  1. Good Evening, For all of you that track your calories, how much calories do you consume in a day? I use MFP, and it gives me 1282, and I am never EVER near that. I average maybe half, sometimes more, which usually consists of not so good food. I started eating more calories, and starting loosing again. I haven't had a fill it, so I can eat anything and everything, not that I do, but I have needed extreme willpower lately! I was just curious what everyone is consuming, calorie wise. Thank you!
  2. My surgery was 2/13, and today I have my first appointment with the Dietician and Nurse Practionier. I have already seen the surgeon 10 days after surgery, but that was nothing exciting. I am supposed to get my first fill today, but I have had so many breathing issues that started since the day after surgery. Removing the band is still on the table, so I am thinking they probably won't fill me. I am kinda bummed about that, since the point of having the surgery was to get fills and help me loose weight. However, I can't complain because since surgery I have lost 29lbs in 6 weeks, all while on Prendisone and other multiple steriods! Has anyone not been filled the first time?
  3. Awesome! I just left the plus section myself over the past 2 weeks, and it feels awesome! Great job!
  4. I have only had two drinks since surgery (4wks ago), and one time I ordered a Skinny Margarita, and the second I ordered white wine. It is tricky though because you can't drink when you eat, and you can't drink 30 minutes prior, so I had a hard time figuring it out. I found that I was just holding the drink and not even drinking it, but I still felt like I was part of the group, so it worked out! I hope it helps!
  5. I haven't been able to exercise since my surgery on 2/13 either. I was given the okay from my surgeon on 2/28, but I developed breathing issues from surgery, and the pulmonary doctor said no to exercise for the time being. It does suck when you are so motivated to make changes and you can't do anything about it. I feel your frustration!
  6. I have always had constipation issues, and I try and keep tabs on how long I go. When I hit day 3, I try and take something gentle like a stool softener, but when I hit day 5, I have to take Milk of Magnesia, which works wonders! I would talk to your doctor if it continues and see what the recommend!
  7. I was banded on 2/13. I haven't been hungry per se. I get hungry between breakfast and lunch, and I always eat 5, hungry or not. Right now I am eating 3 turkey sausage links for breakfast, 3 oz of meat for lunch and dinner. I will add a cup of veggies to both meals. I haven't really had to add carbs yet. I am pretty full after 3oz of meat and some of the veggies. I have lost about 25lbs since surgery. Which is pretty good since I have been on prednisone for the majority of the time. I wonder how much I would have lost without having that steriod in me! I can't wait to start exercising again, that should help too. I don't get my first fill until 3/26, so I have about 2 weeks to go!
  8. A month ago today I had my band put on! I couldnt have asked for a better surgery. The actual band placement was a piece of cake. I barely had any pain and my diet progression went off without a hitch. However, I developed breathing issues, which I am still dealing with. I finally went to the gym yesterday after 4 weeks, and felt great, but woke up wheezing like crazy! I go back to Pulmonary Thursday, so hopefully I can get some answers. I can't complain though! I have been on Prednisone for 3 weeks and I still managed to loose 25lbs since surgery, making my total at 48lbs! I am so excited to be almost done with post-op and begin living my new life! Cheers to everyone!
  9. It is just a picture of a plate that my dietician gave me. She called it that. It is half the plate of veggies (1 cup), half the plate protein (1/2 cup), half the plate carbs (1/2 cup).
  10. Just bought a pair of 16 jeans and a bra 3 cup sizes smaller!!! I was a 22 six weeks ago!! Yay!!
  11. I agree with you. I don't think it is what I ate, since I had it in previous days. I just think the time and how fast I ate added to an experience I will never forget!
  12. Can you delete topics you started?
  13. I am just repeating what I was told by a medical professional, but I guess there are other opinions! I was just sharing a comical experience. Oh well!
  14. Well it is ladies! Straight from the dietician's mouth!
  15. I have been doing pretty well since surgery. I don't feel any restriction but I am really strict with how much I eat, so I am still loosing weight. For lunch today I had 3oz of canned chicken breast with a tbs of miracle whip, exactly what I had yesterday. Not even 15 minutes after eating, I thought I was going to die! I was having EXTREME stomach cramps, and was doubled over! Luckily I had my prep period (I am a teacher), so I had no students in the room. I literally ran down the hall, and luckily I made it! I never felt anything like that ever! I got a little nervous, so I called the dietician and she said I just experienced Early Dumping. She said I probably ate too fast and it just went right through! It was crazy. I just laughed! She told me if it happens again I needed to call her because it can cause problems. I was so scared to eat dinner, but I got my 3oz of lean hamburger in tomato sauce down, and no dumping! Geez the stuff that happens without warning! Just thought I would share!
  16. This sounds delicious! I am defintely trying this next week!
  17. I did the lettuce leaves with chicken and onions, instead of tortilla shells for fajitas! It was so good! That is a great idea. I actually went out and bought some celery. I totally forgot about celery in chicken and tuna salad. That should give me just the crunch I need! Thanks everyone!
  18. I'm off of mushed as of today. I followed the diet profession to a T! I am just looking for a good crunch to add.
  19. Good Morning! Today I am finally able to chew food!! I am having ground been in gravy for lunch, and I couldn't be happier. I am trying to broaden my food choices, so I bought some tuna and canned chicken breast. However, I always so used to eating it on a toasted sandwich with pickles and chips inside for crunch. I am one of those people that need my food to crunch. I obviousley can't do the toast and chips, but do you think I could put the tuna or chicken on a cracker? I know people have said crackers and bread are hard to eat after banding, but I figured if I only gave myself like 4 crackers, and really chewed it to mush, how that would be. Any thoughts?
  20. I had to stay one night, but ended up staying two nights because I was having breathing issues.
  21. I am definitely not! I saw the surgeon and an allergist, and they said its 99% impossible for me to be allergic to the band, so it will not be removed! Phew! I hit 40lbs yesterday since 1/14/12, so I was so nervous! However, my breathing issues haven't been resolved. I went back to Pulmonary yesterday, and I am still wheezing pretty bad after being on inhalers, nebulizers and steriods. They said my lungs may have been injured during the surgery when the anesthesia tubes were inserted. I was given another round of steriods and I go back next Friday. If I am still wheezing, I will have to have a camera inserted into my lungs and see if there is any damage or blockages or masses. This kinda freaks out seeing I will be awake! They said if they find anything, I will have to be put under so hopefully my body just needs an extra week of steriods! Anyway...thought I would share since so many of you were concerned and so supportive when I initally posted. Thank you again!
