    My biggest regret

You need to keep on your surgeon all the time. Don't feel like you are being a pain or inconvience to him/her because this is your body you are talking about. If you don't correct what is happening to you now, things will only get worse from here, such as band slips, erosions, etc. When you are vomiting, your body is telling you something is wrong. You immediately call your surgeon. Don't sit back and let things happen itself or wait, do it now! When you say you can eat bad foods, what does this mean? are you talking about foods that are considered 'sliders'. such as icecream, cakes, pies, chocolate, milkshakes? Its obvious that little 2cc in your band is too much, you would be surprised what a relief you will have to have some of that removed. Can I ask were you eating 'healthy' before you had a fill?? Don't let another day go by, there is no reason in the world to suffer like that.....

    Toning exercises

Great question! and its very important to start toning up/exercising. Stretching is excellent! Besides my regular workout, I have incorporated stretching/toning daily into my routine. One includes using a pair of 2 lb weights, very very important for strengthing your bones/body, for upper body workout. Next, I use a 4 handle stretching band. This increasing muscle tone and upper body strengthining as well. It looks like this, I believe i spent about 12 bucks for it. I really like it a lot. Dumbells, you can find these anywhere, they are cheap. Get a pair, they perfect for upper body toning/strengthing
  4. As you all know I am still out to find a Protein drink/shake that I can tolerate without feeling sick. There are too many to count what I bought, this is just another attempt to get in more protein. I ordered more drinks and protein candy bars, just waiting for them to come in through the mail, and I will post results once they arrived and I have tested them. I found these at walmart.com site on sale. This is a 4 pack, creamy chocolate - It taste very good chilled, I just drank it so I am waiting to see how I feel later on. I will posts once I get all the Protein Bars in as well. I like the fact its got a great amount of protein and is super low carb/calories. Its also packed with nutrients, another plus. I am not following the slim fast diet, this is just for a source of protein and will be used with a meal or as a replacement. See pictures below....

Slim Fast, Low Carb Protein Drink

My husband means well, but from now on we will leave buying Protein anything for me. One day he strolled in with a candy bar and said here I found this for you to eat, looks like it has some protein in it. I almost fell on the floor it was so funny....

Slim Fast, Low Carb Protein Drink

I can only speak of my personal experiences with the lapband. Best decision I have ever made in my life! I am only 5 months out and already almost down 90 lbs. This has changed my life so much from where I was months ago. My band is empty (no fill), but I still have restriction. You will read from others their experiences are very similar to eachother, some a little different. But at the end of the day we all have one thing in common, that is the band. It will work for you, you will learn so much about yourself and your band as you progress. Remembering the band is a tool, but if you help this tool it will help you to acheive your goals. Any specific questions, ask away......

Slim Fast, Low Carb Protein Drink

You are going to do great! the best thing about the band is that it really works, but you have to help it to! so important why we all must listen to our bodies of what it wants, needs. I need more calories and Protein, so I am working on that. Very important to get in as much nutrients as you can. As you can see by many of out tickers we are all successful on having lapband surgery. Keep on this site, you will be so happy you did because there is nothing better than support. We are all here for you.....

Slim Fast, Low Carb Protein Drink

Hi Floridays, I am such the odd duck when it comes to the band. That is why I have to work harder at this. My calories are too low, my Protein not there yet. I can eat most of my food early part of the day, as the day goes on I am too full to put anything in my belly. Thats why as soon as I wake up I eat as much as I can. My band is the opposite as the rest, I get tighter as the day goes on, lose when I am up. (so odd). Because my calories are low, (800 a day) my surgeon feels a Protein Drink would be beneficial for me, not only for calories, but for the protein as well. Now that I am exercising more now, I am super low on calories at the end of the day. Its just not enough! If I can get just one protein drink a day, I will be okay. I ordered low carb protein bars, i am waiting for them to come in the mail to test them out. Thank you for the list, I do eat many things on that list, especially eggs I eat egg whites every day. I actually enjoy eating them. See, where most people can't tolerate eggs, I can LOLOL BTW, my surgeon only wants his patients 'eating' their Proteins, not drinking them too! but because I am 'special' we are trying to figure things out to get all my nutrients in.

Carb Cycling- An Experiment Gone Right!

Nope, unless I stall... I am however watching my carb intake daily. I so far noticed I am pretty good with keeping it at 40 and below grams a per day. Seems to be working for me so far. I have increased my exercise level too. I know once I lose more weight I will need to adjust it again, but for now its working and I am completely satisfied. As they say, the show must go on...............LOL

    Home Exercise

Donna, you are going to love this machine!!!

    Home Exercise

OHH it held allll of me, well over 300 of me...... difference now, I can fly on it a whole lot longer and faster. My heart beat has increased, my workout is much more intense now than when I first started. I also have found other ways to workout with this machine, it really is the best workout I think, especially since i have severe arthritis in my left hip, my right hip was placed many years ago due to arthritis.

pre op diet how hard was it?

Hi Erin, its the fear of the unknown that concerns you. it would be just to say the same as 'I don't know if having weight loss surgery will work". We fear because of all the attempts we have made in the past to try and lose weight in the first place, and failed. Moving forward, you must think positive! Like, I CAN DO THIS! I HAVE TO DO THIS! I WANT TO DO THIS! I NEED TO DO THIS! Being on the pre-op diet is not the end of the world, heck I was afraid I wasn't going to survive either, but guess what I did! I did because I had the fear of the unknown too! You can do this! Stay strong, think positive, and most importantly YOU HAVE TO WANT IT! (hugs)

    My list of NSV's!

Not being embarassed at the register when the cashier rings up my pants and then proceeds to hold them out for the whole world to see as they fold them OMG! I can't tell you how embarrassing that is, and the underwear too!! I can't wait for that NSV! I want to scream, just throw them in the bag woman!!! LOLOLOL

    Silly NSV.....

Okay, this is really silly as in my topic title so don't laugh --- You know those stupid seats where you have to get your blood work done (the ones with the arm/handle that goes across your body? Okay I fit into it now,and the arm went right across with NOOO problem at all. I kept looking around the edges, back and forth, and the girl taking my blood work said to me "is everything okay", I was like OHHH Yea! I can fit into this damn chair now ... haaahaaaa ahh, she didn't get it, but I hope you all do!!!!

    silly success yet again...

CG, I know this may sound crazy, but I found something that works for me when putting pantyhose on, I take a little bit of hand/body lotion and rub a little on my legs and on my hands and the pantyhose seem to slip up nicely withouth getting snagged or having that lovely 'electric' shock ... Yes take off the rings before putting the hoses on, I had ripped so many in my day .. Congrats on your NSV!!!

To Baby or NOT to Baby

My pamphlet instructions from my bariatric surgeon said not to get pregnant for a year! Oh dear lord, I can't imagine getting pregnant at 49. I am already a grandmother to a almost 7 year old, LOLOLOLOL. You want my old opinion sweety- enjoy your new life being banded first, enjoy your new marriage, enjoy eachother 'first' ... take it from someone who got pregnant as a 'teenager' and missed out!!!
