  1. I felt the same way but I thought about how I would feel if I did not have it done and truly that was a worse reality for me. I also wrote my kids a goodbye letter, not only did I not share that I was having surgery (they are grown) but just knew I was going to die and did not want them to wonder why I did not share , so now 7 weeks post op. I ripped up the letter when I got home. I am almost 40lbs down since I started my pre op diet and get nervous about other stuff now, like can I really fit in this new bathing suit. It says my size now but no way can it be.... lDon't be scared.

  2. Really sorry you are feeling like this. My husband is also lean and has never had a weight issue. He can eat anything and also go long periods of time without anything to eat. He jst does not understand.

I am seven weeks out and for me anyway I can say is head hunger does get easier. I personally have noticed how very much resilliant the human body (and mind) really are. One day it will click that you have made this change, it is like you mentally still have to except it. Right now your mind is fighting it.

Kinda like quitting smoking and getting rid of the nicotine.

When you are not feeling all @#$%#$^& maybe right down the things you miss. That is what I did.

This sounds crazy crazy crazy but I started watching all these food show subconsiously not realizing why and then one night I just started crying like a baby over DRIVE INS, DIVES AND DUMPS (?). The cooking show where the guy drives all over everywhere for the best restaurant food.

Your in the midddle of mourning food, I think it is very normal. I must say though that a lot of people don't get a handle on that and might sabotage there weight loss so really look into it if things don't change but right now I think it is very common where you are at. Hang in there and do not be so hard on your self.

    Again, this to will pass.

I will be praying for you!!!

  3. Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to give a little update for some who might wonder how it is after being sleeved. I recall, not to long ago wondering how I might feel a month or two out.

First let me say, I went to Mexico, had surgery with Dr. Kelly.

I lost 12lbs preop (if I recall right lol). Since the time I was sleeved I have lost 25 more lbs. I am tickled.

I was on liquids for 2 plus weeks and around the 3rd week I started mushies. About 4 weeks I started soft foods. So far this has been a blessing but my sleeve has tolerated EVERYTHING. I have not ate one thing that has bothered it. I must say that I do pretty much stay by the book. I eat Protein first always. I have tried a lot of different foods. I even can eat not huge amounts but never have I ever felt like I was going to be ill. I do feel sometimes that I have had enough.

I did take 4 weeks off from work. I am a server at a very high volume restaurant and also clean houses for a living. Very physical work. I have no problems with energy level being low. I get in all my vitimans, protein and liquids. Everything has went almost to smooth.

If I did say I have had an issue it is that I continue to deal with Constipation ( sorry if TMI).

Some NSV's (non scale victories) that I am so happy about are

    1) I measured before and then a month after surgery and had lost 14inches total.

    2) I went from a 20 tight, probably 22 to a 16 wide easily

    3) My husband is lean , no weight issues and now finally after many years I way less than him. YEahhh. He is tall but .... who cares I weigh less.

    4) I have been walking atleast 3 miles aday, sometimes twice a day now and have started jogging also. ME JOGGING, CAN NOT BELIEVE IT!!!

    5) I can sleep all nite now, I also can sleep lying down, not with a bunch of pillows sitting me up.

    6) I can not believe I am going to say this but..... for the first time I feel attractive. It is not how I look but how I feel about myself. I can breath and not huff and puff when I walk.

    7) Oh yeah, I can cross my legs...lol. I love this.

    8) Okay... I am going to say it kinda.... lol , by choice I have not been getting a lot of sleep. Not only am I happy, my husband is a very happy man these days. Something woke up, my hormones have been screaming. ok I am done. :)

  4. I felt the same way. I am 6 weeks out. I gained a little, then lost it. You can not so much feel the restriction because your insides are numb like from the surgery and when you start taking in more and time goes by you will see.

Remember, this is very important, You body (stomach) just went through a total over haul , It is screaming inside to feel like it did for how old you are, it is freaking out right now resisting change.

Be patient, do what you are suppose to do and it will work!!!!

    best wishes :)

  5. Hi,

I struggled with starting to lose , getting excited then gaining a few without losing them all . It was very frustrating. I was told (and believe) that your body is in shock. You are eating less, had 85% of your stomach cut out, exercising and on top of that, eating only healthy things. It is like your body does not know if it is coming or going. It will settle down. Do not get discouraged. I do not know how old you are but you were the "other way" for that many years, now you have altered system only for a few weeks, your body is adjusting, that is what it is. Be patient and kind to yourself. Let the worry go.

This is a short time out for us (sleeved 02/04) , I thought it was never going to turn around. Just keep doing what you are doing. It turns.

I eat as much as you , I worried . My sleeve sister eats, a small kids yogart for Breakfast, 1cracker w/ little turkey and a 1/2 taco for dinner and I was freaked out thinking what........ I eat way more than that. I am about at 700 cal. a day easy.

Some of the long time sleevers on here, just the other day said do not worry about calories so much, Protein first ALWAYS and get your fluids in, continue doing what your doing, it will work!!!!

    Hope this helps.

    :)

  6. Awesome job!! I need to do measurements... I have mine from when I started my 6 month weight loss program pre-op... Maybe I'll do that tonight...

    Wow Favordone!!!

You are looking good. I love your new pic. I bet you get all sorts of attention.....lol, we gotta love our sleeve's huh? lol

  7. I was sleeved on Feb 4th , 2012. I decided to take my measurements on Feb 12th, when I got home and was feeling better. Well I took them yesterday, Mar 12, one month later and although I did not lose as much weight as I thought I would considering my pre op diet lose, I was amazed by the inches I lost. I lost a total of 14 inches this month. 5 inches in my waist alone.

Some of you had impressed on me the inportance of NSV's ,now I totally understand why!!!! I feel great!!!!!

  8. I brought a small bag with me that included a heating pad. I f you do not bring one, then you will need it lol. It actually helped me a great deal and I was so glad I brought it. I was also sleeved by Dr. Kelly. I love him. He was awesome. He cared for me way more than I ever expected!!!!

If you pack lite, which I did you only have to bring a carry on.

I brought zip up light robe, nite gown footies (instead of slippers to save room) I wore lose pants, with waist bann there and wore the same ones home just another shirt and underclothes. I stayed mostly in my room so maybe one or two outfits, if your up to going anywhere. It is good to walk, and the hotel is nice enough so we walked the halls and up and down the street (very close). My husband showed me how to roll everything up like they do in the military. lol . I brought no makeup, no blow dryer, just gas x strips. I can not remember what else. Hope this helps.

  9. Hey there,

Can you please take a screen shot of what you see when this is happening? To take screenshot, you can follow the directions here: http://www.wikihow.c...crosoft-Windows

Also, do you know what browser you're using (and which version of that browser) and what size your monitor is?

    Thanks!

The same thing is happeneing to me. Right now as I write I can not see some of the words. No, I do not know the questions you ask, I am not that familiar with computers. I know my version is outdated. I see 4 small blocked adds and it says recent blog entries in purple and recent topics in purple also. Could it be OUR computers if it is happening tomore than just one peroons' computer? I was told I have windowsxp32 in think if that helps. I do not have windows 9 and can not get it on this computer. If you do contact me back , if you talk a lot of lcomputer lingo I most likely won't understand a word your saying. This is really agrravating though. I can post but can not see about a 3rd of what I am writing on the left side, coverd by ads. thanks for any help

  10. Hi,

I waited a day or two to post that I reached onederland. Very excited but a little sceptical because my weight has been fluctuating the entire time. I eat right, I exercise, drink lots, get in my protien. Not many issues, maybe except for Constipation (sorry if TMI).

I post I am 198, so excited, and that officailly means I claim it and believe it. I know I can not gain it back. I worked harder, exercised more and ate less yesterday than I have since I have been sleeved. I also drank a ton yesterday.

What happens, I wake up this morning 199.6 , yikes.

Do any of you lose two, then gain one, the entire time. I never never just go down, down. I am either stuck or gain one of my two pound loss back. It is so aggravating!

I have no reason to complain and actaully satisfied when I look at the big picture (my ticker). I never could of lost what I had without my WONDERFUL sleeve! :)
