try a personal trainer if you can afford one? some are experts at getting your body to burn fat efficiently. an efficient workout not just a lengthy one. best of luck to you.

the lap band is just a tool to help you reduce food intake and caloric intake. if youre really only eating 500-600 cal/day, its not a failure. i think youve already made your mind up you want to try something new. most of the failures are ones who continue eating as they did before the lap band and regain what they lost. i am sure there are dr's out there that will perform it if that is what you really want, insurances are another thing.

if youre calories are already low, and that seems kinda too low. not sure how the others will help. they make your stomach smaller so you eat less, but if youre not overeating, then dont know how they would help you. maybe go to a 1000/day diet or try the liquids again for a kickstart. how many fills have you had? hope you find the key that works for you.

i am diabetic, and i have pcos and am insulin resistant(which later led to my diabetes). i got banded on 10-25 and have lost 12 pounds so far and have gotten rid of 2 of my diabetes meds so far and looks good to stop my blood pressure meds. have you had any fills? and you can give up meats and still eat alot of calories. have you tried doing a food diary and writing down every little snack and meal you eat, not skipping anything. i did and realized i was eating more then i thought. maybe you should have your thyroid checked. not sure. if you stuck to the nutrition plan and are excercising 5x a week, dont see why it wouldnt work.

Encouragement please .... only 1 fill no results

try keeping a food diary. it will let you know how much you really are eating if youre honest with it. i found that myfitnesss.com from here and it really helps. and check something out before you eat it, maybe looking at how it affects your total calories, youll change your mind on eating it. maybe keep a semi liquid diet if you were doing well on that. good luck -

well, youve been on liquids and my surgeon had me use magnesia of citrate to get rid of that before surgery.takes time to fill up again i guess. it took me a few days to get a bm. and youre also only drinking liquids if youre on a proper post-op diet. sometimes i think things are going TOO easy and that scares me, lol.

Unsatisfied with the Lap Band surgery!!!!
susan73 replied to poopgirl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
when i started my lapband process, i tried the get thin people, and maybe it was a blessing, but after they dragged me around for over a year and a half, i got disapproved by my insurance. i finally got accepted through oBand and while it took over 6 months to get approved because of the nutrition wait i had to do AGAIN, i am definitely happy with the dr's at oBand. -
how do you get that neat weight loss chart
susan73 replied to lrs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
just click anyone who has one, there are two main sites i think, myfitnesspal.com which helps with calorie counting, including smartphone apps. and the other is ticker something. just click someones ticker and it will send you to the site. -
Shaky, sweating, lightheaded?
susan73 replied to Corrigan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
yesss! i was so happy to get rid of metformin. the thing killed my stomach. got rid of that and amaeryl. next to go is the shot. just be careful your shot doesnt make you go hypoglycemic. it can happen if your blood sugar normals out on its own and still taking the insulin. -

congrats on the 80-100! i cant wait to get my reading under 100. is one of my non-weight goals. i am actually doing this to get rid of diabetes, which means lower blood sugar levels. i started with insulin shots and two oral medications and just with first week, specially with the liquid diet, i am only doing the insulin shots and a lower dose of that. remember most of us have been over indulging and like any drug(yes food can be a drug) youre going to go through withdrawals too. -

my mom was skeptical at first and afraid of me going under surgery. but she came to realize this was something that would help me become healthier in the end and that was most important. hope she turns around, maybe explain to her why or send her some research on the surgery. good luck. -
ooh, gotta try the centrum if theyre orange flavored. but gotta finish my flinstones first.

I'm new here guys :( And I need support
susan73 replied to RockyBalboa's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
are you afraid of the alternatives of not losing weight? do you have any of the weight related health issues? what are your fears? youll get a chance to talk to a psych along the path, maybe discuss your fears with them. i am just starting and its not a cake walk. as they tell you it is a tool to help you lose weight. make sure you do your research and find a good surgeon. that should reduce some of the surgery fears. good luck with your decision! -

youre lucky! alot have the liquid part for 2 or more weeks and 4 weeks before they get to mushies. focus on the 10 pounds you lost and the next pair of lower size jeans youll be able to fit in to. take a walk or go window shopping maybe. just sitting around thinking about it makes it worse. and if four days youre almost to the creamy soups! -
Pre-Op Liquid Diet Encouragement!!! You can do it!

the weigh-ins are rewards. they really tell if youve been chowing down on bread and sweets or sticking to the plan. -
Workout while on Pre-op diet?
susan73 replied to missraefla's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
try a short walk first, probably depends on how you feel. but the fresh air and getting out might get your mind off the lack of solid food. they always make me feel better, even if its just a light walk. -
try different shakes, some are more like Fruit drinks, the Isopure i think. and there is also flavorless Protein you can add to drinks or broth. not sure about the energy, trying to do errands and some stuff, but dreading that first week back to work since i wont have worked in 2 weeks. think i am going to look for those B12 strips before i start back though.

congrats!

keep busy! walking, movies, anything that takes your mind from it. just thinking about it makes it alot worse i think. if theres something that makes you forget it, keep doing that. good luck tho!

Needed Lap Band Center Of Excellence In So Cal
susan73 replied to Taynaydosmom's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had mine with Dr Pham in Tustin, Ca(Orange Co.). He used Chapman Medical Center. It is a COE, as it needed to be for my insurance. The nurses there were very supportive and very nice. click his name in my profile to find out more information on him. and btw, it took me 3 years to get this approved. the first place(the GET THIN people) kind of dragged me around and kept me in the dark for a year and a half only to be denied by my insurance. I went to one my doctor suggested and again insurance block. But I finally found one that was covered by my insurance(CIGNA) and that was oBand. good luck!
