enhanced Beverage Grip it Good&Grape™ 7.8g BCAAs Lactose Free 100% Unique - US Patent Pending - America's #1 Protein
