I gagged when I tried to drink the Isopure Clears after surgery. I bought a case that was 50.00 and drank 1. The rest are sitting in the cabinet!

I am one week out today. I don't feel like I have had surgery. Other than the dry heaves the second day, I am feeling unbelievable! I can drink with no pain, and I had 2 tsps of mashed potatoes tonight and they stayed down and didnt hurt! I went back to work 6 days post op. I dont think I really had surgery!
I am ready to get these 65 pounds off!!!
GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!

I had surgery on Tuesday and had MISERABLE gas pains. Thursday I got to come home. As soon as the bumpy ride home and walking worked together, I started tooting like there was no end. I know you hurt, but try to walk just a little every hour or so. It will make a huge difference. Also, if you can get on your side, that helped me get some air out. Here's a warning.....when you start those big ole poots, be careful...liquids in= liquids out! Yes, I am being serious! EWWWWWE!!
You can do this!!

Lissa, that's a great idea! Planning on eating every 3 hours. I can't eat anything for 2 weeks other than some Soup or a Protein Shake but I forget I need something! I love you veteran sleevers!

My sleeve was Wednesday and cold stuff hurts me too! I am drinking room temp bottled Water and my tummy seems appreciative of that. I had dry heaves for 24 hours after my surgery and couldn't drink anything without barfing...even 4 days out, it is getting much easier. You might even try some room temp Gatorade. My doc says if I have trouble drinking, try that. It keeps your electolytes up and helps you feel better. You can do it!!!
:tongue2:

I completely agree with you! Sometimes Mexico is not an option for some folks. I was just letting people know of an affordable surgeon, if they couldn't get to MX. I think a person has to go with whom they believe to be most qualified, regardless of where they are located.
I paid $5500 in MX, which covered all testing, meds, post-op leak tests and a very nice hotel stay the 3rd and 4th day after being released from the hospital. I have NEVER had better or care or an easier recovery. We absolutely have to feel
comfortable about our choice in location and Surgeon. It's not just about where the surgery is performed, or how much the cost, but how many Sleeves the surgeon has done and how much experience, and complication rates. Good luck on your weight loss journey!!

There is a doctor in South Carolina that is doing it all inclusive for 8000.00. Yes, 8000. That's Mexico cheap!

Why are they waiting so long on the CT scan? I had kidney stones back in April and knew the same day. The told me to drink tons and tons of liquids to help it pass. Long story short, ended up having a renal stent to help my body heal, but that was only for a 4 days. ANDDDD if you are found to have stones, a urologist will see you immediately! Try not to let this discourage you! YOU WILL HAVE YOUR DAY!!

I cant wait to put on jeans and wear a cute top that doesn't look like a dress and finish it off with a cute belt. I don't think I have had a waist for 20 years! LOL! Everything I put on makes me feel like I am just trapped in someone who isn't supposed to be me. I hope as I make the downward trek that I can start to realize that HeY! that is me and I like it!

Thanks for all the replies! If I can get down to about 145, I will think I am the skinniest woman on the planet! haha! I am trying to not put an absolute number on my success and hope I can just get to a place where I don't want to throw up when I see my naked body!

All I can say is Wow...how dare he talk to you like that? The fact that he "let's you stay home" is not permission for him to talk to you like dirt, and you be ok with it
. As far as your children go, I am not sure of their ages, but if that is being done in front of them, all that can cause is repeated patterns in them. The sad reality is as much as we try not to be like our parents, we are their children and wired like them.
Sorry you had to endure that.

That is awesome! Sounds like you are doing well! I am so ready to have this done. I will admit, I have moments where I think, "what the heck am I doing??" I have high bp, mild sleep apnea, crappy cholesterol, fatty liver, GERD, basically nonexistent Vitamin D so I tell myself this is the best thing I can do for myself!
Keep working your sleeve!!

Hey Everyone! I am 5'4 and 212 which makes my BMI 36.8. I was wondering if your doctor has given you any idea on the rate of loss you can expect. When I went for my initial consultation, we didn't discuss goal weight or what kind of rate I can expect to lose.
I am currently in the last month of jumping through insurance hoops so HOPEFULLY I will have surgery in March.
Thanks!!

I attended a Seminar with Dr. Lee Schmit on May 21, 2011. I have my initial consultation with him on Tuesday, June 7. Has anyone used him for their surgery? I think he was the first surgeon in Alabama to perform this surgery and between him and his partner, they have done more than anyone else in the State. He seems great and I have heard nothing but good things about him. But, I'd like to talk to someone specifically who used him.
Anyone?
Hi!
I am using his partner, Dr. Miles for my surgery. I am going for my consultation on June 9th! Hopefully, I can have my surgery in July since I am going to be a self pay. I have heard NOTHING but great things about both doctors. Dr. Miles did my seminar and I appreciated how much time he spent answering my questions after he was finished talking. Good luck!!

I am from Hoover and having it done in July!

I know that Dr. Miles and Schmitt at Alabama Weight Loss Surgeries in Birmingham does the sleeve for 14,000 for outpatient and 16,950 if you require an overnight stay. I am using them in July for the sleeve.
