  1. Hi

I had my surgery in Sept. 2006, I did pretty well with my surgery, then 2010 hit, it was downhill from there. I have gained back all my weight. My doctor insists the steroids I am on, I have Lupus, Rheumatoid & Osteo Arthritis, The steroid are for the Lupus amongst other Medications. I was so happy being thinner. Now I walk 2 - 2 1/2 miles a day, and not losing anything, I am even eating more balanced meals then I ever had, and just keep gaining.

So I hear you, it is a lifetime battle. I did think this would have worked forever. I am pretty full 4 cc band w/ 3.25 full. Any fuller I would not be able to hold anything down.

Good Luck to you in getting your lapband to work.

  2. The pain is not to bad w/ lapband normally, my episode the tech at the hospital was assisting me, and he dropped me and I suffered a fractured rib, now that is painful everytime I would breath the pain was so bad, so I had to stay a couple of extra days, and they just kept giving me pain injections.

This happened at Atlantic City NJ hospital in mid- town. Later on when I was still having problems. I found out they loss the incident report that it ever happened. And are denying it happened, even though all the big wigs came to my hospital room gave me their business cards. Would not recommend this hospital at all. I did have a good doctor.

Good Luck on your weight loss journey.

  3. I am on Steroids everyday, I had my surgery in 2006 I went from 225 lbs to 167 lbs. But in the last 2 years I had to start taken steroid daily for Rheum. & Osteo Arthritis and Lupus, I use to walk alot but now have trouble w/pain in my knees and feet and back. Now in 2012 I am back up to my starting weight. I do eat what I am suppose to w/ the occasional treat. My doctors just keep telling me its the steroids.

I feel so terrible at this weight, but cannot give up the steriods I would swell up immediately by one day.

I only my tightness occasionally, I have a 4 cc band and I am at 3.5 tightness. So it should work everytime. I do feel full, I not a picker.

Breakfast consists of Cereal or oatmeal, lunch cottage cheese, fruit, and dinner Protein and veggies maybe a starch w/ it occasionally. Inbetween meals more fruit, after dinner about 8:oo I have a greek yogurt.

I think it is the lack of exercise.

You all seem to be doing very well, good for you all.

  4. Just a word of caution, if you are vomiting or frothing to much, you maybe to tight.

Take it from me, I wound up with esophageal ulcers, I didn't go back to the doctor

right away it went on for a couple of months, I started having breathing problems

wound up in the Emergency Room, found out I had come down with pneumonia, but

what had happen, my stomach contents was backing up into my lungs and I was

aspirating. So after a week in the hospital, I had to go back to my lapband doctor to

have my band completely loosen, I could not get it tighten for a year and a half, I

was a slow healer, in which I gained back 70 lbs I had lost. So now I am starting

all over again. So be careful.
