  1. Did my recumbent bike for the day. It actually helped my energy levels. It's so funny the way that works!

Just to see if anybody knows?

once you get all your ducks in a row, the approval process is fairly quick (around 2 weeks), but it can take a while to do all the stuff required by your insurance. For example, my insurance requires a 6 month diet documented by a doctor or nutritionist.

    OUCH - 4 weeks pre-op diet

It gets better. You will adjust even though it doesn't feel like you will. Hang in there!

WOW!! that is an amazing story! thanks for sharing!
  5. Hey, thanks for checking in! Things are going well! I am feeling pretty good, my healing seems to be going well, and I am getting back into the groove of work. On the downside, I seem to be in the dreaded 3 week stall :-( Oh wells...

    New Hair

    omg, soooo cute!!! Love it!!!
  7. i use the Celebrate bariatric chewable multi-vitamins, and I use the Gold Whey protein (24 g. protein per serving). I also just ordered some sublingual b12 as I read somewhere that you don't create as much b12 with the sleeve. Hope that helps!

    Amazing feeling

Wow, you look simply wonderful! Congratulations on all your success!!!
  9. Hitting the recumbent bike this morning. First "real" workout since being sleeved.

  10. I am right there with you! We are in what's known as the "DREADED 3 week stall." Just stay the course, we will adjust.

    Beginning week 3

Right there with you on the 3 week stall... we just need to ride it out
  12. Hey Becca, I haven't been too tired. I've felt fine, in fact. Regarding food, I've been on mushies for a week now, so I haven't had any problems (but I also haven't tried any new foods). I think if you want to try something new, maybe try it in the evening when you aren't at work if you are concerned.

    Ice Cream Maker

Yes, definitely keep us posted! I thought about buying an ice cream maker just so I could make those protein ice creams!
  14. Hey Becca, didn't mean to alarm you with my work post. I am not stressed over the sleeve, it's just been a long time away from work and I have a lot of deadlines looming. Otherwise, I'm just fine :-)

  15. back at work... kind of intense after 3 weeks off!

  16. Just echoing what HopeAndFaith said. It gets so much better after day 3. I think it takes a couple of days to acclimate. You can do it!!

    Back to Work....

I am at 3 weeks (on mushies), and I have cottage cheese, yogurt, refried beans, egg salad and tuna puree (sounds kinda ick, but tastes fine) packed in 1/4 cup containers. I also have SF pudding for a snack. I'll probably also bring a shake so that I can work on getting my protein in.... not a ton of variety in the mushy diet

Mushies already? (1 wk post op)

I started mushies at 14 days, but if your surgeon is comfortable with it, go ahead. Mushies is kind of a slow process, anyway, as my Nut. set it up. I try a new mushy every couple of days. I am working my way up to chicken salad

    Brownbear Post Op Update

Haha, your post cracked me up! Glad you got a "twousie".... It gets easier every day, that's for sure. Sounds like things are going great. Regarding the pain ball, I didn't have one, but I was pretty lucky on the pain front. I was mostly a gassy lassy, so my pain was less about the staples. Anyhow, glad things are going well. Keep up posted
  20. Happy New Year, everyone! Be good to yourselves this year!

  21. Congratulations!!! Way to start the new year off RIGHT!!! WOOT!
  22. Wow, you look great!!! And thanks so much for posting this because I am in the stage of losing and nothing to show for it (still the same size, etc), so I'm now looking forward to turning that corner :-). Truly, you look so fabulous, congratulations!!!!

    64 oz water, really?

It gets a lot easier! I had that same gassy, burpy feeling at first, but it got better. Also, if I have a hard time, I focus more on water than protein. My feeling is that dehydration is worse for you than not getting quite enough protein. Hope that helps!!!

    My life changing year

Wow, I thought you were already at your target!!! You look stunning! Wonderful and inspiring, thank you!
  25. Hiya, I know how you feel !!! I found that there are a lot of good liquid options for getting your Protein. I don't think you have to do the broth or the Jello if you don't want. I wouldn't worry too much about your appetite, it's probably just your body going through its healing process.
