  1. I've noticed it too but like emelefe I also think at least part of it has to do with my own personality & attitude being much better/more cheerful.
  2. I used protein shots from GNC .... Wal Mart also sells a similar item.

    What's The Best Cardio?

I go to the gym at least 5x's/week & start every workout with a minimum of 3 miles on the elliptical. I use to switch between elliptical and bike but the elliptical was such a better over all workout that I never use the bike anymore & I'm very happy with the results Ive seen since going strictly to the elliptical.

    Very Disapointed

17 pounds in a month & a half is fantastic especially when you consider that you only weighed 219 to begin with. You have to keep in mind that its a lot easier to drop a ton of weight at the beginning when you weigh 350, 400 .or more..... not so much when your starting weight is low 200's (or below). Just stick with the plan & you will be happy with the end result.
  5. Good job Michelle you look great!
  6. I hated my drain & felt so much better once it was gone. I had some thick mucous type stuff too but I think that is normal, it is basically the hole trying to heal but the moving of the drain keeps ripping it. Just hang in there & it will be out before you know it. Once its gone the relief is instant (it was for me anyway).

    Oh My.....

I would just stay away from it. Even diet soda is so bad for you that you really don't want to get back into the habit of drinking it again.
  8. You look great, keep it up!

  11. I'm a stomach sleeper & it took about 3 weeks before I could sleep comfortably in a bed.

    Spicy Not Nicy

Spicy hasn't bothered me at all but anythimg greasy makes me very nauseous. It was so bad that I don't even bother with anything greasy anymore.

    Hate To Eat Now

This is exactly how I feel & I'm totally ok with it as going out to eat all the time was a major contributor toward how I got itno this situation to begin with.
  16. I've only been sleeved since last summer & I'm not even close to being able to eat a whole meal (maybe 5-6oz in a setting tops) Honestly I don't think I ever want to, 7 months in & its a fight to lose 2 lbs a week, there is no way I want to be able to eat more & make losing even harder.
  17. The first few times I went out I felt like I needed to eat faster because of the people I was with & ended up throwing up in thwe restaurant bathroom. I've also had experiences like yours where I picked at my food & took forever to eat a little bit. I'm basically to the point where I no longer go out to eat because the expereinces are just terrible anymnore.
  18. My doctor told me that drinking while eating really isn't a big deal once you are past the healing stage of the first few weeks & back on solid foods. My guilty pleasure pleasure is a large double/double french vanilla iced coffee from Tim Hortons every AM (but it takes my most of the morning to get ot down). I've tried pizza (something I loved pre sleeve) & absolutely hate it now.
  19. I was 6 months on 2/23. Totally agree with Lissa regarding energy, can't believe how much more I have compared to pre surgery. My weight loss has been good (but I also lost about 1/3rd of my total pre surgery). I'm at a point where the weight loss has slowed a bit but I still see huge changes in waist, hips & chest measurements. I've went from a size 50 to 40 in Jeans (and could probably fit in a 38 right now) and from 5-6XL in shirts to 2-3XL.
  20. I'm 6 months post surgery & have no sagging in my arms or legs, very little in my stomach. That being said I have been hitting the gym hard for over 2 years with a routine that alternates between high rep fat burn & heavy weight muscle build.

    5 Month Progress Photos

You look fantastic, keep it up!
  22. This is about the same as me, 5 months out & still eating about the same as month 2. I guess the main difference now is that i am use to eating the smaller portions so it doesn't seem so small anymore. I can't even imagine eating fast food, not just because I know how bad it is for me but since being sleeved anything with a lot of grease is a complete turn off because its just tastes horrible anymore.
  23. My surgery was on August 23, 2011 & I am conquering my hesittation to be more active/participate in sports because of my weight & limitations that came with it.
