  1. Hmm. I think the pain might be your stomach not the port. If you havent used those muscles in a while they will be sore. I started working out and I had pain but that was from working on my muscles. I would just take it easy, walk dont run and see you it goes for the week It could be gas too. If you are concerned, talk with your DR. Hope this helps.

  2. Wow you did great. I am way behind you but I try to eat Protein as much as possible. Some foods I eat : Fish ( cod, talapia, trout, halibut), chicken, tChicken Chili, Cream Of Wheat, Turkey Meatballs, vege Lasagna and lean corned beef. I also buy Smart Ones or Lean Cusine. They are easy and once you find a few good ones( there are yucky ones) they help! Crackers and Skinny cow cheese rocks! I can eat anything besides bad stuff in moderation. Did that help?

  3. That is great you made the choice to have the Band. I was banded Oct 12th this year and down about 36lbs and I just now started to go back to the gym so very excited. I chose this vs the other because you don’t have the nutritional issues and you lose slower so less skin issues. This has been the best decision ever. This is a tool so eating like we did in the past will not fix the problem. The band basically makes you control your portions as we could not do that on our own without. So you see it's a tool not a miracle fix. I have looked at food in such a different light now. I view it as fuel and not the medicine I need to deal with stress or depression. I wish you the best and stay in touch. The surgery is pretty easy minus the recover week. You will have pain from the incisions but that is about it. Take the pain med's, try to move around after surgery and you will be fine. Bring a soft small pillow or blanket to the hospital; you will need it for the ride home under you seatbelt between your tummy!! See ya on the other side!! LOL

  4. I had the same questions and concerns and waiting way too lonh IMO. I was banded Oct this year and have had dramatic changes in my body and mental state. It is so far, one of the best choices I have made for my family and myself. I have been heavy most of my life and it has not been easy. I have not really lived life to the fullest. This surgery is easy, and the least invasive of all. If you want, it can be reversed! None of the other can! So do if for you not the other people who are knocking you down! If you need anything, please PM me!!

  5. Same here. Nothing in because he said too much fat around stomach. I just got a small fill about 2CC's a few weeks back He did it early because he was going out of town. I get my second with more restriction right after Turkey Day. I can basically eat anything now but I find that I want to still stick with simple mushy stuff with some regular food. Funny I almost became a vegitarian without noticing. I eat Cream Of Wheat, eggs, Cottage cheese, tuna, chicken, Potatoes, turkey meatballs, herring, Smoke Salmon, Whitefish salad and I am actually eating a lean cuisine Chicken Parm right now. Just chew tons when eating solid stuff. I use myfitnesspal to keep track of just about everything I eat. It works great. I was told not to worrry about calories but I dont have tons of restriction to if not careful I could gain. Please keep me updated and I am so happy for you.

  6. Wow some of you eat like nothing!!! Maybe that will happen on next fill.

B- 1 serving of Cream Of Wheat, 1/2 Cup Cottage cheese 2%

Snack- Coscto Protein Shake and or Starbucks Decaf Americano

L- Cup of tuna and Cup Cottage Cheese, Sometimes a 3 egg ommelette with a slice of American Cheese Or Egg salad

D- chicken Breast ( Small) with Low Cal Ranch, Salad, Lean Cusine, I just try to keep under 300 calories for dinner

If I excersise and have room I add some stufff in between

I Log as mush as possible in My fitness pal app

  7. I too have been stalled for a few days. scale staying the same. Today is my first day back to gym. I am very excited. I am not taking in enough Water. I really have to work on that. Its weird, I just don't find my self wanting as much Water as pre-op. That is one thing I am going to change today ( besides the gym). I see so many people with calories this calories that. My DR said stop worrying about that just listen to you stomach. Well right now I dont have much in I am due for a second fill right after turkey day. They didn't put anything in during surgery as they said there was too much fat around the stomach. I had one small fill two week ago. I am down about 32lbs. So I think the next fill will hit the spot. Right now I just have to be careful

Any feedback would be great. My diet consists of mostly Cream Of Wheat, Cottage cheese, eggs, chicken,Herring, liquid Multi Vitamin, Soup and turkey meatballs some cheese. some salad. I can eat anything but I try to est half or a quarter of any serving. I do not order any large meals and tend to stick with healthly alternatives. So I think the excersize and adjustment will kick me into overdrive.

  8. I started using this app and love it. However It is not specifially geared twords WLS patients because there is no specific feature to choose. The most weight loss option is 2lbs per week. So for me it says my daily intake on calories should be 2310. I am on my 4th week getting my first fill today and starting the gym tomorrow. I am finding it hard to hit more than 1700 calories.I eat three meals mostly consiting of Cream Of Wheat, Cottage cheese, tuna Fish,Egg Whites with cheese fruit and some other stuff. I will be starting regular foods but I will stick to these healthy items as staples. I am going to buy poweder for my Protein but also keep my fridge stocked with Coscto Protein shakes in case I need some extra protein. So the app... Its great for counting the calories, carbs, protein and Vitamin intake but I think the calories might be off for WLS people ( 2310 seems very high for me) vs the average Joe.

    Any thoughts?
