My First Lapband Fill

Hey guys,

I went to have my first lapband fill on Friday, December 9th, 2011 and when I went they could not fill my band.. they tried about 20 times and finally send me down for an x-ray. After viewing the x-ray they found out that my port became tilted up towards my rib cage and said that I may need surgery if my surgeon could not get to it. Finally on Monday, December 12th, 2011 my surgeon numbed the area and was able to give me about 4cc to start the process of fillling my band. My question about this is why do I feel the same way i did before i had it filled? I still get hungry and I feel like i'm eating alot.. like for example yesterday I had 3 eggwhites w/ munster cheese for Breakfast, 4 pieces of low salt turkey breast for lunch and a baked potato for dinner. I didn't think I could eat the whole potato and I did. Do you think there is something wrong with my fill? I'm so confused because I don't know how I should feel.

It may take several more fills to have maximum restriction. People seldom hit their 'sweet spot' on their first fill.

It's going to be up to you just how much you eat, even after you have your last fill. You'll always be able to eat

past your band. How much you lose is pretty much up to you, the band only makes it easier to feel full and hopefully

not eat too much. No miricles here, just hard work. With practice, it gets much easier.

My first fill was 4cc's also. NOTHING! as a matter of fact, I gained a few lbs before my second fill.

first fill today.... nervous..eeeepp! Lost 23 lbs post op alone. Thinking I dont even need one! haha

I had my first fill today as well and I can hardly get anything down! So far I am happy because before my fill I could eat more than before I had the surgery.

I think it affects different people in different ways. Let things settle down a bit and listen to the experienced "bandsters" on this forum. I did, so I am not worried. If it continues............I'll get them to let some air out.............LOL
