Donna, I have no clue I was stating what the person above said, maybe its something given to them by the hospital or doctors. I don't know, but if you have acid reflux any antacid blocker should work just fine. I have tried prevacid by my doctor and it didn't work. Zantac works better for me, I buy the generic Walgreens brand Wal-zan and I have the same symptoms as you. It won't hurt giving it a try.. Let us know, -Patty

Donna, I was wondering the same about the reflux. Try the somac or some other antacid blocker to see if that helps. This may just be your cure. Let us know, -Patty

Uhc Waived The 6 Month Waiting Period
PattyGirl66 replied to TexasJeff's topic in Insurance & Financing
I have UHC and I had to do the 6 month restricted process. They also screwed me over by making a clerical error which 'delayed' my initial surgery of June 13th, took them a month to get it straightened out. I am scheduled for surgery Wednesday, July 25th. -
I found these recipes while doing a search for mushy foods after lap band surgery... They all sound great and I know I will be trying these too! Lowfat ricotta with a little spaghetti sauce and a sprinkle of parmesan cheese. Put in the microwave and heat it up. It's like Lasagna without the noodles. fat free refried Beans with a little shredded low fat cheddar cheese, add a packet of Taco Bell taco sauce (can be mild or medium I wouldn't do the hot yet!) - tastes just like Taco Bell beans and cheese! cottage cheese mixed with sugar free Jellies, such as strawberry, apricot, etc..

Anyone Getting Banded In July?

Motivated, everyone says a heating pad can help. Keep taking the gas x strips and try and walk (don't over do it with the walking) your still healing. Hang in there girlie -
yea, I think its important to eat a variety of food so we don't get bored of eatting the same things over and over again. Believe me I am on a hunt. Oh, a good friend of mine on here says she mixes tuna with babybel light soft cheese. I will be trying that as well, so far I got several recipes on hand...

Carolina, that is a good question, can't wait to hear some of the responds. I am not banded yet so I have no clue what size band I will have until surgery is done. I am wondering maybe the surgeons measure the diameter of the stomache then deciding on which size band to use. I am just taking a guess on this one, so don't quote me. If thats the case, I maybe getting a larger size band too which I wouldn't have a problem with as long as they put the right one in me, LOLOLOL.

I personally don't drink coffee or teas. However, when I go out to dine with my meal I enjoy seltzer with lemon. I will miss that tremendously. It will be water with lemon or lime or maybe decaf tea with lemon when I am out dining. I don't drink caffienated beverages I am already a wired up person, LOL

When the weight loss is noticible and people that don't know start to ask, I will politely say " thanks I am watching what I eat". It will be the truth!

from what I read- Carbanation can 'inflate' your pouch therefore stretching it. I believe some have said as long as its 'flat' you can drink it. As far as the coffee is concerned I think early on you should lay off of it because the 'caffiene' inside the coffee acts as a natural diruetic and you can lose Fluid, which you know you shouldn't lose during the early stages, thus possibly causing dehydration. However, I think eventually you can drink it as I have seen reading on the threads. If you are unsure, ask your surgeon or nutrionist ... I am just stating somethings I have read on here... Best of luck to you

Motivated, its normal to have these feeling and even strange dreams. Remember why you are doing this. I think what happens is that people around us are afraid of changes. Once they see how happy and healthy you've become they will start to come around and be more supportive. Sending good vibes and prayers your way for your surgery tomorrow. Keep us posted on your progress, you have lots of support here (((hugs))) -Patty -
according to Dr. Oz (I love him) the liver will shrink by losing 4-7% of body weight. Those are very good numbers in my book

Hello Muelle, I have weak ankles probably due to my large weight I am always falling all over the place. I can't wear sandals in the summer because of no ankle support. My entire closet is stacked with sneakers. If I wear shoes it has to be a strap around my ankle. At my weight, I need not only comfort but support and stability and the only walking sneaker that does this for me is Skechers. Not to mention they are very fashionable. I buy all my Skechers Sneakers on line at www.shoebuy.com You will be surprised how affordable they are, FREE shipping always and sometimes you can find a coupon code that makes the deal even sweeter. I find tons of online coupon codes at www.retailmenot.com Best of luck...
