    Hi,
Well, first of all congratulations. You are definately at the right place to go for any questions you have about VSG. Pre op all I did was read about it, talk to people who had wls, and watched every YouTube video I could find.
I think the best thing was how prepared I was and how much I wanted to do it. There was no doubt, so I never got the blues after. The pre op diet sucked. I did 2 weeks which is hard because your hungry and you want to have "food funerals" but I was so afraid they would cancel the surgery that I did well and lost 12lbs. The surgery went great. The first day your just exhausted because of the anesthesia but you need to walk because the
gas pain is pretty bad. After they took the catheter out I got up and walked during the night because there was less people around. Once they took the iv's out and the drain they put in one of the incision it was much more comfortable to move.
Seriously, I had the surgery on a Tuesday came home on Thursday and on Friday went to the grocery store with my hubby. I walked slow and didn't lift anything but I was out. We went to target on Saturday, Monday I was cleaning my house and on Wednesday I went back to the gym to walk slowly on the treadmill.
My surgery was on Nov 1, and so far from before preop I have lost 52lbs. I wish I had done this years ago. It amazes me that I can eat whatever I want just in very small amounts and lose weight. I do alot of Protein and I work out 5 days a week and I feel great. You will be VERY happy.
If you want to friend me on Facebook, I am part of a group of women who are in all stages of the surgery. Pre thru years. It's a great group and I can add you if you want. Good luck. You will definately not regret it!!! My Facebook name is Sandra jean wood Williams.

I am three months out and I do both of these. I usually share now instead of getting an appetizer. My head is still bigger than my stomach and I still think sometimes I can still eat so I "want" to order a separate thing but I have learned that that is just wasteful. I cant even eat much of an appetizer, so sharing is a good thing. Also, I tell them I had stomach surgery and ask permission to order from the kids/seniors menu sometimes. The portions are way smaller and it costs less. Sometimes they have good choices like grilled chicken, etc on them too.

Well I got it done and so far I feel really good. The pain isn't as bad as I expected, and neither is eating. I swear I still feel hunger pains and feel like I could eat. Which I know I can't but, I feel like I could try. I'm not nauseous or dizzy, just gassy. The first 2 days I was tired but today I went to 2 stores with hubby and did some errands. So I guess it was a success I just want to start losing weight. I haven't lost anything since 12.5 lb preop diet, but all I've had since coming home last night was 2 protein drinks, 1 cup broth, a small applesauce to take my pills in and a pudding. I will have more protein later. Gotta lose weight on that, right???

I can't believe it is finally here! Tomorrow morning at 6:00am I will getting my relaxing meds and getting my sleeve at 7:30. All the hours of reading everyone's posts and waiting for my turn to come is finally here. So its liquid only day... That's gonna be a tough one. It also stinks that it's Halloween and I have to take my 11 year old trick or treating without raiding the candy bag!!! Gotta get myself to bed early and keep busy during the day to keep my mind off of it. Not bringing an Internet device to the hospital so I can't update from there but as soon as I get home I will tell the story of my success. see y'all in a few days. Say a prayer and wish me luck.

I had my sleeve 4 days ago. I am a surgery nurse so I know a whole more then most of what can go wrong. I was never really scared, just so happy that this is available. I am also 65 and I do not want to be on the sidelines any more. We travel a lot and I have a hard time keeping up. Also, I love clothes and want to start looking good in them. I take no meds, but my BP was creeping up and I do not want joint replacements from all the wt. that is on them. The most fun is that we live out of state from all family, so it will be really exciting when we see them. Step daug and family are first in the middle of Dec., and I should be about 50 lbs. down by the, enough to notice. I am looking foward to 6 mos. out, when I can eat anything, just in tiny portions, but remember you are also going to be full with that.

Well honesty seems to be the best policy, USUALLY. If you love the guy and want to further your relationship then you are eventually going to have to tell him something, and the scars on your belly are going to be hard to explain otherwise. Be wise, tell him you are concerned for not only your looks but your health as well and needed a tool to help you lose weight. You will be restricted for 6 months or so and then after that you CAN eat a healthy portion of a meal - and by "healthy portion" I mean a CORRECT portion instead of the mounds of food we all ate pre-sleeve. So the dining out won't be an issue for long, besides you also tend to enjoy food MORE and the company and surrounds MORE when not fixated on the food any ways.

About sex, I would advise at least waiting till after you get out of the recovery room Wait till YOU are ready, most sleevers feel pretty crappy for a while and while they may PHYSICALLY be able to do the horizontal mambo they sure don't WANT to do it. So give yourself a few weeks at least and then go slowly, no gymnastic moves or anything like that.

I can only hope I lose like that!!! I know the feeling... My husband never dated heavy girls and for years he wanted me thin but I just think he's forgotten how good I looked all those years ago. We've been together 21 years and was plump when we met but no where near as big as I am now. I'm glad you are still working out and taking care of yourself, I love working out and plan to continue since I need it for my mental health also. I cant imagine getting too thin, because I really don't want things to sag to much. I'm hoping all the weight training will pay off on the long run. And your right, he is a good guy and he loves me so I'm sure things will work out. I just wish he wouldn't add more stress to this stressful time.
