  1. Hey you are really rockin that sleeve! Congrats! Can't wait to see more!
  2. You might be getting a but. Are you getting enough protein and fluids? Eat clean, meaning more organic, bright colorful veggies and meats that are more lean. Keep it simple and see if this boosts your energy level. When I don't get enough fluids, I start getting light headed, head aches, and my stomach has a tight feeling to it. Then I get confused not knowing if I'm hungry or thirsty. And then sometimes, we are just tired.
  3. I am a horrible diet coke, diet pepsi addict and I am not even going to try it. I drink G2 gatorade low cal mixed half and half with water. Or I use mio drops to flavor my water. Will be using lemon juice now for flavor. I like the all natural.
  4. I cheated with a little bit of candy and then got scared. I also started eating mini hershey bars and my A1C spiked from 6.0 to 6.3 in a short time. So I no longer cheat. I don't eat sugar anymore because I'm afraid it will trigger more of an increase in my A1C. I don't cheat anymore because it's not productive. I stay with the rules of eating protein, protein, protein, veggies, etc. Now I find myself wanting more colorful veggies and loving them. I was only cheating myself. Oh, don't get me wrong, my FIL is dying in the hospital and I have had terrible head hunger for candy and pizza. I did go buy some sugar free See's Peanut Brittle and sf dark chocolate with walnuts and almonds. It kinda hurt my stomach though. Right now my kids have donut holes sitting on the counter and I looked at them and told myself, "I'm diabetic, can't eat them." I haven't. Feeling proud, and when my son gets home, he will have to get them out of the house before I give in. LOL Anyhoo that's my story.
  5. My VSG went very well. I have had no complications with leaks or anything else. I did get dehydrated one time but that was my fault, not the VSG. I would choose this again in a heart beat. I also have lost my weight as quickly as a friend of mine who had RNY. I have/had less complications that she has. Love my sleeve.
  6. Alex: why can't I change colors on my fonts? Can you fix it? It's fixed but it's not posting. Urgggggggggggggggggggggggg!
  7. This is very complicated. For this surgeon you would have to pay out of pocket? And he saids he can't do the sleeve because of scar tissue. Can you get a second opinion? With the RNY there is more of a chance of stretching your pouch and a lot of issues with malabsorbtion and nutrition deficits. Will tricare offer coverage for the sleeve? I really think you need a second opinion. This makes me uncomfortable. A friend of mine who had RNY wasn't losing weight any faster than me, and was struggling with being able to go out into the community and eat certain types of foods w/o vomiting. Let us know what you decide.
  8. This is a grouse feeling I get when eating toooooo much and toooooo fast. I have to make conscious efforts to slow down and eat a little less. My eyes are bigger than my stomach. LOL
  9. I'm dancing in the rain! Yayyyyyyy! Looking good!
  10. Post op you will be tired for a while bc your body is healing. This is common for the first 6 weeks so try not to push it. Take small increments at a time to see how it's going to affect you. Biking is very pleasurable as well as walking. You can do this and congrats on starting your journey.
  11. I was suppose to drink 1 oz every 15 minutes. I didn't stress on this, I just sipped as much as I could in a short period of time. It worked for me.
  12. It doesn't sound like the gas in in your tummy, The gas is in the abdominal cavity. Walking is a great way to help move and absorb the gas. Sorry you have to struggle with this issue. It will get better.
  13. Premier from Costco or Sam's club. I love them.
  14. It's really hard to not be impatient. I want it now, not later. LOL It will happen before your know it and you will be so happy. Cheers to a new you!
  15. It sounds like you ate tooooooo fast. Slow down and keep your food simple for now. Tuna might have been too soon and the mayo too rich. It gets easier as time goes on.... Hope your feeling better.
  16. My FIL is in a critical condition at the hospital. Could you all say a prayer for him. He's 92 years young and just had second surgery for neck fracture. Please help by saying a few prayers. Thank you
  17. It is frustrating to learn lessons the hard way. But your on the right path now! Keep it up and you will be fine. There are days when you are going to be completely zapped of your energy and that's ok. Just enjoy today.
  18. Are you getting in enough fluids? Sometimes this can contribute to how you feel. Increase your fluid intake and start off small. Like going to the mall for a short period of time at first. Continue walking around your house often. Take deep breaths to help with healing. Just keep moving. Move all the time. You can do this, you've come this far.
  19. List of previously tried diets can be quite easy. For instance: weight watchers, Lindora, Jenny Craig, etc. I am glad that on this site to do some research and gather info about what your journey will be like. This is an awesome site with a lot of wonderful caring people. Welcome!
  20. Congrats! It feels good to be able to wear a sexy pair of jeans that are size 14! This is awesome.
  21. This doesn't sound too pleasant! Yikes, I am so fortunate that I didn't experience this.
  22. I do get hungry but when I should be hungry. SOme of it is head hunger, but it's good. It does get easier. The hardest job for me is to get in my water. It feels like I get up in the morning and I'm dehydrated. Then it's like starting over to rehydrate myself. It's been this way for quite a few weeks now and it is work. But it's worth it. I was such a diet coke addict that I would just drink that all day. No problem with liquids then. Now it's such a chore. And my stomach is a little finicky with water. Oh well, I love my sleeve and my skinniness!
  23. Can we cook it first? I know, it suppose to be raw, but I feel as if I can't eat raw fish without gagging. LOL
