Hello!!! Welcome this is a great place and lots of fantastic advice. Your journey is just beginning and your new healthier life will start soon. Good Luck to you, getting the lapband was the best decision i ever made
-
I really don't drink the Protein Shakes like i should (i hate them) but when i do (maybe once a week) i use the pre packaged/mixed ones fromn costco, they have 30grams of Protein per shake...I get my protein in other ways, fish fish fish and hard boil eggs, ect...Or instead i drink soy milk
-
Wow my band only holds 10cc..I never knew they could hold upper of 14cc, wow....anyway (lol) my first fill i was given 4.2cc and my second fill 2.4 so i have a total of 6.8cc in a 10cc band and have great restriction
-
Yay...this is so exciting and the beginning of a great new journey for you. A bit of advice, get use to your stomach making some crazy noises because that is a big part of this .....Your husband wil be fine on his own for a bit, lots of sugar free popsickles, broths, Protein Shakes, Water water and then more water and lots of walking are all in your future, good luck to you this is the best decision i ever made.....had surgery 9/14 started at 320 and am not at 257 :)GL to you!!!
-
I myself have never gotten stuck, or thrown up THANK GOD....i was banded 9/14
-
Why would you not be happy about that, If you didn't want the steak why eat it??? I myself haven't had any issues with food, i can eat everything and have never thrown up once. About 2 weeks after a fill all your swelling has gone down in your belly so you can eat....Usually the first fill doesn't put you in the "zone" so schedule another one, for my first fill I got 4.2cc of Fluid and it did nothing, the second i got another 2.4 cc total 6.8 in a 10cc band and I feel great restriction. Call your Dr's office and schedule another one and hopefully that will make you feel better, GL!!!

I would think that since you are steadly losing weight and are not hungry after you eat your portions that you will not need a fill at this point. I myself was stuck at the same weight for 2 months and got a fill and the scale started moving again.,,You are doing great!!!

I had my frist fill months ago under fluroscopy and It hurt ME...It was a burning and stinging sensation (but tolerable) the second fill was nothing close to the first I felt a slight pinch and that was it...
-
How did it go???
-
My first fill hurt, it stung and burned all the same....My doc gave me a numbing needle that did this and then he put the needle in the port which also stung and burned the whole time (but tolerable)...now my second fill was just a quick little pinch and a piece of cake....Good Luck with yours
-
I myself around 3-4weeks after surgery was also stuck on the same number for 2 months...then i got a 2nd fill and yay started dropping the lbs, my first fill did nothing but the second was the one ....schedule a fill if you are not getting satisfied from your meals,,but talk to your doctor about all of this and good luck to you in your journey

i eat every kind of meat, i make sure i ALWAYS use some kind of dipping sauce though and never eat anything dry and just take very small bites and chew many times
-
i used Unjury and hated it, actually returned 5 containers to the company..i just couldn't force myself to drink it (yuk) instead i drink the Protein Shakes from costco (they are already mixed) they have 30 grams of Protein per carton
-
I myself can eat anything from, salads, pizza, rice, steak, popcorn to nuts....It is all in moderation though and i can only have a few bites if i do choose to eat that.....The band will not stop you from putting the bad things in your mouth only your mind will. You have to change the way your mindset is and the band is a tool to help with that, I have small bites and chew chew chew til it is mush then take small swallows ( a whole new way to eat now) but so well worth it, GL
-
Good Luck to you, what a great decision you have made, i too started at 320 and am down to 259 (surgery 9/14) it is a lot of hard work and the band is just a tool to help so stay strong
-
I was on no special diet pre surgery on Clear Liquids first week after (you have no appetite anyway) then back to regular foods but healthier choices ... I love my Dr and his staff, anytime i have a question i just call and they answer and my Doc has a great sense of humor. I am so happy i did this, it is NOT the answer all but it is a FANTASTIC tool to help get you were you need to be,,,,a healthier, fit new you...I started this journey at 320 and am down to (as of this am) to 259 ...I LOVE MY BAND...GL to you!!
-
I had my first fill 4.2cc in a 10cc band, it did nothing (but i was expecting that) had my second one last week, another 2.2 cc so total 6.4cc in a 10cc band, this one really worked, my doctor does it differently than yours, liquids for 3 days then mushies than regular foods, to give the swelling time to go down...I feel great restriction, eat 3 bites and i am done and also stay full for the entire day (have to remind myself to eat) I am down 11 lbs since last week ...a lot of this journey is in your head if your hungry make healthy choices (no junk)....you will get there, be patient it takes time for this journey...Good Luck to you
-
I buy my Protein Shakes from costco they are in little cartons and have 30grams of Protein per drink...you can buy by the case of 24 for $19 and they taste pretty good.....
-
Ahhhh yes the dreaded gas....you might have this for a few weeks, it is the worst part of this journey...My suggestion is to walk walk walk and walk more..You will get through it as we all did..Good Luck to you
-
Wow good for you going all this time with no fill...I just had my second today, first one 7 weeks ago at 4.2cc in a 10cc band and it did nothing "for me" so finally had my second today as a matter of fact, another 2.2cc so now i am at 6.4cc and am thinking this one will do the trick (please please please, lol) this journey is so much fun and such a roller coaster and i just keep reminding myself that i didn't put the weight on overnight and won't lose it that way. I started this journey at 320 and am now at 268, so 1day 1pound at a time...Good Luck to you
-
Awwww congrats....Enjoy your journey...Had my surgery 3 and a half months ago and down from 320 to 268 ...has my second fill just today, sometimes it is going to be hard but you can do it....Good Luck!
-
Wow....remember certain people will always be negative just to keep you down because THEY are jealous. Stick to your guns and start a new healthier you. Sit down with your parents and explain what this means to you. I too started at 320 and am now down to 269 (had surgery 3 months ago)...It is the best decision ever. Good Luck to you!

My doctor and dietician say no gum at all,,,,it puts a lot of unnecessary gasses in your tummy....all doctors are different so check with yours
