    One Year 92 Lbs

Let me say this. To all those who have been banded a while back, to those who are recently banded and those who are going to be banded in the future...You should all be proud of where you are at. It's amazing (seriously).

    Psych Eval

i feel there should be no reason for me to lose the 100-110lbs. I figured I'd lose 50-60lbs in the first year. I don't know if he was testing me to see if all I lose is 50-60 in the first year that if I'd be happy with that because the remaining about takes longer and I might give up..or if he wanted to see if I should go another route. I'd never get gastric bypass or the sleeve...ever. If my surgeon offered the band with plication I MIGHT consider it, but not likely.

    Confused

So during my psych eval the psych doctor said the most I would most likely lose would be 50-60lbs on the band. I weigh 265 and i am 5'10". and he also asked if i would be fine if i weighed 200lbs because statistics show the most i would lose was between 50 and 60 lbs. thoughts?
  4. My insurance pays 85% of the procedure but how I figured it out it was around 2000 after they pay what they pay. I have an FSA that will cover that amount.

    New Guy Here

Good luck on your journey! I like a few of the others was required to go on a diet for the past six months. I cut my calorie intake down to around 1600 calories. I had some surgery to fix my deviated septum and they removed my uvula, etc...I lost 20 lbs from that surgery and then gained 5-7lbs back from that. But even lowering my calories to 1600 and walking 5 days a week for 30+ minutes hasn't helped me at all. I look forward to getting banded. I have a two year old son I need to live a long life for (and a wonderful wife as well).

    Hey New At This

I'm getting banded around the first half of June 2012. I'm 5'10" and weigh 265. I have an education class to attend May 2, 2012 and my psych appointment is in the morning. I've heard that men tend to lose weight quicker than women. I guess we'll see how I do.
  8. I don't see anything wrong with what you've all eaten. You are doing just fine! Remember it has a lot to do with how much you are eating!
  9. my wife has described a similar feeling. You'll get through this frustration. The band works. I believe in ya!

    Hi I'm New!!

I consider myself new here. I should be getting the band in June 2012. I have an education class on May 2, 2012. I've already had the six months of required doctor's visits. I have a psych eval on April 18, 2012. So I'm guessing as long as my insurance moves swiftly (which my case manager says they do). I'm looking at the first half of June 2012 to be banded. Thankfully I have good insurance and I have a fsa to assist in paying for the rest of what the insurance won't pay. Good luck to you and everyone else in their journey!
  11. Keep us up to date please! Everything will work out. Sorry you're having to deal with this. I'm glad its getting fixed!
  12. Sorry to hear what youve gone through.....i know the band today is different than the band five years afo

    Why Get A Lapband?

I think you'll do just fine. I'm 5'10" and weight 265. I'll be getting banded in early June. This was after researching for the past year and watching my wife who got banded in October 2011. I'm wanting to get down 100+lbs. I'm looking forward to the transformation.
  14. Hi everyone! I'm 35 years old (a male) and I'm at the very very beginning stages of getting banded. I've gone to one of 6 doctor visits and I'm planning on going to a seminar this month. My BMI is 40 and I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea. My wife was banded a couple months ago, and she really likes her surgeon, so I'll probably use him as well. I look forward to many future discussions with everyone1
  15. My wife was banded a couple months ago. I plan on using her's, but I still have 5 weigh-in's. I'm going to a seminar this month.
  16. So I am 5 foot 9 (or 9.5) and I weigh around 275 (I'm 35) and I've recently found out I have severe sleep apnea. November was my first of six visits with my PCP. I've signed up to go to a seminar in December and I'm hoping by the middle of summer of 2012 I'll have the lap band. Are there many out on the message board around my age with a BMI of 40? My ideal weight is around 160-170.
