  1. I went for my second fill and the Nurse that did the fill was absolutely horrible! she could not find the port! she was digging and winding the needle- making me make my stomach puff out......I bled and I got a huge bruise! just an awful experience! but on another note......my fill is really working for me......I think I am in the Green zone?

  2. This past Saturday I went shopping for dresses for my two flower girls for my wedding in July. Their mother and grandmother hadn't seen me in a few months and the second they saw me, they started raving about how good I looked. The girls' mother even said "Your stomach is so flat!" I have never in my entire life been told that! That'll definitely keep me going to lose these last 30 pounds!

So Happy for you!!!! you should post an updated pic!

  3. I was banded on 1/26. I'm doin great, had not much pain, no pain meds yesterday or today. All liquids, getting tired of chicken broth for sure. I am going back to work tomorrow, sedentary desk job and I do feel up to it. Just trying to get some calories in.

One thing, and maybe tmi, but I have an iud, and this surgery seems to have triggered my ttotm. It's usually nonexistent, but its rather annoying. More to mess with.

I'm looking foreward to cream of chicken soup!

I'm glad to have people to travel this journey with.

    Start weight 284

    Surgery day 275.5

    First goal 250

I am so with you on the chicken broth!!!! I can't wait until tomorrow, I get to eat applesauce!!!!!! and oatmeal!!!! woot woot!

I am excited and nervous and I have had a headache for a few hours already.... I think I just need to sleep and get ready for the morning! and just chill out! i love my family! they are so supportive. I had planned only working half a day from home today and I have been working all day! so irritated! sorry for being all over the place.....just so many things in my head...

  5. I'm nervous, excited, then calm I will be getting my lapband surgery done this Tues. I have read up all I think I can handle, have talked to several people some with gastric bypass some with lapband. Some with good results, some not soo good. I was supposed to get it right before Christmas but I chickened out and here I am again.

I have to think positively about this, its better for me and those around me. Any suggestions for a newbie?

i am getting banded on the same day!!!! congrats to you and i wish you a speedy recovery! and good luck on your journey!

  6. Hello fellow bandsters! I wanted to say thank you!!! Thank you for your words of encouragement, I am truly thankful for this site and friends. So many questions have been answered. So many have inspired me. I felt like I was the only one feeling the way I do, scared, anxious, worried, excited, nervous, and ready for me to be a healthy me! I'm off my soapbox and just wanted to say THANK YOU!!! I know my journey will be successful!

  7. I was told MM is has too many calories/grams of sugar and not enough protein.... He recommended for me to stay away from MM, Slim-Fast, Boost, Ensure, or Adkins.

He did not say anything about MM Lite- just regular MM......MM Lite sounds really good!

  8. So hubby is on the weighloss bandwagon!!!!! he is watvhing what he eats and we went to the store and is ready to eat healthier! we only purchased chicken, turkey, and fish!

not that I can eat any of it anytime soon! But very happy he is supporting me! We have had several discussions on why I am doing this and what OUR goals are!

Thank you everyone for your comments/advise and just letting me vent!

  9. I am less than a week away from surgery and was told to take in 80G of Protein as well as a list of Soups, broth and a few items such as yougurt cottage cheese even a salad of veggies only as long as I stay with a 6- 1/2 cup serving portions a day. The problem is with no chicken, fish or beef I am not getting close to the 80g of protein and my calories for a day are around 600-800. I drink either an Unjury shake or Slim Fast in the morning and a greek yogurt throughout the day, but I feel like I am missing something. Any suggestions on getting my 80g of protein and what have you been told as far as calories for the week before? Last week I was on a 1400 calorie, there is no way I could do that with this weeks plan.

If you drink a at least 2 Protein Shakes and other stuff you should be good!

  10. I'm confused as to why your surgeon recommended you stay away from it. The mm I drink has 25g protein/ 3G of sugar... Was there something else in it that made him tell you to stay away from it?

  11. Hi, my name is Lisa. I looked into this about 2 years ago and decided this past summer to re-visit the thought of having the Lap Band after many failed attempts before. I am 7 days away from having surgery and am really looking forward to starting a healthier life. At 43, I never imagined that I would be on 2 blood pressure pills, cholesterol meds and have constant back and knee pain that prevented me from enjoying the things I like to do. I am hoping that once this process starts, I will beging feeling like my old self again, before I gained all this weight:(.

Today I started a liquid diet, so far so good, except for all the rumbling sounds, otherwise it's not too bad yet. Any suggestions would be great.

I have pretty much stocked my cabinets with Soup, broth and shake powders for the next month. Yumm001_huh.gif I guess my husband is on his own now for awhile. LOL

Other than that, it has become a count down and I am so ready. This past year has been kind of a hectic time for our family. My son is deployed in Aphganistan, I returned to college after 20 years to start a new career and I am helping my son and his GF, plan their wedding this coming September. Hopefully by then I will have lost enough weight to finally feel good about myself and be able to go dress shopping. Wish me luckteeth_smile.gif

I started my liquid diet today and my surgery is on Tuesday!!!!! 5 days! SO I am excited and nervous too....Best of Luck and speedy recovery for you!

  12. The login with same credentials as here issue has been resolved.

I'm not going to *require* it but I definitely would appreciate if you start using SPT for Plication, Imbrication and iBand discussions. We've mixed other WLS surgeries on LBT in the past and it's ended up causing quite a few controversies and headaches. That's why I started VST. The current topic at hand actually belongs on both forums, since it's a combinitaion of both procedures wink.png

    Its still not working.......
