  1. Hi there! I'm 19 months out from surgery and doing very well in all aspects of post-surgical life except for one thing - Water makes me slightly nauseous. Does anyone else deal with this? I've tried it flavored, room temperature, ice cold - it doesn't seem to matter much (although warm to Hot drinks are fine). It's not anything I can't handle, and I still get most of my water in, but it's odd. I can't remember if it used to happen when I took my ppi, and I'm wondering if I should start my ppi up again...any advice? Thanks!!

Thank you, supersweetums! I did start taking it again, and it seems to be already helping.

    Getting nauseous from water...

Thank you, Suejersey! I'm going to try Snapple green tea to see how that is. It's very weird!

    Getting nauseous from water...

Hi sarsar, I didn't have any problems drinking right after surgery...I wish I had paid more attention, but I think this started when I stopped taking my ppi about six months ago. But I'm not sure! I should probably check with my doc, but I also may start taking my ppi again and see if that clears it up. Thanks for your help!!
  6. Hi there! I'm 15 months out, and still haven't gotten into the habit of incorporating veggies back into my diet. I love veggies, but, as weird as it sounds, have gotten out of the habit of eating them. I would appreciate any suggestions about when to eat them and good ways to get them back into my diet. How do you incorporate them in your day? Thanks, everyone!!!

    Wow, Rob! You look amazing!!
  13. The best advice I got on these boards when I first has surgery was this: the first month sucks!!! Don't worry, you're going through the hard part right now, but it gets SO much better! Hang in there, the regret will go away and you'll be thrilled with your decision. Hugs!!
  14. So excited for you!!!! I'll pray for a successful surgery. This'll be the best thing you ever did for yourself! Great job on your weight loss so far, that'll really help your healing time. Swallowing saliva wasn't an issue for me or my husband who also had the sleeve. GOOD LUCK! Enjoy the journey!

    1 month post op

Congratulations!! That's awesome weight loss! I feel the same way about my sleeve - blessed and excited, even after 14 months. It's the best thing I ever did for myself. Enjoy the ride!!
  18. Don't be sad! A lot of people are able to eat those foods in small amounts. I used to eat rice and bread all of the time, and I honestly don't miss it at all. I'd love to check back with you in two-three months to see how you feel about it all...I'm willing to bet that your perspective will be completely changed. Hang in there, sweetie!! And PDXMan is an expert - I've followed his advice a lot along the way and he knows what he's talking about...he's absolutely right about adding in veggie carbs for energy!
  19. Hi! Yes, I'm 14 months out now, and can eat just about anything...bread, rice, and pasta don't sit well, so I do avoid those even at this point. I still stick to protein first, then veggies and fruits. I don't avoid carbs, I eat and enjoy them. I'm SO happy with my weight loss and energy...I feel like this surgery saved my life. My hubby had surgery, too. It's great, because we eat the same!
  20. I remember going through exactly what you described...hang in there! I didn't get energy back until week 4, then I had it in abudance. At week 2, I still had really low energy. I also missed the food I used to eat. It took me a month to get over wanting that food I used to eat. It'll get better! This decision has changed my life in so many good ways! The best advice I got when I had the surgery was "The first month sucks". Keep that in mind, and don't worry - it's gets better very soon. Good luck!!!
