Hello, I see its been a while since any of you have posted on here... I'm from Greenwood and was banded in Oct. 2011. Just wanted to know if any of you were still on here. I lost focus on the band and need help..

I had to do 4 Protein Shakes a day and all the Jello, pudding, pop sickles, and I ate a bunch of Tomato Soup. I also had chicken and beef broth and tomato/basil Soup was my favorite!

My Nutritionist told me that I needed 80 to 100 grams of Protein a day. I get my Protein Shakes from GNC and they contain 20 grams per scoop mixed with 8 oz of Water or milk. It's all based on your size... I'm 6 ft and was 280 at the time of talking to my nutritionist.

I feel your pain on this .... I have to keep telling myself one more week and I'll be on soft foods. I'm 7 days post op and its about to kill me. Think of the weight loss as your motivation..... And remember, come Thanksgiving you'll be eating turkey!
From what I have read here, there are mixed opinions from both users here and their doctors as to when you can start eating soft foods. Could you guys (and gals) tell me when you switched and how your band and body responded? I had surgery Nov. 2 which was 5 days ago. I can drink liquids pertty fast and they go down very well. I haven't had any issues with liquids hurting me and I have cheated once or twice with a bite of ricotta cheese but I chewed the heck out of it which is what I will do when I start with soft foods too.
So... What do you think? When should I start? I am just asking because its torture not being able to eat anything even semi-solid. I would be most appreciative of your opinions and experiences no matter good or bad. THanks in advance

If you are only three days out you should be on liquids I imagine... 3 to 4 shakes a day and you can still eat Soups, Jello and so forth. The Protein will curve your hunger. You should be taking in around 80 to 100 grams of protein a day.
it has only been 3 days for me./..Nov. 3rd.. how much puree are we allowed? I am hungrey, buit afraid to eat I meant drink to much..

I have a question for you post surgery banders.... I had my surgery last week and I noticed that my left incision (large insicision) feels hard around it while my other incisions don't... Just wondering if that was normal.

I think the worst thing is I can't get a productive burp! I wish I could let loose on a big beer burp!
-
Most of the gas I feel is in the abdomen area! It works its way up to my chest and is very discomforting

I'm on day three post op with the band and can't get used to the gas... I wish I could burp or something but I can't and it hurts. Does this gas ever go away or is this just going to part of my life for now on with the band?

Thanks! How has everything now that the surgery is complete? Any pain?

I was just curious to know if the scars go away over time?

I'm having my surgery on the 31st and can't wait! I look forward to a better life.

OK, I know this has probably been asked before but... I like to drink beer on the weekends and I'm know that I shouldn't drink beer after the surgery because of the calories but... Is it ok to drink beer on the weekends or something? How is beer drinking after being banded?
Thanks Guys! I guess I have until 10/31 to enjoy my beer! College football is going to be a bit differet without my cold beer!
