I was on liquids for two weeks. Maybe you have a lot of swelling from surgery and just née to try to stick with Protein Shakes and liquified Soups with added Protein Powder in them. Also, you can call your doctor and ask for anti nausea medication. I didn't have a problem with nausea but lots of people do. Good luck!
