As long as you can provide documentation from a dr stating your weight throughout the years it doesn't matter if they are your pcp or ob doc or any other soc for that matter. My insurance (BCBS Fed) had the same requirement and I submitted office notes from my weigh ins from my ob doc. and I was approve.

My gas pains last a little under a week

Hi Mandy! thanks. to be honest the first week for me it was eBay to do the liquids because I really wasn't hungry at all... now that I'm in my second week it is much harder for me cause I'm a picky eater...the hunger pangs are painful more so since being banded than they were before the band... I'm not sure why though.... after your surgery have some gas x strips and a heating pad for those shoulder pains. I wish you the best!!

Hey Sunshyne, I'm great and yes I'm post op! I feel great!! it wasn't as bad as I thought... the first few day were kinda hard....soreness and shoulder pain, I'm guessing that was the gas. Day 6 and 7 I felt as though I hadn't had surgery...it felt like I had dreamt it! lol Today makes a week and three days since surgery and it's awesome! How are you?? when are you having surgery?

I to had bcbs federal and it only took them 3 days to approve me once all my information was submitted to the nurse at bcbs fed.

my port is sore also if I lay on my side or lay completely flat it feels as though it's pulling something. I really don't know which incision my port is under or by but I do know that it must be somewhere on the left because of soreness. my incision are itchy also and the staples that are holding them are pulling my skin too.

I was just banded this morning. I arrived at the hospital at 6:15 am, surgery started at 8 am and I left at about 1:30 pm. Doctor Sao everything went great! I couldn't be happier with the results! I feel pretty good... Just a little discomfort which feels like pressure in the upper portion of my stomach... I believe it's gas.... Insicions a bit sore but bearable. I haven't taken any more meds other than the ones they gave me in the IV during surgery! I am to be on a clear liquid diet for 10 days. I am ecstatic to be on the loser side!! Can't wait for the pounds to drop!! If you have any specific questions feel free to ask me I will do my best to answer. Oh yeah, I do believe I have 4-5 incisions.

Anyone know of a good brand or store to get a compression garment?

I didn't go into details with my job. I just told them I was going to be out due to surgery...they didn't ask what type of surgery I was having! whew!! but if they had I was going to tell them I was have hiatal hernia fixed.

Thanks!! I am located in Georgia. I will definitely update everyone on my progress. I didn't have to do a liquid diet just a protien sparing modified fast for 10 days. I have lost 20 Lbs so far!

Hey sunshyne068 I'm so happy for you!!! we are almost on the banded side!! my surgery is Monday Feb 20th and I am as nervous as can be!!!

My surgery day is Feb 20th!! I am super excited!!!

I have BCBS Fed. I had to have 3 months doctor supervised diet, a psych consult and see a nutrisionist. My information was sent to BCBS on Jan 25, it was reviewed by the nurse at BCBS on Jan 31 and I was approved on Feb 2! I also had to provide documentation of being over weight and I dont have a PCP so my Ob-gyn sent in the sheet from my chart that showed my previous weight. It was fairly simple. Wow!! What an inspiration you are!! You brought tears to my eyes. I am in the process of waiting for an approval...Everything has been submitted and the wait is killing me! I am trying to remain as positive as I can but, its so hard.
