Oh no!! I'm so sorry. I already knew that I couldn't use the tape. I had a Previous surgery years ago and had that reaction. It was red and puffy even blistered. I told Dr prior abbot it and we used the glue. I'm post op 10 days. One is just starting to peel away.I'd call your Dr maybe he can give you something! Hope it gets better soon[emoji17]
Couple of mine are blistery. I am kicking myself bcuz I had this reaction a few years ago too. I can’t remember what dr had me do tho...keep it dry & covered, neosporin & covered? Or did he prescribe something. Ugh. Wish I could remember. Guess I’ll be calling him tomorrow. The pic shows only left side...I have 4 incisions & my WHOLE stomach is like this[emoji22]

I’m tomorrow too! Extremely excited!

I am 3 months out from the GSV procedure and will be having a hysterectomy at the end of this month. Does anyone know if I should expect any recovery issues? The procedure will be done robotically and I am keeping my ovaries.
Is this something my Bariatric surgeon should know about?
I am backwards to your procedures. Had a hysterectomy yesterday & scheduled for VSG next Monday. Hasn’t been that difficult or super painful so far and having surgery yesterday & not being very active has helped me with the liquid diet part.
How are you recouping? Which recover is worse?

I’m December 18 too! Super excited! The next five days are going to be long waiting for the day to come!

I’m new to the sleeve part of BP. I had a lapband 6 years ago, had to have it removed beginning of November due to slipping and now I am scheduled to be sleeved on December 18. Super excited! This is my third day on liquids, only four more days to go and then it’s surgery day!

Hi! I'm relatively new, but been moving through the process for about 9 months. Surgery is on Wednesday. I've been excited for this for awhile--but now I'm getting nervous. I'm thankful my dr. doesn't have a 2 week liquid diet because 2 weeks no carbs, no sugar has been hard enough. liquids only tomorrow!
Let us know how surgery went!

Hi I am Lisa and I'm having my Gastric bypass surgery December 12th. This liquid diet is killing me. I am so sick of Protein Shakes popsicles broth and Jello. Is there any secrets out there to make these things taste a little more glamorous? I have just a couple of more days to go. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

16 years!!! Wow! Congratulations! Have you sustained your weight loss?

My VSG is scheduled on 1/8 and I have bought the two weeks of Bariatric Advantage shake mix from my surgeon but have heard the first three days are the hardest. I have been trying to sub in Premier Protein shakes this week to mentally start to prep but would love to know if any of you have advice for getting through the liquids or how you use the shake mixes so you're not starving, especially after dinner. I am concerned that I am going to fail between dinner and bed time and would love some advice from you guys. Thanks so much.
My biggest hurdle is between dinner & bed too. Sucking on SF popsicles when I want to eat is helpful for me. You can have up to six and still stay under 100 calories!

I just got home earlier today. I'm getting nausea when I sip Water, but haven't thrown up yet.
I get killer pain on my right side under the rib cage when I breathe in. Anyone else experience this?
Might be gas pains you’re feeling from the laparoscopic surgery. I’ve heard a lot of people complain about pains in that area, up to the neck & shoulders.

I am scheduled for sleeve Dec 18, by Dr Perez at Renew Me/Oasis Hospital. Anyone else?
-
I have a date of Dec. 18th. Excited but very nervous. Can't believe I'm going to do this- yet I've tried so many other things over the past several years. Worried about telling my family members (sisters, etc). because I think they won't want me to do it.
Does anyone know if you can take your regular medications the night you are in the hospital? I take daily preventative meds for Migraines.
I’m Dec 18 too!

The hospital I'm having my surgery at (on Monday) is "designated by the American College of Surgeons Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program as an Active MBSAQIP Center." It also has a five-star rating and an excellence award on HealthGrades. The hospital itself is almost new, beautiful, and it's ranked in the top 10 percent nationally for safety. My surgeon is the head of the department and people rave about him. (He's also quite cute!)
Okay, the last thing wasn't a factor, just a nice bonus :-)
You don't say what location you are considering--are you looking at Mexico as a possibility? There are definitely good reports by many who have been there--keep checking this site, and you'll see what people have to say.
Who is your dr and facility?
How’d surgery go? Were you happy with the facility & service?

I’ve wondered the same thing...
I had the band for 6 years, hit goal weight by losing 100 pounds, kept it off 2 years and have gained back 60 pounds over the past 2 years. I had to WORK HARD to get the last 20 pounds off...many long hard hours in the gym! People seem to lose faster with the sleeve & since I only want to lost about 60-65 pounds, I wondered...how do I stop losing with the sleeve? With the band, I had the Fluid taken out.
How has the last 35 lbs gone? Are you still losing?
-
Had a lap band, it slipped so I had it removed last week. I’m leaning towards Mexico Bariatric Center for a sleeve...want to hear your thoughts! Good or bad experience, I want to hear it!!
Thanks!

Update: My band has slipped and my port is flipped Surgery Tuesday to remove my band.

Thanks Berry78, I had my gallbladder removed years ago.
Matt Z...I don’t seem to have any problem with liquids so I guess i’ll be on a liquid diet until I see my doc Saturday. 😝

Thanks Matt. I did make an appt with my dr. Just trying to get some idea of what’s going on from people who have lived this! Of course, my luck, my surgeons are out of town speaking at a conference for a week & since I don’t want to see anyone else, i’ll be struggling through another week.
Thanks for your quick response.

I have been banded six years. For the last couple months I get nauseous almost every time after I eat. Does not matter what I eat or how much I eat, I get nauseous about 30 minutes later. I have never had any problems with my band… No throwing up, no nausea, no PB, very few incidents of food getting stuck, etc. All in all, I’ve had a great LB experience (except for gaining half the weight back that I lost).
Any idea why I might all of a sudden have nausea after 6 years?

What's the cost? I had the lapband 6 years ago, but have gained a lot of the weight back & want a revision to the sleeve. Of course, my insurance no longer covers any WLS, so I will need to pay out of pocket.

I started putting a prescription cream I have, Silvadene (sp?) on it yesterday & finally I see some improvement!
YES! It’s itching like crazy!!!
