  1. Yes, it is. Doesn't it feel sweet?
  2. Jeez, I haven't heard of that happening from being banded before. I am so sorry you are going through this. I hope that applying the heat works.

Home Thread...for the thread homeless :)

I am near Baton Rouge. We were lucky enough to escape more rain today, but my yard is sloppy already.
  4. You will be intubated. It was my biggest fear also. I can honestly tell you I had two surgeries the year I was banded and I don't have any recollection of the tube, and I also escaped without the sore throat. In the vast majority of cases, people don't even know about the tube. Many, however, do have a slight sore throat from it for a day or two. As far as the required diet, pre-op is decided by your surgeon, but the required "supervised" would be a decision that is made by your insurance company. I didn't have to do one, but I think many do.

Suzie, I am feeling your pain about the rain. We don't get any for a month and then, bam, rains its butt off for 3 straight days. Now, my yard is a sloppy mess again. I know I shouldn't complain, since the rain was needed, but I would've preferred a nice shower or two, not a torrential downpour.

    Nausea...did you un-fill?

It sounds like you need to get some of your fill taken out. Understand you can gain 25 lbs and it will all be baby. Try just getting 1 cc out to see if that relieves the problem. Later, as the baby grows, you will probably have to get a little more taken out. Let your body/band tell you when it is time to go back. Good luck.
  7. Congratulations on getting approved and your surgery date. To make your ticker, you can click on mine to get to the website. Then create your ticker. At the last screen, copy the code for forums and then paste it in the signature section under "edit signature" on your profile. Good luck!

We have new friends!!! Hello, and welcome everyone!! Well, Alex's graduation was last night and I was fine until she was sitting down there and pulled her cellphone out and texted me to tell me "I love you". That made me cry. Dangit. She had a good time and is glad that school is over. She slept most of today and she is going to school with me tomorrow to work on our school PowerPoint show for us. Kat, I hope you MIL's attitude improves. It will be the determining factor in her getting better. Ok, my peeps, when I get some graduation pics, I will post. I am tired. Goodnight.

    Recliner, or Bed?

It sounds like you are doing great! Maybe you are lucky and have restriction just from having the band placed. I was like that, so I didn't really experience the TRUE bandster hell that everyone talks about. As soon as you are cleared, start going to the gym to get in your exercise. I didn't and that was a mistake. You may be able to avoid the looooooong plateaus that I have experienced.:smile2:

    Recliner, or Bed?

You are my new favorite person!!! That was taken about 20 lbs ago, and unfortunately, with every pound I lose, a few more wrinkles seem to appear.:crying: BUT, I do love my weightloss, so I try not to complain.

Yeah, the highschool gives the last final the last day of school. In elementary school, however, we have to get our grades finished by this Friday and school isn't out for them until the 24th:ohmy:

    Recliner, or Bed?

Were you able to get that recliner and how are you sleeping now? You should be doing quite a bit better by this time.

Suzie, go to majorgeeks.com. READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide - MajorGeeks Support Forums Now, it is a long process, but I find that when I have something wrong, this will usually find and take care of it. I have cleaned up more than one computer this way. The deal is, though, you MUST run the steps in order and do everything it says. Well, we are nearing graduation and I am losing my mind. Alex and I went for mani pedis today and I think tomorrow we are getting haircuts. Mine hasn't been cut in a year! Alex will just get a trim. I will update again when I get more time. The end of the school year kills me every time. The kids think school is over and we still have two weeks left.

    fills

Mine are done without a numbing shot and both of them were completely painless. No problem at all. I think a lot of what determines whether or not it hurts depends on the expertise of the person giving it and their ability to access your port. Sometimes I think the port may be a little turned and that makes it a little more difficult. The biggest advice I can give is don't look at the needle. I look at the ceiling.
  15. Allie, that is a heck of a lot to deal with at one time. I am sorry to hear about the baby. I went through that myself a while back. Slowly work yourself back into an exercising routine. It will help you deal with the stress. My daughter is starting college in the fall, but she has decided to stay at home and I am so thankful. I am not quite ready to cut the strings.
  16. I saw a drop in a pants size around every 20 lbs or so. I started at a tight 26/28 and I now wear a 14/16. I was in a LB right fit blue 6T jeans and now wear a 1T and they are loose. My school t-shirt started as an adult 3x and now I wear a L. I am at that weird in between stage now where plus sizes are usually too big, but misses shirts are usually too tight in the chest and pants are tight on the behind but big in the waist. I guess I need to lose another 10-20 lbs before I am truly in a misses. As far as really realizing that I am smaller, my brain doesn't really register it. I have to compare pictures to see it. THAT is how messed up my body image is.

    Betrayal is a BITCH

If anyone deserves this happiness, it is definitely you:thumbup:. I am glad things are going well for you and hopefully the divorce will be swift and drama free (or at least as drama-free as divorce can be)

Kat, hopefully you won't have to deal with any more jackasses like that! Ugh, that is awful. Suzie, I am glad that didn't ask you to fill the bag, too! Tracy, I have a membership to a gym and I haven't been in 2 weeks....i feel like such a slug:unsure: Michelle: how is the recovery going?

Can't get fill volume right- please help!

Yes, that perfect fill volume does occur, unfortunately, it is different for everyone, and is only the tiniest fraction of a cc from being too tight. It will take time to get it right. It sounds like your stomach is sensitive to fills. Even if it takes 4 or more visits to get this right, you are better off than having a band you can't use properly. First, are you too tight, or too loose now? If you are roo loose or unfilled, start with a fill that is around half of what your last too tight amount was. Then, go back every 2 weeks to a month to add 1cc, or even just .5cc (if you already has some restriction) until the restriction is correct. If you are still too tight, then immediately go for a partial unfill. It will bring you immediate relief. Staying too tight for too long can cause problems and it keeps you from eating healthy foods. Then, when you get your fills again, take it slow and in small increments. .5ccs at a time. It really doesn't cost more in the long run if you aren't having to pay for unfills from being tight. If you see you can't afford to go back for a fill when you feel you need one, just continue to eat the foods you should and exercise. Then, when you can afford to get another fill, your band will be ready to work for you.

I am jealous! Y'all could post yesterday?! I haven't had access to it since early Monday night! LBT wouldn't come up for me.
  23. That's good. Mine routinely does 4ccs, I asked for half, so she put 2ccs in. When I sat up and drank water, I told her it went down slowly, so she pulled one out, leaving me with 1cc, which was perfect. Just listen to your body when you drink after the fill and you should be fine.
  24. At least you know now how much you DON'T want in your band this time. Fluoro may or may not have prevented it. Sometimes it will look fine, but then you get swelling from being filled after. My stomach is REALLY sensitive, so I have only had 2 small fills in my almost 2 years of being banded. Do you know how much he plans on trying this time? Hopefully no more than half of the last one. It is so much easier to go back and get a little more than it is to suffer from being too tight. Good luck and I hope this fill is easier on you.

    Smoking!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations on quitting. :thumbup:It is one of the best gifts you can give yourself. I smoked for 14 years and I have been smoke free for the LAST 14 years. It gets much easier. I only want to have a cig MABYE once a year now, but I must say I haven't touched even one since I quit.
