    Repositioned: start of my journey

I am scheduled to be at the hospital at 3:30 am and surgery is supposed to start at 5:30am. I'm as ready as I'll ever be. Yesterdayy I went for a 1 hour full body massage and today I got my eyebrows arched and had an indulgent pedicure. When I'm feeling better (after surgery) I'll go to get a manicure. Maybe I'll manage to put on some lipstick in the hospital. I've always thought I was cute so I try to keep my looks up, but I'm gonna have to 86 my old phrase (cute in the face, thick in the waist) and think up a new one. Decisions, decisions. :aureola:

    Prepared for success

Today I will be able to find out what time I will need to be at the hospital on my surgery date...it's really give close now. I've got my hospital bag packed, I've made a list of what should be happening to me at the hospital (IV start, blood draws, antibiotic on calll to the OR, heparin shot, SCDs on my legs, etc.) and I'm working on a list of what should be happening once I get out of the OR for my husband to checkoff. It's just my way of preparing. I'm also making reminder lists of what I can eat on day 1, day 2, week 1 and so forth. This is a major change!!! I'll be sleeved in just 5 days, woohoo! I've been praying through this entire process and I see myself successful and it's so exciting. I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

    Repositioned: start of my journey

My sleeve surgery date is November 7, 2011 and I'm at midpoint with my 2 week pre op liquids. At this point, I don't have any more ambivalent feelings. I have been trying to lose weight on my own for the past 20 years and have done a great job losing, but keeping if off has been a different story altogether (as I'm sure it has been for many of you as well). My last great weight loss effort was with Crossfit...I got hurt doing that and have not been able to participate with full effort since then. If you know Crossfitters (as I do) then you know there's no room for people who don't give 110% to a workout because of an injury. I loved Crossfit, but I love myself more and there just wasn't room enough for the 2 of us; so I'm back at the Global gym (with central heat and air) working out there. I still love to do squats, pushups and lunges, but I'm done with running and box jumps for sure (my feet just can't take those anymore). I'm repositioning my efforts with a new tool. I will lose weight again, but this time I will be able to maintain that loss with my sleeve. My Goliath is finally not just going to fall, he's going to die once and for all.

PIcs of 6 month weight loss

You have done so well and you look great. Keep it up and congrats!!
  6. [Congrats!!!'] Had a pretty amazing little appointment today with the maternal perinatal ob(high risk doc). I hit the fabulous 29lbs gained by their scale, but they admit they got a new scale and it seems to be weighing everyone heavy. At this point, I honestly don't care about the number on the scale, I'm just ready for her to get here. Tatum is perfect, she's growing, thriving, over 5lbs at this point, her lung/pulmonary function testing was normal today, her echo was spot on normal, and she has a full head of baby hairs ! ! ! Dr. B even said if I were to deliver today, she would perfect. I start the prednisone therapy tomorrow, & will have platelets rechecked in 2 weeks on the 17th. As long as my platelets hit 85K, I'll be able to have an epidural. If my platelets do not respond, then they are going to evaluate giving me a spinal block with a very light amount of anesthesia. If this is not an option, general anesthesia for the csection is the only option for delivery. Overall, we are absolutely fabulous ! ! ! Delivery is November 1st. I am on restricted activity, and by their defintion, I am supposed to just sit around for the next 25 days until she gets here. Waking induces some pretty strong Braxton Hicks type contractions, and I'm definitely not allowed to do much of anything for the next few weeks that could possibly induce full on labor.
  7. Personal update: I will start 2 weeks of my pre op liquid diet tomorrow (11-24-11) with the chocolate bariessentials. I have purchased several liquid extracts to add to my protein drink, just to change things up a bit. So far I have liquid extract favorings of peanut butter, strawberry, banana, cherry, and chocolate (to make it more chocolaty).

    Dear size 6

LOL! Well.. I had one glass of wine and I do believe I'm buzzed... at any rate.. here is my letter to size 6. ahem... Dear size 6... I have spent my entire life trying to be friends with you. I have been nothing but sweet, cute and funny.. but you never want anything to do with me. The hours I have spent trying to attain you are, quite frankly, time wasted. You have eluded me my entire life and I just wanted to let you know that I am no longer interested in a friendship. I'm rather sick of your stuck up attitude and can't be bothered with you any longer. Soooo.. when you see me with size 4 I just wanted to let you know that you can kiss my skinny little A$. That will be all.
  9. Hello everyone! I'm a newbie here. My sleeve surgery date is 11-7-11 and I start my 2 weeks of liquids on 10-24-11. I'm excited/anxious to really get started. My husband and I have done a lot of research because we like to be as prepared as possible. I'm so blessed that he is supportive of me in this endeavor. I've been scanning through several posts and this sounds like a really good site. I'm ready to let my journey begin. My best wishes to everyone! ann_franc
