    Half Marathon Training

That's awesome. This is my goal too. I've never been a runner, but I'd really like to try a half marathon once I lose a good portion of my weight. I'll definitely follow this because I'd love to check on your progress.
  2. My surgery was on January 27, 2012 and I will conquer running Bloomsday in Spokane in 2013.

    January 2012 Sleevers!

Anyone start their period? Or I am the only one. Yea, what fun this is. It hasn't even been a week since surgery. I was hoping to get over the initial pain before I had to do acrobatics for a tampon. Yes, I've been in pretty good spirits up until this morning and right now I'm cranky.

    "....you Look Fine"

I've been pretty open with everyone including people I work with regarding the surgery. It doesn't bother me, but the two people who at first who were the most unsupportive were my parents. My dad thinks I just need to go on ANOTHER diet like my sister did. My mom just talks about how the people she knew that had bypass gained their weight back. I told my mom, first of all, not having bypass. Second of all, I'm not other people, I'm me. Third of all, if my body allowed more than 65 lbs of weightloss, I could've done it YEARS ago, but thanks to PCOS I hit 65 lbs and my body says "No, thanks, I'm gonna hold on to the rest of this fat."

    Feeling Regret

My dr. prescribed Liquid Lortab 10-15 cc every 4-6 hours for the pain. For the PPI he prescribed Dexilant, 1 capsule every day For Nausea, Reglan, 1 pill, 3 times a day. I was sleeved on Friday, Jan 27th and (knock on wood) haven't experienced any nausea at all. I've taken the pills as prescribed and I also have been adding the Gas x strips after my meals and 1 before bed.

Did you get a prescription for a PPI and for nausea? If not, call and ask for them.

    January 2012 Sleevers!

Just a question and sorry if it's been covered before or TMI. I had my surgery Friday. I've been on clear liquids since and I can go to full liquids tomorrow. I've been farting but no bowel movement. I'm pretty sure the farting is just getting the extra gas out and I'm good with farting as opposed to burping. Burping seems to hurt a bit. Since I haven't been eating a whole lot I can't imagine having a bowel movement in the near future, but how long did it take you?
  9. My hubs was wanting to know too. I told him when I feel like it. LOL

    January 2012 Sleevers!

Well, I've been home since yesterday morning and I feel like i'm doing pretty well. I can move to full liquids tomorrow and I'm looking forward to trying some pureed yogurt. As far as pain goes, yesterday I was taking my liquid lortab every 4 hours almost on the dot, today I've been able to stretch it to the 6 hour limit. I'm hoping to wean myself off a little bit more each day. How long did some of you wait before driving again? I know it says to wait until your not taking the lortab so that's my plan.
  11. Congratulations! I just had my sleeve this past Friday. You won't wake up hungry. LOL! I promise you.
  12. It might be a vitamin B-12 deficiency. I know some people get the B-12 shots and that seems to help.
  13. I'm showered and packed and getting ready to leave for the hospital. Please keep me in your prayers that all goes well for a smooth surgery and recovery. My nerves are all over the place this morning and I couldn't sleep last night.

    Today Is The Day!

One funny thing that happened with my surgeon is when I was in Pre Op he came over and started going through my paperwork and said, "You know you really did great losing weight before surgery and it's just going to make it easier for me." I replied, "That was my goal, I want this to be as EASY for you as possible."

    Today Is The Day!

No, I'm gonna start my vitamins when I can do full liquids. I'm still on Clear Liquids for a couple more days and since those aren't clear, I'm not going to risk it. I'm taking my PPI and Reglan and liquid Lortab as prescribed, but other than that, it's been broth, Water, sf popsicles, Isopure artic punch and a little bit of sf Jello. Sleevy McSleeverson isn't rejecting any of it (knock on wood) and I'd like to keep it that way.

    Today Is The Day!

I will say the hardest thing for me today is getting my Water in. I think by the time i finish this bottle I've got going on, I'll have had close to 40 oz. I'm giving myself a little leeway today, but I know I'll have to figure it out tomorrow.

    Today Is The Day!

Thanks gals! I'm home and I'm feeling pretty well. I have 5 incisions, 1 hurts and i can barely tell the other 4 are there. So far I have minimum gas pain, but I do have some. It's a long road ahead, but as soon as the acute pain goes away I know I'll feel better.
  18. Thanks so much! I'm ready for this part to be over.
  19. YAY!!! I got my approval and surgery date on the same day, last Friday. I had my choice of surgery date, tomorrow, Jan 27th or wait until March. I went with tomorrow. Congrats, the happy dance is awesome.

Who Are You Rooting For Super Bowl Sunday?

Neither!!! Besides the Raiders these are my two least favorite teams. I can't root for either one, the closest I can get is to not root against the Pats. I love Peyton Manning, Eli Manning is dead to me.

    Insurance Pain In The Neck

Most insurances don't cover the nutritionist and pysch eval, which is wrong if they require it. I have BCBS of Texas through my husband's employer and I haven't had any problems with them paying except for the nutritionist. The Psych eval I just paid the $50 on my own and didn't bother with it at all. I have to say BCBS-Tx has been really easy to work with. My employers insurance is alot tougher and it's because my employer is self insured. It's a night and day difference.

    January 2012 Sleevers!

Well, tomorrow is the big day. I started this process on August 16th and I thought it would never come. Since my surgeon didn't require a liquid pre op diet, I did a modified one on my own. I did have a healthy dinner every night. No 'Last Meal' binge at all, other than a filet of fish last week. It was good and I don't regret it. LOL! I ate apple slices with it and drank my Protein shake. My son is nervous for me and so that makes me nervous for him. He asked me if he was going to see me again. My eyes welled up. He's only 5. I'm taking him to my inlaws tonight and he's going to stay with them until Monday. That way it will give me a few days recovery without having to worry about taking care of his needs. I can focus on me. I told him I would call him before surgery and then call him right after I wake up and can hold a phone. But that his Ya-ya (godmother) will call him as soon as the Doctor comes out and tells them that it's over. He agreed to this but then asked if we could sing his favorite song. Three Little Birds. I've been doing just fine with my nerves until this morning. Until this conversation.
