  1. I can't speak directly for you, but my doctor told me to call him ASAP if I had any numbness or pain in my legs at all. I'd say get it checked out just in case
  2. Maybe I am eating too much or too fast as well...I ate 1 egg (my first time) today and it came right up. It didn't make me feel sick, but my mouth started to Water and I know what that means, time to worship the porcelain god smh! I also tried to eat about 2 tbsp of pureed tuna and I'm feeling the same way but trying to keep it down. I ate twice as much of the same tuna yesterday and was fine. I'm getting so frustrated...

Tasty Tuesday! (What Did You Eat Today?)

Today I had some Tortilla soup from J. Alexanders. It was great and I have another serving left for tomorrow. I am still on a full liquid diet (until thursday) but my sleeve seems to be able to handle a lot of things only 3-4 weeks out. I have nibbled on a few things :behindsofa: that I wasn't supposed to and surprised how well I can handle it.
  4. Yes!!! This makes me so happy (sad I know lol)! At least I know i won't have to feel deprived from my fave food.
  5. I did! I don't even think about eating. Though it's only been 3 weeks, I hope it stays this way. I must admit, I tasted a bit of cream potatoes and it kind of triggered a little something, like made me want to eat more of them since they went down so well, but I didn't.

    Using Straws

I was given straws in the hospital and they don't effect me. No extra air comes in my stomach, well except for the one time I pulled my straw out of my shake and tried to suck the remnants out lol.
  8. My main incision had a pinkish clear liquid coming out of it last week (surgery was on 12/21) I was really nervous called my doc and the nurse told me not to worry about it, that it was normal. I don't know if I believe that so much. The steri strips are still on there but it looked like it opened a bit. Now beside it, it is really sore, hopefully that's just trauma from the stomach being pulled out.
  9. My main incision (where the stomach was removed) had a little bit of leakage. It's all dry now, but is there anything I should do? The steri strips are still on 3 of my incisions including the one that had a teeny bit of leakage.
  10. Hey everyone! I went to my 1 week post op appt yesterday and I am already down 9lbs! I was also progressed to a full liquid diet being that I wasn't getting in my Protein with the nectar protein packs (yucky!) So now of course I can have the chocolate/vanilla shakes for protein but what else did you all drink on your full liquid diet? I'm not much of a sweet eater, I like more savory things so I guess Soups? But what else? We have a cheese and broccoli Soup, can I have that if strained? I'd love to hear your advice!
  11. Good Luck! Everything will be fine!
  12. When drinking chicken broth I keep the straw in my mouth mostly the entire time and sip continuously. I can get it down in about 10-15 mins, no problem. Yesterday I had a cream Soup that I diluted quite a bit down to a loose gravy consistency and I did notice that I could not continuously sip, I had to take the straw out of my mouth for about 10 seconds and then continue. When you all eat the cream soups do you dilute them? I don't see much of a difference between the cream soup (diluted) and the broth as far as going down with ease. Of course with the Protein shake it takes a little longer just because I don't like the taste and I don't like sweets :-/

    Pain... For How Long?

I'm not sure! I had my surgery exactly one week ago and I didn't have any pain at all but now I am noticing a bit more soreness on my largest incision (where the stomach was removed). As you said, nothing excruciating but it is sore. It could be because I've been trying to sleep on my side lately.
  15. Thank you and Good luck with your surgery!!
  16. I am 5 days post op and still on clear liquids. I just ate a popsicle and realized that it was not sugar free, what will happen to me? Is this horrible?
  17. Thanks everybody!! I didn't feel sick but I was kind of scared that it would do something to the healing process. I'm glad everything is good. This site is great for EVERYTHING LOL.
  18. I need suggestions for this too. I can not stand the smell or taste of the Nectar Fuzzy Navel. I am on clear liquids and my surgeon told me not to worry about my protein too much (5 days post op) and just worry about my liquid intake. I'm thinking once I get on full liquids I can try the chocolate Atkins drinks which I like pre-op.
  19. So can i! I am 4 days post op and can drink pretty normal.
  20. Hey guys! I just wanted to check in with everyone, I had my surgery wednesday at 9am and stayed in the hospital until saturday at 7am ( Had to stay an extra day because my surgeon is a stickler about the 640z -__-). Everything went very well! This was my first time ever being in the hospital so I was a nervous wreck! When I came out of surgery I didn't have any nausea, pain, gas, or anything which is truly a blessing! I was very tired, but that is expected. I am walking around fine, just afraid to stand up completely straight because of the pull on one of my incisions, it doesn't hurt, I just don't like the discomfort, but I deal with it ( I know, I'm a wuss lol). Walking up and down the stairs in my house isn't hard for me either, I actually like the steps better than regular walking for some reason. All in all I am doing well, getting my liquids down is a nuisance but that's only because I wasn't a big drinker before surgery. I don't have any issues swallowing or keeping anything down (I am still on clear liquids). I hope this encourages some of you future sleevers because I was TERRIFIED at the whole thought of surgery and I made it through perfectly fine! I'm excited for my new journey P.S. I don't remember my starting weight but I go back in on Tuesday for my week check up and will update you all with stats. Pss...What I wouldn't give for a cheesy Dorito!!!! Not a bag, just one, but oh well lol.
  21. Thanks so much Kathy! I am definitely proud of myself and I feel very blessed not to have had any type of pain or gas! Thank you for you encouraging words! 58 is not old btw, lol Merry Christmas to you!!
  22. Hey guys! So I went through with it and got sleeved yesterday at 9am. So far no pain, no gas or anything!! Thank you for your prayers because I know they helped! I feel good, just sleepy. I will update you all soon, BCole
  23. I am definitely starting to get cold feet as my surgery date gets near 12/21. I'm 24 years old and I weigh 275 lbs. I don't hate my body right now and I am healthy, but I am tired of being over weight. I have tried many diets before and have failed so I know I can't really lose the weight on my own, however I don't have low self-esteem because of my weight and am quite fond of the way I look. The rational part of me says, "nip it in the bud, before you have health issues" and the other part of me is thinking about regretting this permanent decision. I don't want to end up hating myself and my body because of this transformation and maybe even coming out worse :-/. I have been an emotional wreck for the past week and I just don't know what I should do. I know most of this is nervousness as this will be my first surgery, but I really do need some advice from you all. I know many say it was worth it in the end, but for someone who has absolutely no health issues, will I still feel like I've done the right thing? I've been wanting this for a long time (I started off wanting the band when I was 16) and now that I have the opportunity I feel blessed, but I just don't want to regret this. I would love to hear your opinions, though I know no one can make this decision for me, I just need someone to let me know if this is normal for me to feel this way.
  24. Thank you so much! I am familiar with Dr. Houston, he was my surgeon at the beginning of this journey before I switched over to Dr. Olsen. Hopefully we will run in to each other at one of the support groups
  25. Hi guys! My surgery is scheduled for this Wednesday 12/21 with Dr. Olsen in Nashville
