  1. All great advice... I have a question for you? I've just past my my year anniversary since banded. I lost 45 pounds in the first 5-6 months and haven't lost anything for the remainder of the year, in fact I've gained a few pounds back :( I know I'm making BAD choices often, but eating the "slider" foods is just easier and honestly cheaper than eating healthy food. Can anyone give me some ideas for healthy Snacks that aren't too costly?

  2. Hi all,

I've read a few comments banders have made about being in the "Green Zone", but I'm not sure what that exactly means. It sounds like something I need to find! I'm relatively new (been banded for just 4 months). I'm making good progress, but I feel hungry a lot. I'm still trying to figure out if it's real hunger or "head" hunger.

  3. I was banded 5 weeks ago and have already had one fill. It didn't really make me feel any different to be honest. I lost 31 pounds in a month and now I'm starting to slow down. It's a little disappointing not seeing the numbers go down. I've started eating solids and I wonder if that's why it's slowing down. I know I just need to be patient. Good luck to you and just follow the plan.

  4. I'm having a tough day today. I just can't seem to feel full or satisfied. I want to eat EVERYTHING. Plus I'm making holiday treats for Christmas gifts. I've taste tested a few times, and now I'm feeling so mentally disappointed in myself. I feel a little crappy physically, but not sick or anything. I've been so good until I started eating solids. I'm so afraid I'm going to mess up all my progress. Has anyone else gone through these feelings?

  5. I worry about stretching my pouch too.. I worry because I'm still not sure what it feels like to be full. I had my surgery 5 weeks ago and just started softer foods. I eat the amount of food the doctor tells me to, but I don't really feel full. I worry that when I start eating solid foods, I will stretch the pouch and gain weight back. I'm probably being a little silly and paranoid, but I just don't want to gain weight. Anybody else feel like this?

  6. Hello,

I am one day away from 5 weeks into my lap band journey. My family is going to Disneyland tomorrow and I'm worried about what to eat while we are there. Just wondering if any of you have suggestions for me. I'm still a little afraid to eat anything that's not too mushy. I thought about bringing some Protein powder and making a shake, but I still would like to eat with my family. I would appreciate any suggestions.

    Thanks a lot!

  7. I had my band put in Nov. 15th, and I totally feel the same as you. I go in for my first fill on Thursday. I'm a little nervous, but I've heard that it isn't too bad.. Thank you for your post and for all the replies that followed. I'm looking forward for see more progress :)

  8. Hello lap-banders,

I was banded 4 days ago and today has been the worst day so far. Just wondering if this is normal. Maybe i tried to do too much today, but things feel different from yesterday. Yesterday I had a pretty good day, but today my stomach was grumbling and growling most of the day. I haven't felt hungry and was drinking my fluids. I've also felt a little pressure in my chest (lower near the sternum) after I drink. My upper back is killing me too. I heard that was normal from the procedure. I guess I just need some reassurance that this is typical. I see my doctor early next week and have taken notes on how I'm feeling, but I was hoping to get some feedback from some of you in the community. Thanks

  9. Hi. I'm 3 days post op and not feeling too hungry. I'm following the eating program to the "t". I too am scared to screw it up. I'm actually having a tough time getting all my liquids in with only drinking an ounce every 15 minutes. I feel like it takes hours to drink the Protein Drinks. So far so good though. Thanks for sharing your post op experiences..

  10. Hi lap-banders! I am 3 days into my journey and doing well. I'm looking for some advice on how to take my medications. Some of my meds are a little bigger than the size of a pea, so I have tried crushing them and mixing them with something I could eat or drink quickly. Last night I tried mixing my meds with sugar free pudding, but I didn't like the taste. The pudding with meds stayed in my mouth too long and I tasted too much of the meds. Any suggestions on how to take medications easier? Thanks
