Anyone Preggers Or Been With Lapband?
Hello! I am about 5w1d pregnant. The past few days I have been pretty bloated. With the bloat I am having a lot of discomfort at my port site. Not sure if this normal or not. I can't even imagine when I start getting really big. Has anyone experienced this?

Oops I Wasn't Very Careful...
I am about 8 months post-op. I've lost about 85 pounds so far. I've been so happy and outgoing since the weight loss. With being so outgoing I've had a lot of fun! A few times this month my hubby and I weren't very careful. Needless to say, I'm 10 days until my period and feeling bloated, nausea and moody. I looked back to my calendar and the days we had "too much" fun, were my fertile days. I was definitely done having kids that's why I got Lapband surgery. Has anyone been pregnant post Lapband? I know you can after but was just curious how it all worked. I have had 2 fills with absolutely no restriction. Any advice would be helpful...just in case!

Band Slip Question...
Thanks everyone! I did liquids/soft foods, and I was fine! I think my period was the culprit!

Band Slip Question...
I have been feeling nauseaous lately. I did have a binge episode on Thursday night, and at first I thought I may have just drank too much, but now everytime I eat, I get so nauseaous after. I can still eat and drink, but I am full super fast and then I get naueasous. I was thinking I should do no solids and protein shakes for a day or so, and see how I feel. I have just never felt like this. I also got my period, and since my weight loss, my periods have been intense. Any thoughts? Now I know I shouldn't have binged, I know that, so if anyone has had a band slip or any thoughts on that, I would appreciate that. Thanks!

Is This True?
- Surgery
Everyone has those doubts. When it is all done and over, I knew there was no turning back, and I was determined to make EVERYTHING I went through leading up to surgery was worth it. Good Luck! You will do amazing!- Scales At My Primary Drs Office
I would just pick one and go with it. My WLS office has me 10lbs over what I am at home, but since I weigh myself at home more, they told me to go by that one. So whatever one you use the most, go with that.- Help!!!!
I am in the same boat. I just had a fill 6/20, which brings me up to 5cc, and I got nothing! I have been bouncing between the same 2lbs for about 2 weeks. However, I keep telling myself, "At least I am not gaining!" My insurance changed and my fills which cost $10, are now full price, so my appointment on July 19, will be a hard pill to swallow, but hopefully I can get some restriction and not always be hungry! A few times I just ate whatever I could get my hands on, and I got stuck twice, and the pain was unbelievable! However, it snapped me back into reality, and I try really hard to hit the gym 5 days a week, and stick to the diet. I feel as long as I am not gaining, then I will get through it. I hope this helps!- Is This True?
I lost a lot of hair after surgery. It hit at about 3 mths post-op. My doctor told me I lost a lot of weight too quick, and I had a rough recovery after. They told me to take Biotin, and it has been working awesome. My hair isn't falling out as much, and my hair dresser said she can see new growth coming in. It is pretty cheap. I get the Target brand, it was like $3! Hope this helps!- Newbie Bandster But Pcos Since 1993
I had PCOS as well. I never had a normal period in my life. My cycle varied from 18-91 days! I was put on Clomid to conceive my son, and my daughter just happened to be concieved on a weird ovulation moment! I had my band put on 2/13/12, lost about 70lbs, and I have lost all my PCOS symptoms! My periods are regular without the use of any drugs! I am not on birth control (I had a blood clot), and no IUD. My doctor said that once I started loosing weight my PCOS symptoms would fade or be non-exsistent, and they defintely did! I did the surgery more for my overall health and emotional state, but this was an added bonus! Good luck to you!- Has The Band Actually Worked For You?
1. How long have you been banded? I was banded 2/13/12, so about 4mths 2. How much weight did want to lose? 108 lbs 3. How much weight have you lost? 69 lbs (25 lbs are pre-op weight loss) 4. How happy are you that you have been banded: scale of 1-10 (1 being regretful, 10 being elated) 7- I had a lot of health problems directly after surgery, and it took awhile for the problems to resolve. I did loose 45 lbs after surgery, but I was told that it was all me, since my band was completely empty and tests showed zero restriction. I was finally able to get a fill about 3 weeks ago, but it didn't do anything. I am hoping once I get to a good restriction, I can change my 7 to a 10, since this is getting harder without restriction!- I Got Stuck Today...ouch!
I just waited it out. It took care of itself. I don't drink soda, but I had some of my husbands one day and I was totally fine. Didn't do anything to me.- I Got Stuck Today...ouch!
I went to the mall with my sister and niece. I don't have restriction and I can eat anything without issue, well I thought anyway. I actually choose something not too bad at the food court, but O...M...G... I think I ate too much, too fast and took big bites. I was having severe pains in my stomach for at least 45 minutes. I couldnt take a big breath or anything. Eventually I started burping, and with every burp I got more relief. Right now, I feel back to normal, but I can't even think of eating anything! That was just so intense and the whole time I thought I was either going vomit or just keel over! It is amazing how natural consequences can really change your way of thinking! Just thought I would share!- Amanda61082's Before and After Pics
My Before & After Photos!- Dear 200's And My 20's,
Dear 200's and my 20's, I have been with both of you for ten years. We have been through a lot. I made a list: -Met my husband -9/11 -My husband being overseas -Graduating with my Bachelors -My father suffering a stroke in his brain stem -Getting married -Moving across the country -Buying a house -Having my handsome son -Moving back home -My son having a gran mal seizure in my arms, and starting a rollar coaster of appointments and specialists -Having my beautiful daughter -Buying another house -Experencing the fear of my father undergoing an aorta replacement and triple bypass surgery -My son being seizure and medication free -Having ankle surgery -Witnessing someone pass away -Suffering from a blood clot -Graduating with my Master's -Having lapband surgery that has and will continue to change my life forever We have been through so much over the past decade, and even though some times were amazing and life changing, I am ready to move on and start a new chapter. I am 3 weeks from 30 and 1.5lbs away from 199, and I can't help that them happening at the same time is a sign. A sign that I am ready to begin my new life with my husband and kids, and experience life healthier and happier with my friends and family. So Good-bye 200's and my 20's, it has been real, but it is time I move on. Amanda- Teacher Appreciation Week
Thank you! I didn't even know it was Teacher Appreciation Week until I saw a card made by the Future Teacher's of America club in my mailbox! Happy Teacher Appreciation Week to all my fellow lapband Teachers!- Don't Know If This Question Will Be Redundant...
I am PRAYING I get my first fill on Thursday. I had my surgery on 2/13, and when I was supposed to get my first fill, they said no because I was loosing on my own, and I was still have breathing issues from surgery. My pulmonologist cleared me for a fill yesterday, so that should be happening Thursday. I have been so hungry and the scale isn't moving, which is good, because my choices haven't been the best, so at least I have maintained! Anyway...my question is, is there food I should stay away from, or should I not eat within a specific time frame of the fill? I know after I should have soups and such, but I was just curious about before. Also, how long does the fill actually take? Since they are just injected saline, I am assuming not long, but I wanted to hear from some veterans. Thank you for all your help!- Curious If Anyone Experienced This...
I am not really concerned about the constipation, more of the nasuea and taste constantly in my mouth. Plus, being constipated for the majority of my life, my Miralax doesn't work anymore. Thank you for your feedback though!- Curious If Anyone Experienced This...
I have always had problems with constipation, but since my surgery, it has gotten worse. I took some Milk of Magnesia on Friday, and since then I can still taste it. Everytime I eat, it gets really intense and I get super nauseaus. I thought of acid reflux, but I am already on double dose of Prilosec, for potential aspiration causing breathing problems. I haven't had a fill yet, I am going next week for my next follow-up, but I have no idea whats going on. Any thoughts?- I Think I Have Hit Bandster Hell...
Good Morning, I had my surgery 2/13/12, and have been loosing steady ever since. Was never hungry, stuck the plan, never cheated, I felt great. Since Easter, I noticed that the scale stopped moving and that I am able and want to eat everything in sight. I even found myself reverting back to my old behaviors. It was like I woke up one morning and just let go of all the good habits I gained. I haven't gained any weight, but I am just hanging in limbo. I wasn't given a fill at my last appointment becasue I was loosing so much on my own, but now I am thinking it's time. Is this how it is when you need a fill? I never feel full anymore, I can eat anything and my "full" feeling is gone. I just wanted to get some input from people who have been there. Thank you! P.S. I also haven't been excercinsing like I know I should, I just need a kick in the butt!- I Think I Have Hit Bandster Hell...
