  1. Brad- Congrats! It will only get better and better. I have pretty much lost the same amount myself so far! Isn't it amazing? =) I am soo happy and love to exercise and move as much as I can. I totally agree with you on not weighing until you get to the docs...I do the same...your weight goes up and down like crazy..so its not accurate to be weighing every single day...maybe every week if you wanted to...but if you wait, then you are shocked by the time you see the doctor again...I had lost 22 pounds last month! They were shocked! LoL. Well good luck on the rest...keep on going! =)

I was frustrated at first because I lost 10 pounds immediately after surgery, but it was only because of the Fluid in my legs going down...as soon as I started eating I gained it back...and it took a while, it was very annoying before I started loosing anything again. But one tip I can give you is to stop weighing yourself...I made that mistake...and learned its okay to weigh yourself once a week or something, but if you can try to just wait till you get to the doctors! I've had 2 fills and this last time I went in, they wouldn't give me one because I had lost 22 pounds in one month! It was due to stress also though...been going through a lot lately. But still, very exciting! You will get there too. I honestly can eat probably 2 cups of food if I wanted to (usually don't ) but I'm still loosing like crazy. I also exercise like crazy too. Since surgery, (Feb. 8th 2012) I have lost 35 pounds. Before surgery I lost 30 on my own so so far its 65!!!!!!!!


  3. I really don't understand what is with everybody's friends! My best friends are totally opposite, one is skinny as hell and always has been, and the other is a bigger girl and always has been. Neither has given me any kind of jealousy signs or anything...in fact they both tell me how proud of me they are...esp. the bigger friend! Its really sad how these people are treating you for simply bettering your lives, and if I were you I'd be telling them whats up and if they didn't like it you'll find someone who does...because lets face it ladies and gentleman we don't need ppl like this in our lives right now...we need supportive people who actually care. Not get jealous cuz they look worse than you do now. I remember when my Mom lost all her weight, I was bigger than her! It kinda sucked but do you think I said gee mom I can't go out with you in public anymore cuz I'm fatter than you now. No! I dealt with it, and eventually took care of myself on my own time. I would never take that new exciting feeling away from her...because really that's what these people are doing..trying to break you down and make you cave and be unhappy again. Don't let them do it to you.


  4. Hey Jamie! This is pretty funny cuz I live near the Storrs area as well. I actually went to Dr. Tousignant in Norwich and had my surgery at Backus Hospital and it went amazingly. If you ever want to talk let me know. I'm 24 and am sooo happy I made this decision. I've lost about 60 pounds I think so far and I had my surgery in Feb. of this year.


  5. Nice...I have 4.5cc's in mine and I love broccoli also...all veggies really..I don't feel like I have much restriction yet after two fills...but I feel I might be getting there. I can only eat the tops of the broccoli though...I had a bit of an issue with the stalks. Fine with me though- at least I can still eat the good part! That is awesome though...how much have you lost so far?


  6. Girl...a great beginning workout is Walk Away The Pounds with Leslie Sansone...But I just tried Hip Hop Abs with Shaun T (the guy who does Insanity) and it was AWESOME! I don't like dancing...but this was more like a slight dance workout...it was actually really great and you work up a great sweat ..goes by real fast too...the first one I did was 30 mins long. That along with a nice fast walk outside with weights at some point really would be great for you. I like to just go out and do it for as long as I possibly can...I love to go real far in the woods (I live in a state forest) Its absolutely beautiful out there. I used to never exercise either but I just love it so much now...I love being active...makes me feel like a whole new person! :)

I actually use Shampoo with keratin in it...(it has Protein for your hair in it) and I love it...Bought it at Sally Beauty supply its by Miracle 7..but you can find plenty of other brands that have it in it ...something cheaper is the new Suave with keratin that you can find anywhere...haven't had any issues at all with Hair loss but we will see...because I was only banded a couple of months ago. I have veryy thick hair though so if a little wants to come out hey that's fine as long as its not all of it...I eat plenty of Protein also.


  8. I was thinking the same thing as Cazzy... I exercise everyday between 20 mins to an hour or more. I mix it up between exercise vids and fast walking outside with the dogs. The best thing for you to do is mix it up as much as you can...and try to increase to it to like 4-6 days a week, 45 mins a day. I bet you would start seeing results in no time...I know I did...esp. once I started switching it up, its better to change your workouts so your muscles don't get used to the same thing over and over...that's why I stopped loosin for a time and as soon as I started a new workout I was loosing again...I lost 10 pounds!


  9. Well I went to the docs for my second fill today, and I haven't weighed myself in a month because I was getting annoyed with the scale..but surprisingly I lost 10 pounds! Boy am I happy! Don't worry it will happen to you too!! Just don't weigh yourself everyday...be patient and wait....if not till you go to the docs next then maybe every 2 weeks?


  10. This is what's going on with me...I see all kinds of people loosing 60+ pounds in a matter of 2-3 months and wonder, how is that possible? I haven't lost a pound in fact I more than likely gained who knows...I get my second fill tomorrow...my first one gave me no restriction. I've talked to many people who told me that they started off just like I did, and it wasn't until 4-5 months or more later, that they actually had restriction and lost the most weight...just look at B-52...he is a success and it sounds like he lost the same way we are in the beginning.


  11. I've had it since even before I started loosing! The docs have tested me too and given me an H. Pylori test to see if it was something inside that was causing it but its not. So maybe this is what I have too? God I hate it so much. It must be common in big people.


  12. I've noticed that every exercise works, as long as you really put all of your effort into it. But another thing that I've heard many times, is that you need to switch up your work outs...so that your muscles don't get used to the same thing over and over, and that's why your weight loss seems to slow down, cuz that's what happened to me too. As soon as I switched it up, I saw results again. And now that it's nice out I've started fast walking outside as well, and try to go as long as I possibly can...one day I went out for a 5 hour hike. I bring weights with me too a lot of times. Try going an hour instead of half an hour, and I bet you will see results that way too.

    If you REALLY want something intense, that will get you results FAST, try Insanity. They call it Insanity for a reason.


  13. I'm just wondering ...how do the docs know that they actually filled your port? Like, has anyone ever had it happen where they know it didn't go in, and possibly just went into your body? My first fill experience was very easy...no problems..she even said she could feel my port perfectly between her fingers when she was doing it. I have absolutely no restriction but I know that's normal...But I still worry...what if they miss?


  14. This is exactly what I'm going through...I'm almost 2 months out and haven't even attempted to weigh myself because I know I haven't lost. I will find out when I go to the docs...The weight I've lost so far was from exercise before surgery. I have only had one fill so far and can't wait for a second one...I exercise like crazy too...we need both tho...exercise and the band to help our eating...we have to wait for our restriction before we start to loose most of the weight. I know, it sucks! Don't worry though, I have talked to many people who started off this way, and ended up getting to their goal a year later! We will have success too!


  15. That is really sad honey...I couldn't imagine being without my mom ..she is my best friend and you sound like you are being so strong right now. I would be falling apart.

    On a happier note, you should be really proud of yourself. You should consider yourself one of the lucky ones who is loosing without a fill. I had my surgery 2 days before you and haven't lost anything...So I envy you right now. Hang in there.
