    So sick today

Could it had been the amount you had? I was told that when you start on solids, that you should only eat about a tablespoon to start. You might also be having a reaction to the dairy in the cottage cheese. Did you go from liquids to softs? I am surprised they didn't have you do pureed stage before soft? I am so sorry you were feeling bad. I really hope both of you start to feel better!!! Are you still on pain medication?
  5. @Lemon109. Awesome congrats on your date! I will be anxious with you! I am sure anxiety will really get higher as the days count down. I agree I like to be prepared. Currently, I am purchasing my needed Vitamins, Protein and making sure there isn't anything that I am missing. Holidays are so tempting, and if you can get through those, then it is better in the long run. I remember when I was banded in Nov of 2011. I couldnt really eat much of anything, but I really wasnt hungry or tempted which was great! However, I think they offered to puree some turkey....yuck! Haha!! What about all of you? Are you prepping for needed items, Proteins, vitamins?

  7. @lvette welcome! Before Thanksgiving is the best time to do surgery. Less temptation!
  8. This is for thise who had band removed...then had to wait for bypass revision. Laparoscopic-gastric-bypass-surgery.html How many incisions do they do for bypass? Do they use the same incision site (that they used for port removal) again for bypass? If so.....Has anyone had any difficulty with incisions healing, after they used the port incision again? I understand that when they use the same incision sites, that the tissue and muscle can become weaker and healing might be a problem. Please share any info. Thanks!

    Band to bypass incisions

@@rosemary79 thankyou, I have been really worried about that. Were your incisions lap incisions? and all the same size? or any ones bigger than the others?

    Right Surgeon?

I can understand. Here is what you do...write a list of all of the questions that you have for your surgeon and request an appointment to speak with him about having specific questions that you want to talk to him about. I would want to know those were answered before hand and NOT on the day of surgery. There is way too much going on and people to talk to, too much to remember on a day that is stressful and causing more anxiety. If you do a Q&A session with him, it will help alleviate fears and reduce anxiety. I am excited for you and I am sure it will go smoothly. Those anesthesiologists are good bartenders!!!

    It's a DATE!

Congratulations on your date set! I would definately clarify that and speak with your surgeon. However, to put you at more ease,....as a nurse, we are required to obtain consent with your specific procedure on a consent form that you have to agree to and sign. You will also be asked numerous times about the procedure you will be having by the pre-op team, anesthesiologist, and your surgeon. I am excited for you, and it sounds like the office needs better management. I am sure that is stressful. Be assured, they will not do the wrong procedure on you...if they do...you can own the hospital by the time you are done with lawsuits out the wazoo against all involved in your care. Definately let your surgeon know. Good luck and congrats!!!

    Best shakes?

I really like the Premier Protein. I buy the vanilla because they are so versatile. If I want chocolate, I just add sugar free chocolate syrup. If I want strawberry, or any other flavor just add a flavored extract or some use also sugar free Torani syrups.

Do you access yours via mobile or PC? For mobile version, I see less than on a regular laptop or desktop.

    Band to bypass incisions

I am 3 weeks post band and port removal and it isn't completely closed yet but looks so much better. He told me I would have to wait 8-12 weeks post band removal before revising to bypass, but forgot to ask if he would be using different areas for incisions. I would rather look like a pin cushion than to have him go in the same new incision sites and then have trouble with them healing.
  16. That is truly amazing!!! Congratulations! You can hear the excitement in your post! Way to go!!! Whoot!

I don't like it either! They have a paid version now like everything else... maybe they put that in the paid version?

    Is dating 50/50?

I am married too, but couldn't resist not posting. I can tell you Chivalry is still alive today, I assure you, BUT ...for the first date. ...I agree with everyone to keep it light coffee, at the park (not parking) haha......or a group event. That way you can get to know the other without either having any pressure. A relationship should always have a good basis of friendship first anyways right? It is always the gentlemen thing to offer and pay the first time, but nowadays it's really not expected. The right person will come along when you least expect it. @@lisacaron - I met my husband on yahoo personals too!

    Workplace drama...REALLY?!

I don't understand why women have to be like that. I look at it this way...they are obviously jealous of your success so they need to try and belittle you to make themselves feel better. Drives me nuts and no matter where you go, there will always be someone that will be like that. I am so sorry. Sometimes, we need a change to a different environment and new people. Congrats on your loss! Just ignore those unhappy beyaches!!!

    Pseudotumor cerebri

@ - how horrible. Spinal taps are awful! Radiologists do a much better job actually because they do more of them. Yeah it sounds as though you did have it rough. I am so sorry you had to go through that. I just had my eyes looked at on Friday and she gave me an all clear with no mention of increased intraocular pressure which is really good. However she did have to increase my RX, I guess I am getting blind in my old age haha!!! So until, I hear differently or experience more headaches, I will just try and watch my symptoms.
  24. I haven't had revision yet, but have had previous WLS before. I was only off work for 3 weeks and was walking around. You should be fine before wedding day as long as you are getting fluids, protein, and vitamins in. Just be a good girl haha!!!

    Seroma

I was just at my surgeons office on Friday about that possibility. A seroma is a collection of fluid that collects underneath the skin in the port area because basically it leaves an empty space. He said that my incision looked normal even though it was pink and warm. He told me that if it starts to drain clear fluid that to cover it with gauze. If the drainage was purulent, then to call right away but in the mean time to watch it. Wounds like that have to heal from the inside. Eat lots of protein so it will heal faster. Keep clean. Healing just depends on so many things. If you are immunocompromised , it may take a bit longer. Example Diabetes will cause slower wound healing, also medications etc... Sorry to hear that. Hopefully it will heal quick.for you!
