Kaiser may do it for free or a small fee. One of my co-worker just had it done thru kasier. If the excess skin is causing rashes or any other skin problems and you maintain your weight loss for 1yr or longer they'll cover it, and may depends on what type of coverage you have...good luck!

I hope you feel better. 2 days post op in my opinion is too soon also my doc opinion. I was on Clear Liquids for 1wk then I advanced to full liq. If full is too much for you go back to clear liq I don't think it will hurt you, but check with your doc...take care

DRAMAGIRL28 YOU LOOK GREAT..DO TELL, WHERE DID YOU GET YOUR BLACK OFF THE SHOULDER TOP??

IT ALL DEPENDS ON WHAT YOUR INSURANCE REQUIRE. MINE REQUIRED A PSYCH EVAL,NUTRITIONAL CONSULT AND BMI WITHIN A CERTAIN RANGE. YOUR SURGEON WILL REQUIRE DIFFERENT TESTS AS WELL. HOPING TO SUMMIT PAPER WORK THIS WEEK :biggrin5: HOPE THIS HAS BEEN HELPFUL..GOOD LUCK!

DO WHAT'S BEST FOR YOU , BECAUSE IF THE SHOE WAS ON THE OTHER FOOT (MIL) AND ANY OTHER, THEY WOULD DO WHAT'S BEST FOR THEM. IF YOU THINK YOUR REALLY GOING THRU WITH THE SURGERY, MAYBE YOU SHOULD START CHECKING INTO NUTRITIONAL CLASSES (IF REQUIRED BY YOUR INS) SO YOU CAN GET A JUMP START ON YOUR JOURNEY..I WISH YOU THE BEST OF LUCK!

There's no excuse for you to be treated like that, nor should your kids behave like that. No offense, but for him to treat you like crap for 10yrs he has to lack self esteem for whatever reason. If your kids are young and you decide to separate, they will get over it, you need to think about your happiness as well. I bet if you sought child support and alimony he may change his tune. I wish you all the happiness...Take care!

Stay encouraged, don't let your surgery be in vain. There's a lot of encouraging people on this board as well as discouraging people and I truly believe the positive people out weigh the negative people. We know it's easy said than done, and I plan to find out for myself come the new year. I've been educating myself about the procedure and the after care. Maybe you should talk to your dietitian and get some pointers. I wish well

That's great..is it self pay or is your insurance picking it up, because I was thinking about having the plication done as well, but only if my ins. will pay for it.

Sorry to hear that your appointment went "yucky"...run..get away from a person like that.. I wish you the best..keep us posted!!

Sorry to hear your having some problems..but to my understanding, if you have a PPO you can switch "PCP" at any given time for what ever reason, double check your policy to be sure, I know my policy allow me too! Remember your health comes 1st and I'm sure there's plenty of dr's out there that is willing to give you a letter as well as making sure your labs are within normal range..Good luck!

Hope it works out for you..at least yours is 85/15...mine is 80/20 and I don't know how much it will be out of pocket since it will be the start of the new year.

I'm having surgery tomorrow and I went to my seminar/consultation the beginning of October! I have been fortunate. I did not have any insurance delays....took only 3-4 days, because I was a pest. I started with one doctor group (800-get-thin), had one sleep study & with them, it was going to be 6 weeks getting all the results back BEFORE they would even submit to the insurance company. I needed to have my surgery by the end of the year so I went searching for another group, which I found from this & they have been AWESOME! Two and a half weeks after having my endoscopy through them, I am having surgery! I am so pleased with the doctors and the staff.
I have read some nightmares on here with people being denied, appealing, having to wait months and months for approval. I guess it depends on your insurance. I have Anthem BCBS PPO, my BMI is barely 40 and I have moderate sleep apnea. Because of my BMI being varely 40, I didn't have to do the pre-op liquid diet, thank God! My liquid diet will start after surgery. If you don't have any known co-morbidities (heart issues, diabetes, etc) I think all docs do a sleep study to see if you have sleep apnea (most overweight people do). If your BMI is 35-39, you have to have a co-morbidity, if your BMI is 40+ you don't have to have a comorbidity. There are BMI calculators online to help you find your BMI so you can see if you are a candidate. In addition to the sleep study my doc (& I think all do) required an endoscopy; this was done the same week as my sleep study. My psyche eval was done over the phone & my nutrition consultation was done the day of my endoscopy. Some insurances require 3-6 months of nutrition classes; mine did not. You insurance company should be able to give you their requirements.
Good luck! Hope your journey is as easy as mine has been thus far! Tomorrow will begin the REAL journey!
I'm happy for u. I have the same ins. but i'm in cali what state are you in and my ins. don't go into effect til the 1st of the year. I went from *** to ppo
