    Diet Pills

oh also, you're supposed to take the shots for a couple months and then go off of them for a couple months so your body doesn't get immune to then. I didn't do this and that was probably another reason for the weight gain.

    Diet Pills

I did the HCG shots a year before surgery (prescribed by a doctor) and I ended up losing 40-50 lbs. I also ended up gaining that back and then some but it was because I didn't stick to the diet. I think its the diet and the shots that work. It's hard to explain but you ate more than 500 calories but with the protein added in it was like that's all your body would count because it takes more calories to burn protein. Sorry if this sounds confusing but that's the best way I can think to describe it. I would talk to your doc before taking this and I would only do the injections if they're prescribed by a licensed physician.
  4. Hey guys, hope all my fellow sleevers are doing great! I have a question though... This is week 5 for me and my dietitian wants to bump my calories to 1000-1300. I've been eating between 500-600 calories for the last couple of weeks and anything over 800 seems like a lot to me. I've been getting in enough protein with the amount of calories I eat now and I'm worried if I bump them up too much that it will either slow down my weight loss or end it completely. I seem to be over obsessive with food and my scale so maybe I'm looking into this too much... Please let me know how many calories you're getting in daily and how far out you are; any advice would help. Thanks and many blessings!

Weight Loss After 4 Weeks Of Vsg

Hi Rico, I just noticed your amazing weight loss and was wondering how you managed it. Any advice on the food/exercise you did would be great! good luck to everyone (:
  6. thanks everyone for the replies and encouraging words. sleeve of steel, when did you have your surgery?
  7. "I know there are sleevers out there that can and do eat that many calories a day and that works for them but my sleeve is small and he said "hell no, we wont go" to more than about 800 calories a day at 7 months out. Im sure I could eat 1300 calories of junk slider food, chips and candy bars but thats not why we got sleeved, right? Just my 2 cents." ^^^^^ Love this Forensikchic haha. You're right, I'm not going to push it and just eat the amount that my sleeve is comfortable with. Thanks so much for the advice
  8. Thanks LilMissDiva, you always have such encouraging words on here (:

    Heprin Injections

I had the same reaction. I went to my PCP and she said to just put hydrocortisone cream on the spots 2X daily. They should go away within 1-2 weeks

    2/6 Sleevers Check In

heyyy sleeve buddies! just checking in (: so far so good, my new stomach is amazing. im on the pureed diet right now and so happy to be off the liquids. hope everyone is doing great and cant wait for more updates!
  13. my doctor has me in stages -- week 1- liquid; week 2- pureed; week 3-4- soft food; week 5- solid. as far as the pureed week, they said to only eat 2oz (pureed food) 3X daily and drink your high protein drinks in between meals. they want me to get in at least 70g of protein and at least 48 oz or more of liquid daily. hope this helps and good luck!
  14. hope everythings ok... sending healing thoughts your way!
  15. hey guys! just wanted to do a quick check in and see how everyone is holding up. i was discharged yesterday and i'm feeling much muchhhhh better. my first couple of days in the hospital were not so great, mainly because of the meds, but after they were switched i started to feel somewhat normal. hope everyone's doing great and sending prayers your way! :biggrin5:

    Surgery On Monday!

RTD - ready to drink. I bought mine off of bodybuilder.com because that was the cheapest site I could find it on. You have to buy a case but you might want to go to a local GNC store and try one to see if you like the taste

    Support

I'm not sure if you're talking about mental or physical support but if you're talking about mental i'd recommend counseling. I'm a huge binge eater and I overcame bulimia a couple years ago but I don't think I could do this surgery without counseling. I know some people think that you're a "crazy" person if you do this but I think its just another tool to help you with weight loss. Most people are over weight because they have an eating addiction so why would you not take care of the problem that's causing the addiction; which is your brain. Hope this helps and good luck on your journey. :smile1:
  19. If you're sleeved on the 6th then we'll be sleeve buddies! Good luck on your journey and I hope all goes well. Blessings!

  21. One week from today I will officially be a member on the "loser bench." I've already lost 11lbs on my pre-op diet and can't wait to see how much weight I'll lose by my surgery day. I go in at 5:15 AM and am scheduled for surgery at 7:30 AM on 2/6/12. The nerves are starting to hit but I know I can do this! Any last advice that will help with my success afterwards and possibly things I will/should bring to the hospital? Thanks everyone for all the support; I absolutely love this site
