  1. I went today and got 1cc removed. My Dr. told me to go home and try to eat something that I have been having difficulty with..but something that I wanted...so...I came home andhavd a leftover piece of pizza from last night. Yesterday I took 1 bite and instantly had to get it up. Today I was able to finish 1 small peice. Im happy that I can eat normally again!

  2. Im kinda going through the same thing. I can pretty much drink anything I want..but when it comes to "food" I can havea hard time. I dont consider myself "throwing up". The food usually feels "stuck" in my throat and I have to basically regurgitate or "spit up" to feel better. Its never the heaves or anything like when you actually throw up..its just spitting up the food that feels stuck in my throat. Hope that makes sense.

  3. Ok..I posted about my 3rd fill being OUCH! I went and had 1cc removed and instantly felt better..about 5 days later I started feeling like I was over filled again.. food was starting to hurt going down, even drinking was starting to hurt....

HOWEVER.....Ive been trying to eat and I eat such a small amount. I noticed it doesnt hurt anymore really..Sometimes it hurts when I take my crushed pills.. So now Im thinking..'Is this really the small amount of food Im suppose to be eating? Is this the green zone and I just didnt realize it"? I can eat now with no pain..but it is such small amounts. I mean REALLY small amounts. Last night we had spagetti and I literally was able to eat about 6 strands of spaghetti and sauce and 1 medium size roll. I can drink my Protein Shake but little sips and it takes me about 40 minutes to finish so it doesnt hurt. Is this what they meant about being in the green zone? Is the pain I do feel when I eat is that cause Im taking too big of a gulp of my drink or not a small enough bite? I thought drinking wouldnt be a problem but then I started noticing the pain when I was really thirsty..so thought...hmmmmm maybe Im taking bigger gulps than I realize.

And the weight is really starting to come off. I do not feel hungry.

So what do you think.....Am I in the green zone and just didnt know it???

  4. Thank you for this post. Ive only had my band a few months...the first 2 fills went great. The 3rd fill..not so much. I had too much restriction and was in pain and misery. I went back the next day and he took out 1/2 of what he put in. I was sad cause I thought it was a step back...the first 2 days I was great. Now Im regurgitating every small bite..I get the throat full of slimy spit and have to spit whatever I ate up within minutes. I thought Id give it some time but now reading more and more posts..I think I need more taken out again. I will only have 4CCs in a 10cc band but slow and steady is my reality now. Before I wanted quick weight loss and I didnt care at what price. Now..I know my limits. Thank you..its posts like these that make me come to my senses.

  5. Well its been about 5 days. The first 2 days were good..but now..not so much. I cant hold down anything. It all feels like it sits in my throat and even the smallest bite extremely well chewed hurts all the way down. :(

  6. Sabra....36 pounds in 3 months is great! However, if you are having problems keeping stuff down you NEED to go back. What about liquids...do you have a hard time drinking? You should still be able to drink if you are eating too fast. I would make the appointment either way.

  7. I went first thing this morning and they took out 1cc. It was instant relief. I cannot believe how being too tight affects EVERYTHING. I did not sleep at all last night..my legs hurt by stomach hurt, my back hurt...it was miserable...all the way there I was miserable. Then, as soon as they took out 1cc it was like everything immediately started to disapperar. Im taking it slow today and staying on liquids but boy I will NEVER make that mistake again. Im hanging around the Dr. office for AT LEAST 20 minutes next fill. Thank you everyone for the advice!!!

  8. I had my 3rd fill today..the first fill was 3ccs. The 2nd fill was .5cc. This fill was 2ccs and I feel like death. My chest hurts like pressure..straight to my back and my stomach aches. I spit up so much Water on teh way home that it was about 6 oz of water that I drank earlier. I felt fine when I was leaving but its about and hour drive and half way home I started feeling the pain. Is this normal for a larger fill?

  9. Alrighty...more questions.

How do you all feel when you eat? Or I guess I should ask...What does it feel like? I have 4.5cc's in my 10cc band. When I eat or drink I can feel the food or liquid from my throat all the way down. It feels like Im swallowing something much larger than I am and it feels like it takes a looooong time to reach where its going.

Its not a "stuck" feeling where it hurts..but it isnt the most comfortable feeling in the world. Today I ate about 1/4 of a burger and 2 french fries (not the best choice, but the only choice). I was full but not like a satisfied full. It was like stuffed full. But not in my stomach, more in my throat and chest..if that makes any sense at all.

  10. How is the revision? How sore were you after? Mine is outpatient but Im worried that Im gonna be just as sore as I was the first go around.

I didn't have the port tubing come undone but I've recently had port revision for a leak. So shoot me any questions you have.

And yes it's ridiculous that he didn't listen to you the last time, but I guess they assume it will get better and only get concerned when it doesn't. I wish you all the luck with your revision and I hope you get a working band again soon.

  11. Im so disappointed. I went in for my 2nd fill today and there was a nurse doing the fill cause the Dr. hadnt come in yet. I showed her my "bump" (Posted images and concerns on here before about it) and she looked freaked out. I said "The Dr. said it was fine on my last visit..that it would go down and not to worry". Even though when he told me that I didnt fully believe it because I could FEEL that it wasnt tissue or swelling. It felt like a tube or something.

She gave me my fill and said to wait until the Dr. came in. So I waited. He came in about 15 minutes later and felt around and said that the "tube" had come undone or moved around and was sticking out. Now I have to have surgery to "revise the lapband port". Great. I wish he would have listened when I told him this a month ago.

Has this ever happened to anyone else? My port isnt flipped just the tubing has moved.

  12. Fat free Greek yogurt is more sour than the 2% fat. For breakfast I have fruited Greek yogurt with 1/2 scoop whey isolate Protein powder, tsp unflavored benefiber, and a couple packets of Splendra, and about 1/4 cup high Protein Kashi Go Lean Cereal. I say it's about 28 g of protein.

WOW! Do you know round about what the calorie count is on this? Are you using fresh fruit or Greek Yogurt with fruit? Does the splenda cut down the sour taste?

  13. Im having a really hard time getting in my Protein. My doctor said not to rely on shakes and powders...ok...so I dont...then he said to keep calories around 1000 and Protein between 60-70 grams. Im eating cottage cheese and meats..but it seems like to get enough protein in, I go over my calories...

What are your non powder-shake protein tricks. I already eat tuna too and STILL having trouble balancing calories and protein.

  14. My surgery was on the first and I feel pretty Dan good compared to the rest of the days hehe. Is it normal for the bruised part of my belly where the port is to be stinging. I expected pulling and I suppose stinging is normal too just trying to get off these pain meds but not with this comfort level!

Yep...mine stung for a little while. Doctor said it was where the skin was pulling itself back together to heal.

  15. I thought mine was right under my left breast..because there is a huge bump there. When I went to get my first fill the doctor actually said the port was about 2-3 inches lower. I really dont know what the bump is..I think its part of my band...he really wasnt too clear when I asked him so when I go for my next fill Im going to really demand to know what it is..it drives me nuts.

  16. Tab...CONGRATULATIONS ON 30lbs GONE!!!! WTG....that is like losing a toddler! So be proud of that!

Are you using any sites like myfitnesspal or sparkpeople? I use sparkpeople and count all my calories for the day. I have mine set to 1200 calories so when I hit that I know Im done for the day, no matter what. after a while you will really start thinking about what is worth it. Remember to get your Protein in so that you are fuller longer. I know with school it is hard because you are probably always on the go, so make sure you have healthy options with you at all times. And dont forget to keep drinking your Water..sometimes, after I finish my 24oz of Water (I do 24 oz at a time) the thought of eating makes me want to yak!

You have come a long way...dont give up...make the time to go get that fill and get back on track!
