I have UHC Choice Plus, They submitted my information on a Tuesday and I was approved and scheduled the following Tuesday.

Thanks FavoredOne. I'm so excited, I'm ready to get the ball rolling. It'll be nice to be able to fit into my AKA sorority blazer again. I've been too embaressed to order a bigger size . I also have a clothes wishlist to achieve this year LOL

My parents are driving me crazy. I'm single and 25 so I don't have a DB or DH to come with me to the surgery so I choose them. My mom keeps trying to do a psychological evaluation on me (cause she has a stupid degree in psychology) and its really pissing me off LOL. And my dad made me so mad yesterday, I asked him if my gut looked a little smaller cause I noticed a difference and he was like NO, 10 pounds isn't gonna do it. It really set me off. I had actually lost 15 pounds so i was actually proud of myself. It really ticked me off so I got up and left. Then they keep pressuring me to talk to their friend who just had surgery because they think I don't know what to expect. It's really stressing me out. There are so many emotions going through me and the main reason I became obese is emotional eating. I literally got in my car yesterday was on the way to the movies because that's my happy place. Was ready to get a large popcorn, nachos and large diet dr pepper to go to town on. BUT I turned around mid route and said NO not worth it. So I came back home had some Water and watched New Girl all night. I really want to tell my parents not to go on Tuesday for the surgery. I just rather be by myself and stay at my lonely apartment verses their house for the remaining days of recovery. I'm the type where if you irritate me I'll shut you out and avoid you for days to give myself space. I'm supposed to go to my parents tonight for Easter dinner and I don't want to. I actually thought about lying about changing my date for surgery so they won't go but that would make me a terrible person. I'm just so upset and frustrated. And I know my mother will hate me for that if I do. I really don't wanna go into this thing with all this drama. Also, I've had just water today is it ok for me to eat a palm sized meal of Easter dinner tonight? Thanks for listening to me vent. Happy Easter!

People suck sometimes, but as I like to say. Haters gonna hate lol. Just either ignore it or smile and move on I wouldn't let their negative energy get you down

Viven I have UHC Choice Plus, I'm from San Antonio. Do you happen to work for JPMC by any chance? I've already done my eval, having surgery tomorrow!Like Kim mentioned the psych eval is no big deal. They just want to make sure you are stable enough to have the surgery and understand what will happen afterwards. It's a lifelong commitment so they just want to make sure you aren't looking for a quick fix and understand what needs to be done to maintain this commitment emotionally and physically. Just relax, be yourself, answer the questions and you'll be ok. Good luck on your journey!

Thanks Arj, I've seem to calm down a bit. Just trying to clear my head. I had my little Easter dinner and now having crystal light to relax. Weather is nice out. I just wanna make it to Tuesday (my surgery date too)and be in peace lol. My parents are working my nerves but I know they mean well. Veterans I need some guidance. I'm on my pre-op diet having surgery on Tuesday. I am desperately craving pizza like seriously. I just want to enjoy a slice of pizza and be done with it. I've lost about 12 pounds so far and my tummy has shrank a bit which the doc says is good. Wants me to lose as much as I can by Tuesday. I've been losing about 2-3 pounds a day. I've contemplated if the the surgeon will really know if I stick to the diet in the morning, pizza in the evening (don't go overboard) and Saturday on out back to the plan religiously. Has anyone cheated so close to the big day? Is this normal? What was your experience? Please and thank you

I had my pre op appointment this morning! Labs and tour of the surgerical facility, went over the game plan and met with the surgeron. I lost 10 pounds on my pre-op diet and my tummy went down a little bit yay!!. I'm so excited yet so nervous. This is really happening, all set for Tuesday at 5:30am. My parents and surgeon are really excited for me. I'm 25 years old and BMI is 58.5, it's time I take back my life and start living again. Can't wait to start my new life

Usually they tell you how the submitting process will go. Also ideally when you would like surgery. I asked how fast is approval, how soon can I get a date, when are fees due (up front, payment plan, etc), when to start my pre op diet, etc. Congrats and good luck on your journey

Thank you, I live in San Antonio, TX having it done at foundations surgical center with Dr. Gonzalez. Soooo excited. It took me 3 years to finally get to this point and commit. I thought about going to Mexico too but I had to pay bills with my return . Glad I waited though.

congrats on getting a date. I am getting sleeved on 4/10. So excited and nervous. The liquid diet is hard, first week I crashed and burned then realized I HAD to make it work. I feared I'd be that one person that gets on the table and the doctor says nope, can't do it because my liver is too big. I think the first 3 days are the hardest then your body kind of adjusts. I've found that even when i do palm sized meal in the evening I'm full. I do one Protein shake for Breakfast and lunch and in between Water. If I get the case of the munchies I eat sugar free Jello. I find sipping shakes (EAS AdvandEdge) and water with a straw helps me savor it more and I take longer to finish it. Can't wait to see our progress. See you on the losers bench

I know the feeling! I just finished my 6 months and having surgery on 4/10. I found out I had all the stuff the doctor said I would when I was 21 and didn't listen now it's catching up to me at age 25. I don't look at it as a bad thing. Look at it as a good thing, you know what you have and learn how to fix it whether it be with medication or losing weight. This can also help with co-morbids too if your insurance requires you have at least one to have approval. The next 4 months will go by fast and before you know it you'll be on your way to approval and surgery. Good luck on your journey.
