    Work, how soon?

Some people do return to work that quickly, but I know that I would not have been ready. I wasn't ready for at least a week. It will depend on what type of work you do and how you feel.

WOW! He really wanted to get his message across!
  3. I LOVE my spicy foods. I use tobasco sauce on my red beans! I think you can probably have it as soon as it is possible. When I started mushies I ate hot sauce on my refried beans. But like the previous poster said, don't forget you aren't supposed to drink!

Surgery tomorrow and nerves are kicking in

I am glad to hear your surgery went well. Be sure to take you pain med IF you need it, and walk as much as possible to get the gas moving!
  5. I think of it when you get satisfied with a cup or a little less of food, can eat healthy choices without pbing, are losing weight, and are NOT hungry between meals (satisfied for at least 4 hours).
  6. Different antidepressants affect people differently. I am not currently taking anything and haven't in probably 3 years, but 5 years ago, I was on Zoloft for about 4 months. I put on 25lbs without eating more. I told my doctor that I didn't think gaining the 25 lbs was good for my mood in the long run, so I switched to Welbutrin, actually lost a little weight, and it helped my depression.

    Weight Watchers Online: Support Thread

I journaled after I posted. I did not get my Protein in for the day, or calories, really. I had a dental appt where I had two fillings, an extraction and an impression made, so my mouth is on strike right now. Hopefully tomorrow I will do better, but I will journal regardless. Yes, Kristine, our Louisiana summers are a killer. I usually pack a sandwich on whole wheat toast ( peppered turkey or ham). I eat half for Breakfast and the other half for lunch. Some days I only eat the Campbells Soup at hand for lunch, but that won't help you if you don't have access to a microwave. I also eat the Kelloggs, protein added chewy bars for a snack. I like the Peanut Butter chocolate chip. My menu is normally very boring, but it worked for me during the school year. If you pack a sandwich, eat it before the heat kills it. It seems like Tuesday is your only REALLY bad day. If you like the chewy bars keep a box handy. You can always pull one out and eat it if you are ready to gnaw off a hand. I keep a couple of boxes in my desk drawer for the random hungry teacher.

I am going through the same thing. I haven't journaled in a month, and I PREACH about journaling to people all the time. I am a big, still fat, hypocrite. I am going to journal again and give it a month. If I don't start dropping again, I will sign up for WW online (broke right now ). I am going to follow the thread and cheer you all on, no matter what. Good luck!!!!! Lillyanne, you quit sugar cold turkey, so I will stop my Target freshly popped popcorn right now!!!!
  9. Your pics really show your progress. Congratulations and keep up the good work.

    Let's Talk Movie Review

I saw Funny People last weekend. I was really looking forward to it and was very disappointed. I give it a 3/5 but would not pay to see it again.

    Ghosts...

Nope. Both he and my daughter befriended "Michael", whoever that may be. From around 18 months to age 3 or so, they both had an "imaginary" friend named Michael. Neither played with him together, but each had the friend around the same age. They are 2 1/2 years apart, so that explains why he was their friend at different times.

    1 year since surgery

What I eat varies, normally. In the morning I may eat a fried egg, because for some unknown reason, scrambled eggs don't work well for me. Many times I will get a Chick-fil-A chicken biscuit and eat 1/2 of it. I am a teacher and don't have much time for lunch, so I drink a Campbell's Soup at hand, and then a couple hours later I will eat a Protein added chewy bar. dinner is whatever we cook...spaghetti, pastalya, red Beans, grilled chicken, jambalaya, pork chops, pizza...I think you get the idea. Also, most days I drink my modified Starbucks drink. I have reduced the pumps of mocha and it has 220 calories and 17 grams of protein in my venti drink. I consume at least 60 g of protein a day and consume normallly 1200-1500 calories per day. Main point, I am not so restricted that there are a lot of foods that are off limits. I just eat a lot less of the foods than I used to.

You may not want to hear this, but you may still be a little too tight if you were having a lot of sliming issues. You may want to consider having a very small unfill, maybe .25cc. If you are exercising you may want to try to up your calorie intake maybe every third day up to 1000. Your metabolism may need to be shocked into firing up again. If you were having sliming issues, what foods are typical for you to eat each day?

    Ghosts...

Beth, I don't normally get that sensation, but that is cool. I very often will feel someone sit on the bed, turn around and there is no one there. It used to freak me out, but then I got used to it. My kids and I experience sensing someone walk past in our hallway, but then no one is there. We aren't scared of it. It definitely doesn't seem scary in anyway. My brothers and I, however, have always been scared of the "hamburgler" incidents from our childhood.

    Me and PCOS

I will tell you there is hope for this (banding) to help. My friend had to take fertility drugs for both of her pregnancies. She was infertile at the time. When she was banded two weeks before me last year her son was 5 and she had twins that were 6 months old. After she lost a little over 40 lbs, she found out she was pregnant at Christmas. She is due next month! She was stunned at the news and definitely never expected this.

    Ghosts...

Yeah, it freaked us out. When we realized that it happened both times when the boys were 6 years old, it made it creepier and even more so that we moved 140 miles away before it happened to my youngest brother. Needless to say, I watched my son very carefully when he was 6! I am glad to report, he was hamburgler free, although both he and my daughter seem to be sensitive to things of that nature.

    Discouraged already

You definitely are not a failure. First step that will help is to journal your food intake daily. I use fitday.com, but there are many you can choose from. This will help you realize exactly what/how much you are eating each day. It should also give you a carb/fat/protein breakdown of your foods daily. You say you often eat cereal for Breakfast. I LOVE cereal but for me it is a slider food and I can NOT lose weight when I eat it. Try journaling your food for a week and then report back on what you find out. You may be able to figure out what is going on by just doing that.

I have been following the post and am glad to hear you are feeling better!

    Ghosts...

I have a couple of stories. The first happened to my mom and her sister when they were young. Their dad died in their house when he was 36. Later that year, my mom and her sister were in bed and heard "shave and a haircut" being knocked on the wall. They would respond with the last two knocks. They thought it was their grandpa who was in the adjoining bedroom playing with them. They wanted to catch him, so my aunt stood at his bedroom doorway. The playing/knocking continued, but he was sound asleep. They instantly thought it was their daddy and felt at peace thinking he was watching over them. Next story happened to me and my brothers personally and isn't positive. When I was 7, I lived in Lake Charles. One day my cousin (7), my brother (6) and I were bouncing a basketball in our backyard. My cousin and I looked up and saw a tall man, dressed in black with a black cape and hat standing behind my brother. We yelled and ran inside. We yelled for my brother to get inside away from the man. He turned around and the man vanished. My cousin and I are 41, and to this day, he REFUSES to speak about it. Ten years later, my family moved to Baton Rouge which is 2 1/2 hours away. My mom had my youngest brother. One day when he was 6 he and his friend ran screaming into the kitchen. My mom said they look terrified and she asked what happened. They said there was a man, dressed in black with a cape and a hat in his room watching them and then he disappeared. It freaked my mom out because she knew about the previous episode with me and my other brother. We called this "man" the Hamburgler, because the outfit reminded us of the McDonald character. Remember, we were 6 and 7 when it happened to us. Years later, when the youngest brother was 25, he was helping to remodel my parents' kitchen. When they bought the house it was 5 years old and they had been living in it for 20 years, so it was time. Early in the day, they removed the formica, exposing a plywood top. My brother was sitting on it putting the tile down. When he got down he looked at the counter and saw a crude, child-like drawing of the "hamburgler". It freaked him out. He went and got my mom and my dad's polaroid camera. He began to try to take pictures of it. It took 6 pics before one would come out. The first pics had a creepy black and gray smoke where the picture/drawing should be. To this day, we can't figure how the drawing came to be there.

    Today is a good day.....

    Congratulations! That is amazing!
  21. I never wait 3 minutes between bites. I don't think they told me to wait. I was told small bites, and chew well. If I do that, then I am eating slow enough. I am a teacher, if I wait 3 minutes between bites I won't ever get any lunch in me! If you think waiting for 3 minutes between bites will help, then try it! You probably will eat a little less if eating takes you longer.

If he wants you to have protein, try one of the clear protein drinks if you can't handle the regular ones. I used the New Whey protein bullets, but some doctors don't like them. Lots of people use Isopure.

    I love to watch Ruby!

Was fill too tight or slipped?

Since you have been banded a while and you only had 2ccs, you may be really sensitive to fills like I am. I have only had two fills, each one only 1cc and I was banded over a year ago. Did you notice if maybe you were slightly more restricted the day of your fill before your visit? I get tighter if I have any stress at all. On those days I have to drink warm liquids before I eat. If you don't have a slip, and you probably don't, then have them take your fills .25ccs at a time and just see if that helps. I hope everything goes well and keep me updated.
