    New Here, Coping With Leak/abscess

You've been through so much!!! I'll be praying for a quick recover. Bless you!!
  2. Remember that you've had a pretty major surgery! You'll be weak for a while. I'm eight weeks post-op and I feel great! I can get my liquids and protein in now even though it was hard at first...everything is gradual, just relax into it and take good care of yourself. The first four days were really hard for me, too, and I had tons of regret in those days, but now I'm SO glad I had the surgery! It takes time for our head to catch up with our new sleeve, so don't despair. It's going to be great!! Take care!!

    Nausea, Nausea, Nausea

Hi Emlefe, my dr. told me to go off of the pill because it doesn't metabolize correctly in our sleeved systems...so it may have something to do with that!

    Your Healthy Go-To Food

I used to not be very fond of soups, (Admittedly because they took up too much room for the other not-so-good stuff I wanted to eat) and now I love a good soup!

Am I Doing To Much ?

That sounds right to me. I'm six weeks also and cleared to exercise as much as I want/can. Your calories sound great for how much you're exercising. Congrats on your excellent weight loss!

    Starting To Love My Sleeve

I'm six weeks out today and SO agree with you, Reddi! The first month wasn't horrible, but after the first month I felt so much better. My head hunger eased off and I started to feel more comfortable with my new regimen of eating and drinking. I'm so glad to be at this point!!

    Question About Gas

I noticed the most the morning after my surgery. That was actually the worse part for me!

This Was A New One For Me!

It made my vision slightly worse. My prescription was 4.75 and it went up to 5.00. I'm hoping that eventually it will get better than 4.75, but I am comforted that my dr. said it will at least go back to what it was.

This Was A New One For Me!

Thanks, Sassygirl! My dr. seemed to think it was only temporary - he told me to keep my old prescription contacts and only order a box of the new prescription because my eyesight will bounce back to what it was. Ahhh, to have perfect vision!

    Surgery Anxiety

Hi Stacey - don't be anxious! You'll do great, and the changes to your relationship with food with get easier and easier. The three weeks of liquids after surgery will be easier because you'll be healing and liquids is mostly all you'll want. Good luck and God bless!!
  11. I'm five weeks out and eat about 500 calories a day. That's about all I can get in. Like Foxbins, I'm not hungry at all, I just eat when I know I'm supposed to...I think that when I can eat regular foods again (in two weeks) my calories may go up, but I can only see it going up to 600-800, at least for a long while.
  12. Hi! I didn't have to stop before my surgery, but after surgery I was told to use another form of birth control because the pill doesn't work the same with our new tummies (I was told why, but can't remember now!).

    Great Post Op Book

Thanks, Joiebean! I just bought it using your link.
  14. Felicia's right, the Premiers are 11 oz...this is what I drink even though the ready-to-drink options are more expensive. It's the only one I've liked, and I've tried powders. And I only like the chocolate. I guess I'm a little picky! :/

    The Guilt I Carried

Holly, I cried and cried when I read this...I lost my mom unexpectedly, too, and she was everything to me. I can feel your pain. No one loves you like you mom! Since you are forgiven by the Lord and by your mom, I pray that you'll forgive yourself. Thank you for this blog entry! It was beautiful and heart-wrenching, but also a lovely tribute to your mom. xo

    Back To Work Tomorrow

I like to take cottage cheese and soups.

    Where You At?!?!

Wow, Lilee, you look amazing!! It's hard to believe that pix two and three are the same weight - you look so much smaller in pic #3!! Your face looks tiny! Congrats!
  18. Wow!! You look amazing! Congatulations, and thanks for being an inspiration.
  19. Hi! I never considered the bypass or DS. It seems like there are so many more complications with those two surgeries compared to the sleeve. At my pre-op classes, the RN shared that 1 in 200 die from bypass, while 1 in 1000 for the sleeve. I also didn't want to deal with all of the malabsorption issues.

Hi! No, no drain. I was glad about that! If you have any other questions in the future, I'd be happy to answer them. My email is darmarram@yahoo.com.

    Dr. Casillas Kaiser West La

I was sleeved by Dr. Kim at Kaiser West Los Angeles...he did a fabulous job. I'm sure Dr. Casillas is great, too.

    I Need Help...

I totally agree with Sassygirl about the anti-depressants. I went to my dr. before surgery because I was having horrible PMS (the moody part, not the pain), and originally asked her for Yaz...she instead gave me Prozac to take the two weeks before my cycle began, and it was like a miracle. I very, very rarely deal with the mood swings and anger anymore. Check into that! I don't suffer from depression.

Omg Where Did This Pain Come From?

It took several hours... I took gas-x strips and walked around for about 15 minutes (it was 12:30 a.m.!), then is seemed to break up enough for the pain to stop and I went back to bed. When I woke up at around 7:00ish, it was gone.

Omg Where Did This Pain Come From?

I hope it's gas! I had that happen to me a couple of nights ago, and it turned out to be gas...
