  1. When I was in Mexico getting my WL surgery, I met your friends brother. He is now a she and prefers to be called Raffelle..............and BTW..............His / Her teeth look GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!................LOL
  2. Of course there is a "negative attitude".............You just look a big chunk of change out of the guy's pocket!..............LOL At Dr. Ortiz's office they give you a number of doctor's who will do your fills.
  3. I had mine done in Mexico by Dr. Ortiz. Best medical care I have ever had..............should send a few Ont doctors down there for training............LOL Working well for me. If you are addicted to sweets or drink a two four a day.............It won't work but if portion control is your problem, as it was mine.............it is a life saving tool!
  4. Ontario here.............What do you need to know?
  5. After you follow the other forum members advice, the only good advice I can add is..........chew your food to the consistancy of applesauce............This helped me........BUT........you have to get things turned around.........so listen to those that have "fought the battle and WON"
  6. Well Done! Keep at ..................you are an inspriration to

  8. I have heard good things about them both. I tried to put a deal together with both of them but they wouldn't bend on their price so I went to Mexico and saved $10,000. If money is not a probem I'm sure you'll be happy with them.
  9. Everyone Might Not Be As Stupid As Me But Here Is What Happened:- I asked for and got an extra 1 CC for my second fill. The reason is, the first 3 CC's I got after my operation gave me "restriction" for about 2 weeks then subsided. I thought 2 extra CCs would do it (even though the PA didn't agree). I couldn't keep anything down, so I went back for an "unfill". Sooooooooooooo.............When they say "1 CC".............listen to them! The more fills you have the less it takes...........A Lesson Learned!
  10. Hi Tom, I asked the owner of the site that question because I own a BB as well. Looks like the BB may be going the way of the Dodo bird because this site and I think I read Netflix as well, will not be deveopling anything for BB. Congrats on your weight loss! Regards, Colin
  11. Hey Alex, What about us poor BlackBerry users????? Colin
  12. I have the REALIZE BAND............and I was told either one could have been used...........depending what the Surgeon found when he was "in there"..............LOL
  13. I self paid as well and saved $10k by going to Mexico...................Best medical treatment I have ever had!
  14. I had mine done by Dr. Ortiz and it was as smoooooth as glass! I was led to beleive that, depending on the patient, Ortiz would use one band or the other but I may be wrong because I have the REALIZE - C band. If I remember correctly he said he would make his decision once he got a look at things (whatever that means........LOL)
  15. No complications...............the next day
  16. I had my first fill today as well and I can hardly get anything down! So far I am happy because before my fill I could eat more than before I had the surgery. I think it affects different people in different ways. Let things settle down a bit and listen to the experienced "bandsters" on this forum. I did, so I am not worried. If it continues............I'll get them to let some air out.............LOL
  17. Pam, The facility I had my done in gave me about 10 names of doctors who do fills for their patiences within an hour or two drive from where I live. Addionally, there was a company called FILLS USA (or something like it) whose doctors will do your fills, even though the company is no longer in existence. Colin
  18. It is a lot cheaper ($10k less than here, in Canada) and yes, US doctors will do the fills etc for cash. Anywhere from $50 to $150 per fill.
  19. Glad everything went well! The worst part in my experience was, the cramped flight down, everything else was A1!
  20. I wouldn't worry about choosing the Band over other proceedures because the Band is so non-invasive that you can still go for something else down the road. Congrats on taking the rights steps!

  22. I had it when I started eating "solid" foods. One night I had to knock myself out with Tyenol 3s to get to sleep.............LOL I agree with the previous posters...........chew..........chew.........chew
  23. I had my surgery at the OCC and if I remember correctly, they give you lots of stuff for pain and gas. I think most people have more problems with gas than pain, because the incisions are so small.
  24. Dr. Ortiz's operation is as safe as safe can be! You are "cocooned" from the time they pick you up in San Diego untill they drop you back off at the airport. I have seen more crime here at home (and I'm from CANADA) then I did when I was in Mexico.
