  1. @alli.wakefield my story is almost the exact same as yours. I got my bad in the same year and everything. I had the revision to the sleeve done on December 27,2016. I feel like it was the best decision I could have made. I had severe reflux with the band, but not with the sleeve. I can eat healthier foods, that got stuck with the band. My weight at surgery was 332 and I am at 297 as of today. I have lost 35lbs in a little under 2 months. I truly couldn't be happier with my decision.

    Good luck with whatever you decide to do!

  2. My surgery is tomorrow.....like everyone else I thought this day would never get here. I joined this site a little over a month ago, and I want to thank everyone for sharing their experiences and stories. I feel like I am 100% ready for this surgery and all that may happen in the weeks after the surgery. Had I not found this site, I would feel lost and have no idea what to expect. I am so excited to start my journey.....I will see you all on the other side!!! =-}

  3. I am two weeks out from a crazy lot of surgery: Corset Abdominaplasty (a kind of tummy tuck), lower body lift and silicone breast implants. Today is my first day back at work and I'm feeling great, but still a little sore. I was really worried about being able to be back to work in two weeks, but it was no problem (office job) -- I probably could have been back last Wednesday after the drains came out. I'm thrilled with the results in my tummy and breasts, but still waiting to see how the lower body lift works out after the swelling goes down more. I'm happy to answer any questions about the surgery or recovery. I've noticed that most posts are from people getting single procedures, so I thought there might be some interest in what it's like to have several at once.

    Some info:

    - I was banded in february 2007 and lost a little over 100 lbs -- currently just inside the "normal" range for my height.

    - The surgery took 5-6 hours and I spent two nights in the hospital

    - I had four drains that were removed 9 days post-op (could have been done 7 days, but the holidays got in the way).

    - I was on Morphine for two days in the hospital, percocet for 3 days at home, then switched to nucyntra (narcotic without the side effects) for another few days. At about 10 days out, I switched to advil and I'm still taking them, but can skip the one in the middle of the night without too much problem.

    - It took me two days to be able to walk around and five days until I could walk a mile (slowly) on the treadmill. I'm going to start walking daily on the treadmill today (increasing speed and incline over time) until my doctor gives the go-ahead to get back to spinning and weight lifting.

    Happy to answer any questions!

    I am just starting my journey, but the thought of what I am going to do with the extra skin in a couple of years has crossed my mind. I am just curious if you had to pay for all the procedures or if your insurance covered any part of it. Also if you don’t mind me asking how much did you have to pay for the procedures?

  4. Columbia MO? I'm going through SSM Weightloss Institute at Depaul. I actually did their HMR medically managed program about three years ago and lost 60lbs (all liquid x7months) but obviously have gained it back. I will definitely start up-ing my Protein and no carb with all the posts I've seen.

    Yes Columbia Missouri is where I am having mine done. I couldn't find a surgeon in St. Louis that took my insurance and could get me in right away.

  5. I am from St. Louis, but I am getting my surgery in Columbia which is a bid of an inconvenience. I was wondering if there were others from St. Louis on this site. I look forward to getting to know others in my area that are going through the same experience that I am. laugh.png
