They couldnt fill???
My surgeon usually does 4ccs at the first fill, but I knew I didn't need that much, so I only got 1. 2ccs sounds reasonable to me.

help....=)
They have New whey Protein bullets at GNC that have 42g of protein in each and they are considered a clear liquid. Many people don't like the taste, but they are only 3 1/2 oz so it is really easy to get down. They are kind of tart like a sweet tart. I used the tropical punch flavor. It should be enough protein to help with the weakness. The whey, however, may give you diarrhea.

Good Creamy Black Bean Soup

They couldnt fill???
In my surgeon's office, the PA Holly is the master filler. She has always hit my port with the first stick. It is nothing. The surgeon has never done my fills. He did my friend's once and he overfilled her. She DOES, however, like it kind of tight. Maybe she stressed that a little too much.

July Butterflies Master Thread
I am in the middle of a killer plateau. I just MUST get off my behind and MOVE. I joined the gym, but right now the dang thing is so busy when I can go that I hate to wait for the machines. I am certain, however, that most people will quit going by March. That is what the lady at the gym says happens every year...so until then, I wait or don't go. I may also go in for a tiny fill. I don't want a lot, maybe just .25ccs. I am extremely afraid of becoming too tight, but I find I can eat a little more than I want.

need some words of encouragment
This is normal and you will feel a little better each day. It was at least a week before I felt almost normal. I too read all the stories about "I went back to work 2 days later", well guess what? There is NO WAY I could've gone back in 2 days!!! I think that people are just different. I didn't bounce back from this easily, but I had two kids and was in labor for a day and a half with each of them, no problem. You will a little better each day. I promise.

July Butterflies Master Thread
I haven't posted any pics in while, because I am not near my goal. I don't even have a REAL before. The one I have here is 1 month post op and I had already lost 20lbs. THAT tells you why I don't have a before...Jeez. In the "before" I am wearing size 6T blue LB right fit jeans. In the "during" I have the same style jeans, but they are a 1T which is the smallest LB makes. The shirt in the before is a 3X and the "during" is an Old Navy Large. I can't believe I am posting this... It seems I am having the same problem kimaly is having...my boobs aren't going anywhere!!!

Unsure about the lapband
I have only had 2 small fills. I have 2ccs in my 11cc band. I eat basically whatever I want, I just eat a lot less of it. I have lost 93 lbs, but I am currently in the middle of a killer plateau that only getting off my butt and exercising will break. Although I do not recommend it, I lost all of the 93 lbs without exercising. Now, however, it is time to get moving. I don't really think that it is the amount of fill in the band, percentage wise, that determines your restriction. It is more to do with how sensitive your stomach is to the band. My friend who was banded 2 weeks before me has 7ccs in her band, yet she eats more than I do. As far as feeling satisfied, I am satisfied with a lot less food and I love that I still eat the foods that I want. Ex: pizza, my favorite: I now eat 1 or sometimes 2 slices of a small thin-crust pizza INSTEAD of 3 pieces from a regular large Cracker Barrel: I eat 1 biscuit prior to my meal instead of 3 (or4:blushing:) Then my meal will be 1 fish fillet from my hubby's plate and maybe 1/4 c mashed potatoes; Chilis: now I eat a few chips and skillet queso and a cup of chili; I used to eat at least a 1/2 order of the queso, about 1/2 an order of quesidillas and then eat 1/2 of a chocolate chip paradise pie (amazing, but must be the work of the devil) When my family eats out my 18 year old wants to be mom's partner. She likes to share pizza or whatever with me since "mommy doesn't eat a lot".

Unsure about the lapband
If you want to still be able to eat these things, and you decide to proceed with the band, then be sure not to have your band filled tight. I eat all of these things and whole wheat Pasta, I just eat a lot less of it. If your band is tight, these foods will not work well. Good luck with your decision.

I was in surgery 2 hours
The surgery probably took an hour or less, and the rest of the time was in recovery. If you think there may have been a problem, ask. If anything unusual occurred, they probably would've told whoever was with you.

Onederland for your birthday?! You are amazing! Congratulations

How do you make Refried Beans?
I think it is individual to you, as in your body's response to eating them. Does it keep you satisfied for at least 3 hours, then no, it isn't a slider. Sliders go right through the band and don't have any nutritional value..ice cream, chips, etc. For me, refried beans have enough substance and texture that they don't really slide right through, I can feel them sitting in the pouch.

Home Thread...for the thread homeless :)
Kat: are you still a vampire's fantasy, or did the bleeding stop? That doesn't sound too good. I hope you are doing better. Suzie: I hate my scale too, although it is my fault, it is much more fun to blame the scale... probably not very productive though:mellow: Michelle: is your dd finally better and your back? Jenn: all I can say is sorry Tracy: ?! where are you?

not sure if I'm ready for a fill or not. thoughts from some veteran bandsters?
I would probably not get the fill, but I don't like my band tight. IF you decide to get the fill, I would go 1cc or even less. Any more, and you will be risking becoming too tight. Discuss everything you just said with your doc and then together make the decision. DO NOT leave his/her office if the water they have you drink goes down slowly. Make them take some of the fill out if it is too slow going down.

Dilated/stretched Pouch...:(

I'm here to help...
wow, I am joining this party late...Hi, my name is Cindy and I have been banded 19 months. I see a few other July '08 bandsters here. I am currently off today because, even though I live in southern Louisiana we are having a SNOW DAY!!! I am sorry many of you are experiencing problems with your flights. Jeez, who would've thought there would be this many problems right now? Of course, as they keep reminding us down here "the Saints did when the Super Bowl, so why do we keep forgetting that Hell has frozen over?!" I hope that y'all have a wonderful time at your get together, even though it is chilly there too, it seems that the company will be great:thumbup:.

Sketchers Shape-Ups
I bought my ShapeUps 3 weeks ago and I don't take them off!!! They are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I bought the pair that is solid black so I could wear them to work in. I stand and walk around my room all day and my legs and feet don't hurt at the end of the day! This was the best $100 I have ever spent.

Lapband slippage- problems while waiting for corrective surgery
I just now read your story and it is good you are doing well with recovery. Update when you can and I hope your band experience is better this time.

Abdominoplasty @ 300lbs
It could be done now, but the closer you are to goal, the happier you will be with the end result. If you have it now and then lose another 80 lbs, it may look like you need another one. It would be better to wait until you get a little closer to goal. BUT, congrats on feeling the bones...isn't it cool?

Breat Size
I think everyone is different, but your age may have a little to do with the sagginess. I started at 44DDD now I am a 40G. My actual breasts didn't go down, but the band size did, but the cup size went up.

Hungry in the morning - breakfast ideas?
I am the same way when I eat bars. I love Fiber one bars, but because it is full of sugar, I am stomach-rumbling hungry an hour later. For lunch, I only eat a campbells soup-at-hand and it holds me for about 3 hours. So, some mornings I cook grits at home and pack it to school. I then nuke it for a minute and it tastes great. I have heard that some people like to eat eggs for breakfast, so you could probably pack a hard-boiled egg or two and that should definitely keep you satisfied for at least 3 hours.
