  1. I was sleeved 10 days ago (3/10/11) and feel as if I'm getting worse, not better. Although I'm taking my PPI, I have awakened the last 2 mornings to severe nausea and vomitting around 7 am. Yesterday it was better by 10 am and i could drink liquids and have mushies. Today I am still nauseous, vomitting and cannot even think about drinking anything. In contrast, the first 8 days were pain- and nause- free and I felt fine, although weak. Any suggestions as to what I should do? Thanks in advance for all replies!

  2. You are close to your turn-around time. The morphine allergy did set you back so you really need to sip, sip, sip. Getting at least 64 oz. of liquid will help a lot. The neck pain is likely sitll from the gas but should resolve soon. Keep wakling as it will actually help you need less pain medication. Be sure to use pain meds for pain, not discomfort. The sooner you are off of it the better. I was sleeved on March 10 and had a bad third and fourth day, even without complications. I promise, it will get better! hang in there!

  3. I was sleeved on 3/10/11 and plan to return to work tomorrow, 3/17. Have some problems with acid reflux and nausea but nothing that would intere with work. I manage a medical practice and am up and down a lot during the day. I don't anticipate any problems other than a low energy level. My experience from having worked in a surgical practice for many years is that if you're motivated to return to work sooner, you will probably do fine, barring any medical complications. Be sure to follow lifting restrictions you received from your surgeon. I am 54 and pre-op weight was 276. I have lost 13 lbs since surgery. Hope this helps!
