I really appreciate all the stories. So many of us had the same childhood.

Almost three weeks post-op and still have port pain
My port pain has gotten worse the last two days. Did I do something to it or just over do it? I feel great otherwise, but I have a sharp pain there like I pulled a stitch out or something inside. I am so scared something is going to happen to my port.

Anyone been overweight their ENTIRE life?
I've seen a lot of people here who have ballooned up over the years....Just curious if anyone here has been overweight their whole life? I have been overweight since I was around 10. I have been over 200 pounds since I was around 16 and my highest was 279. Just want to see if it's truly possible to lose the weight since I have had it so long. I managed to get to 200 for like a week once, but that was short lived. Would love to hear some stories of hope. I can't imagine ever being thin or even a healthy weight.

Almost 30 pounds and no size difference.
Yeah I really shouldn't complain. I am grateful for the loss. I think I was just hoping for at least one size difference. But you are right, my jeans are less snug, so that's a start.

Protein Drinks ONLY
I wouldn't say it's bad for you, but why would you want to? I just don't think the band should be used as another diet, but as a tool to help you eat real food like normal healthy weight people do. It should help you learn portion sizes and how to control yourself. You could have done a protein shake diet without the band. That's just my opinion and nothing more. I am sure others will agree. I have lost almost 30 pounds in a month and I am eating real food now. I just don't go over my 1000 calories. I personally don't think our bodies were made for protein shakes, they were made for real, healthy foods.

Almost 30 pounds and no size difference.
This seems really weird to me that I have lost almost 30 pound and although my clothes are a bit loser, not much has changed in that department. Is this normal? I lost a lot weight with Atkins a few years ago and I was down a size by this time. I think I am scared I am losing muscle and not fat I am almost 3 weeks post op.

Do I have to drink protein shakes?
I am just now to almost a normal diet. I still have to eat really moist meats. I still can't get in 60 grams a day. I am LUCKY at 40, but like your said, my nutrionist actually told me a few days ago that they would rather me get the protein from real food, but it's so hard!

I'm curious.....
I was a week liquid, one week full liquid/mushie, then what I am now which I don't think it has a name. It's not regular, but I think they call it full.

I'm curious.....
I am almost two weeks out and almost lost 30 pounds. Last friday I went to a basically normal diet, but softer foods. I am in the camp of eat anything but keep it under 1000 calories. I eat healthy and am losing. I don't get enough protein though. I am working on it.

liver shrinking diet
So true! Funny story. I was banded almost three weeks ago and I was sooooo worried about my liver not shrinking enough. So worried that in fact, the first words after I woke up were, "How was my liver?" lol. It was nice and shrunk

Constipation
You could always try a glycerine suppository too. It doesn't enter your blood stream and should make you go.

2 Weeks Post Lap Band Surgery And A Margarita???
I ended up not having one. I did have a small brownie. I was well under my calories and stopped at just that.

WHAT AM I GOING TO DO?
Go and enjoy yourself, weight loss isn't worth missing out on family. Yeah maybe you eat the wrong stuff for one meal, it's ok. This is a journey.

What does it mean to slip?
I hear a lot of people say they have slipped or messed up. What does that mean? What is there to slip from? Do they mean they go over their calories? I eat whatever, but healthy and count everything. Just trying to figure out what people mean.

cheating
It's definitely not going to kill you. The post op diet can be hard. Just stick to it and you will be on to solids soon!

Why does weight loss slow?
I use my fitness pal! I love it!! I talked to my nutritionist and she told me I should be at 1000 calories so I am going to try that. I definitely need more water. That's my next goal! Oh and in great news, I can add even more foods. I didn't read my binder right. I have two weeks of soft, but solid foods!

Why does weight loss slow?
I know I am not getting my fluids in. I would venture to say i am dehydrated. I am do used to drinking when eating then I forget to drink. I've never heard that would affect weight loss though. Although still not good for me.

Why does weight loss slow?
I track everything I put in my mouth. I am two weeks out so I'm not cleared for exercise yet. I can only eat mushies.

Why does weight loss slow?
I am one of those people who needs to understand the why behind everything. I've done everything by the book and I have been up three pounds the last two days. I haven't had over 1200 calories and most days and under that. i am definitely having a calorie deficit. So I know this isn't true weight gain, but what is it? I know your monthly friend can cause it, but that's not for a week. I haven't had a lot of sodium. I know the weight loss should be slow, but at 1200 calories a day, I am expecting results.
