    Help!!!!!

    I see you say that most days you are not fine and you pb alot. You may be too tight. What are you eating on the days you are fine? Are they slider foods? That could be why the scale isn't moving. It can be a vicious cycle. PB from being too tight, so eat soft foods which stops weight loss. Try journaling your food intake so you can accurately get an idea of just what and how much you are putting in your body. When I became too tight after my hysterectomy I began eating Special K twice a day. I was eating a seriving in skim milk, but it completely stalled my weight loss even though I wasn't consuming too much. I ate it because it went down easily. Once I stopped eating the darn cereal I started losing weight again.

    July Butterflies Master Thread

    I just talked to my oldest (stepdaughter) tonight and she told me she is on ambien. Someone tried to break into their house a couple of weeks ago and since then she can't sleep. The dr. prescribed the ambien which she took for the first time last night. She made the mistake of not going straight to bed. Her husband told her he walked her to bed. She was watching tv while basically being asleep. He said it was almost scary. I told her from now on if she is going to take it, she needs to finish everything for the night and take it while sitting on her bed then immediately lay down. I would hate for her to try to take care of the kids while "asleep".

  5. What I was talking about it being too tight. Most people actually gain or stop losing when they get too tight because they start eating foods that are softer and normally more calorie dense... "slider foods": ice cream, chips, candy, etc. You will get restriction. It just takes more fills for some people. As big as I am, I only have 2ccs in my 11cc band and have really good restriction. My friend has the same band and didn't feel good restriction until about 7ccs. We started off the same size. It is different for everyone. Do not give up yet, take credit for the weight you have lost so far, and move forward.

    How much weight did u lose b4 .....

    I started having to buy new clothes after 20 lbs. I am a teacher so I must have clothes for work. I try to keep 1 pair each of jeans, khakis and black dress pants. Well, I have gone from a right fit blue size 6 down to a right fit blue size 2; and in other clothes I went from a tight 26/28 down to a getting loose 18/20. I need new black pants and khakis now, but I refuse to buy them because I only have 9 weeks of school left, and I don't want to buy black pants until school starts next year. :scared2:

    Hi, First Post!

    I think many people have problems with their gallbladder after any significant weight loss. Some surgeons even remove the gallbladder when they put the band on. I wish mine would've, but he didn't. I am not having problems yet, and hopefully I won't. You are off to a good start. I hope your ulcer and gallbladder problems clear up soon.

    You don't have a fill yet. I would, however, try to eat less than that unless they told you that a cup at a time was ok. Try eating a half a cup. You may find that it is enough to satisfy you for now. If not, then go back and get the other half. What I tried was putting the amount I was supposed to have on my plate. I was surprised that I very seldom went back for extra, but I also ate what was put on my plate. Good luck and remember this stage isn't really for losing, but if you do it's bonus.

    What kind of mushies?

    I made chicken and tuna salad and homemade chill put through a food processor. Refried Beans with cheddar and sour cream is good too. SF dark chocolate pudding has been the best thing for keeping my eating under control since banding. I started eating it during the mushies phase and still eat at least one most nights before I go to bed.

  14. You were banded 3 months ago and lost 81lbs. That is great. Stop sabotaging yourself by thinking you are failing. Go back to following the rules and cut out the junk. Get your fill when you go. Tell your surgeon everything you said on here. Ultimately the surgeon will decide what is best, but your input may help him. I understand your frustration with wanting restriction, but please don't think getting a big fill is necessarily the answer. It is possible to get too tight and that is really bad. If he gives you a smaller fill than you want, ask if you can return in 2 weeks if you still eat more than you should. You can do this. You proved it by losing the first 81lbs. Stick with it!!!!!!

    I have heard stories of people sleep walking, eating, and driving. I listen to Kidd Kraddick in the morning and he used to take it. He sent emails while asleep and one night his wife found him working out in the home gym naked. :scared2:

    five year weight history.....

    I had BCBS of LA. I gave a 5 year weight history also. I think if you were consistently overweight then that is probably enough. It is showing a patter of moving upward and not slowly down. The person who would know more, though, is the insurance people at your surgeon's office. I can assure you they have submitted someone from your insurance company before, and will probably know about what you will need to qualify. They knew right away at my surgeon's office exactly how long it would take form my approval with what I gave them. Bottom line is, don't worry about it. Send what you have, because you can't change the past weight history.Good luck.

    July 4th Challenge - 120 days

    My daily food intake is boring. I eat between 1200-1500 calories per day. I am a teacher so I don't have long for lunch, so lunch everyday is a Campbells soup-at-hand and then I eat a 100 calorie Protein added pb choc chip chewy bar at recess. Breakfast in the morning during the week is a Chick fil A chicken biscuit. I usually eat 3/4-all of it. In the afternoon on the way home I usually get my reduced sugar Starbucks nonfat caramel mocha (220 calories, 17g protein). dinner is whatever is cooked...red Beans w/sausage, taco Soup, chili, chicken tenders with fries, jambalaya, fried fish, whatever. For dinner I eat about 1/3 of the amount I ate prebanding. I log ever bite that goes into my mouth, including the drinks.

  22. I agree with angel...you sound too tight. Sometimes it only takes a small unfill to help a lot. You should be able to eat most of the things you listed except for maybe the dry meat. I also have a large band, 11cc and only have 2cc in it. You may need to get .5 taken out. Call your dr's office and check into it. You will be so happy when you can eat better.
  23. I am from Baton Rouge. I used Dr. Hargroder. He is in Gonzales and operates from Gonzales to Lafayette. I take my fills slowly. I only have 2 ccs so far and I don't plan on getting another one any time soon. I am losing slowly now, but I still enjoy most foods.
  24. I am also from Louisiana and I have eaten both shrimp and crawfish, although I won't have crawfish very much due to the cost!:confused: I do make sure that I chew it well though. Neither one gave me any problems. I had seafood gumbo last week and crawfish stew the week before.

    Hello

    I would call the medicaid office. They should be able to tell you what the requirements are and what doctors take medicaid. I would say you will probably have to have a bmi over 40 AND co morbidities for medicaid to pay, but only their office will be able to tell you for sure.
