  1. I wish I had better news. I had sleeve surgery October 6. Shortly thereafter I developed a severe case of meraglia paresthetica, and they put me on all kinds steroids and nerve pain medicine. It completely STOPPED my weight loss for months, and brought on hunger with a vengeance. I have only lost 53 pounds, which has been disheartening. However, it is still 53 pounds gone. Have another 50 to go. ( I am also a revision patient so that can also account for a slower loss. ) My restriction is still there, but like most of us, I have to be careful and resist the urge to "graze". I take one day at a time and hope for the best. My nerve condition will be lifelong but fortunately not nearly as severe and I decided to stop the meds and manage it naturally. . It is wonderful to read how everyone is doing. Congrats to all on your successes.

  2. i just had the sleeve October 9th. I was on a liquid diet 5 days before and then clear liquid two days before. This first week home I was on Clear Liquids again. At post op visit yesterday I have to be on liquids (no pudding, no yogurt no applesauce, no creamed Soups, no yogurtetc) for yet another three weeks. Basically its Protein Shakes, bouillion, Water and crystal light and sugar free popsicles. Stage three after will be the first real "food" for me (pureed) November 8.. I am amazed when I read all these patient who are eating soft food after week one and seem to do fine. That will be a total of SIX weeks on liquids...not easy. My Dr. seems to be in the minority on this issue, but I am following it to the letter. Good luck as you continue your journey. You are correct, we are all different how we heal and handle this!

  3. Seriously? I'm absolutely bewildered at all this valuable energy expended towards a $3 split fee. A "horrible" restaurant experience? You enjoyed the food by your own admission. If you had enjoyed it more would that have changed your opinion? Probably not. While I agree the manager could have handled this better, this IS absolutely done all the time in better restaurants. Believe me, as a previous restaurant owner, your refusal to go back would have been music to my ears and worth every penny of the $3.00. Not every business wants you as a customer.
