  1. I couldn't drink until I was about 3 months out. We are all different. Wine and liquor still burn too much going down, but I can drink beer with no problem. And I do get drunk much faster, but I sober up within an hour or two.
  2. I stall about every 3 weeks for a week. To break it, I increase protein and water then BAM! 5 pounds falls off like overnight. Until I gain about 2.5 back and stall again....
  3. I'm 4 months post op and shedding like crazy! I have very thick hair and lose about two handfuls a day. I can definitely tell it's getting thinner, but it's not coming out in chunks and I have no bald spots. I talked to my NUT today, and I am upping my protein from 65g to 80g a day, and adding Zinc and Biotin supplements. She said the loss shouldnt last long.
  4. When I had ssimilar pain during the liquid phase, it was the way my sleeve was swollen. It wasn't exactly a stricture, but more like an hourglass. The liquid would pool on the top part of my sleeve, then hurt like hell squeezing down to the bigger, bottom part. It lasted about two weeks. I thought it was gas and even tried infant colic drops. Eventually it all evened out and I've been good to go ever since!
  5. The worst for me was the liquids and mushies phase. I couldn't wait to get back to normal. Other than that, no regrets. I love my new tummy. I cannot overeat, which was always my problem. I now eat to live instead of live to eat!
  6. I'm at a stall too for the past 3 1/2 weeks but feeling pretty good otherwise!
  7. Do the uncontrollable gurgles after eating ever go away? It's so embarrassing to accidently have a gurgle/burp fall out of your mouth when talking. If they don't go away, does anything help keep them to a minimum?
  8. My doctor's office told me it would be about a week before I could get all of my fluids in. I'm almost 6 weeks out and can only get about 30-40oz in.
  9. Happy Birthday! I will be 4 weeks on Monday and have lost 16 pounds. I try to walk 2 miles a day but just started that this week. I did stall for a week and the scale finally moved 1 pound this morning
  10. I'm so sorry you're having such a horrible experience! Do you mind sharing what you're going through and what problems you're having?
  11. You can control it by listening to your sleeve and not overfilling it with food and drink. It only took one time to teach me!
  12. Oh, and you have to keep in mind we didn't gain it all overnight so it's not going to come off overnight. The scale might not be moving but use your clothes as a guide. You may be gaining muscle and losing inches. Besides, slower weight loss means less saggy skin Stay positive!
  13. Don't be discouraged. While I'm one of those down 15, I'm only 3 weeks out. I lost 10 in my first week and only 5 the last two. I've read a lot about stalling at the 3rd week while your body adjusts and guess what? I'm there. Just stick to your plan, drink your fluids, get your walking in, and the pounds will come off. We are in this together!!!
  14. Not sure what the foamies are, but I had the slimes a couple days after surgery. I was so swollen and full, that I was spitting up white foamy slime. I've heard this happens when you're too full. Haven't had them since.
  15. I think the only thing I used while there were my slippers and my phone. Never took my kindle out of my bag, and didn't get dressed until I left. The gown was big enough it covered everything so I didn't even use my robe or anything while up walking. I actually slept as much as I could.
  16. We are in week 3!! How's everyone doing? I ended up taking an extra week off work. Had a hard time progressing from liquids to soft mushies because my sleeve had swollen in an hourglass shape, but much better now and feeling pretty good! Energy is coming back! Still can't get all of my fluids in, but I'm working on it. Finally started walking 2 miles a day...better late than never! Hope you are all doing great!!
  17. I had a piece of soft, canned chicken get stuck a couple of days ago but it only lasted for a few minutes. To me, it hurt in a sharp pain in the center of my chest and burned almost like heart burn. I drank some room temp apple juice and it dislodged it pretty quickly, but then I was too full and miserable for about 30 minutes.
  18. I'm at my 3 week stall as well. Scale hasn't moved in 4 days BUT my clothes are getting baggy . I know I need to increase my water so working on that. And I finally started walking 2 miles a day. I know I was late on that, but better late than never!
  19. I love my Magic Bullet and use it every day. Great for protein shakes, blending soups, etc.
  20. I'm having similar pains but on my left side where there are two incisions. It's just sore and achy. My other incisions don't hurt, not even the big one. I hope it's just healing pains.
  21. So worried about hair loss. I have thick hair so I'm sure I could afford to lose a little but still. I can't get all of my protein in no matter how hard I try. I'm only one week out so I'm sure it's still tough at this point since my sleeve is still swollen but still. Guess I will add some biotin to my daily routine. A lady I work with was sleeved last April and didn't have hair loss until about a month ago. I think she has let up on the protein thinking she was in the clear. I won't make that mistake!!
  22. Hey sleeve buddies! I went for my one week check up on Monday. Everything going well. So far I'm down 10 pounds since surgery. Woo hoo but damn I am sick of liquids! Bring on the mush! Doctor said technically I start on Monday but he wouldn't be opposed if I started on Friday as long as I can tolerate it. Blended soup is so not appetizing but it does the job. Learning my new tummy is interesting. Strange sensations but no pain and just a little discomfort from time to time. Has anyone else noticed bad hunger breath since surgery?
  23. I was self pay. $9500 covered surgeon's fee, anesthesia, 1 day hospital stay, pathology and radiology. I also work for the hospital I had it done at so I got a bit of a discount, but not much.
