  1. This is exactly what I was thnking. Maybe something was damaged down there. I dont know.
  2. Yes I have had my thyroid checked before. A couple of times actually. It is just weird. It didnt do it at first. it just started doing this probably about 2 weeks after my surgery.
  3. Oh I am so glad to know that someone else has this problem too. I just dont understand how you sleep thorugh it. sometimes it is so unbarable I have to sit up. I want to be able to sleep through the night. this really sucks to be honest with you. I hate it.
  4. thank you for your help but honestly I dont think it is GERD. I had extremely bad reflux before the band, so I know the feeling of being woke up by reflux and this feeling. This is a totally different feeling. I just took a nap and woke up with the same feeling again. I feel like something is maybe blocking my airway maybe and thats why i wake up with a horrible headache. I am very worried that it is something serious and my doctors office will not call me back. I really hope it will all go away!
  5. thanks everyone. I actually did drink out of a straw today for the first time and i must admit i think it felt a little uncomfortable. but i WILL try it again just to see if it was just a coincidence. but i do remember that they said it can too much gas.
  6. Nevermind I found another post on here that answers this!
  7. I start my mushy week tomorrow and I was hoping someone could please help and give me some ideas of different things I can eat that are considered mushy. Thanks!
  8. Hello All, I was just banded on Friday Oct 28 and it is now 4 days later and I am STILL having horrible gas pains. I thought I would try and go back to work today but only made it through half of the day because I feel like the gas pains are getting worse. So my question to all of you is, Do you know of any secrets that might get rid of the gas and is it constant or will it go away? because there is no way i can live forever like this. PLEASE HELP! because the walking and Gas X is not helping!

    HORRIBLE GAS PAINS

all this helps but I sure was hoping for someone to tell me about some miracle drink or position or something that would make it slide right out. lol someone did mention doing a Fleet Enema. have yall heard anything about that?
  10. I just thought I would let all of you nice people know that I am back in action. I cancelled my surgery last week as all of you may know but after saying many prayers I woke up on Saturday and realized I had made a terrible mistake. So on Monday I called to see if I could have my surgery date back and I was very lucky that they still had an open spot for me. This time my mind set and thinking is completely different about the whole process. I am so happy all of you helped me think clearly. So my surgery is approximately 38 hours away! I am stoked to start my new life!
  11. You could not have said it better! oh and i love all of the quotes! they are all very inspiring.
  12. I just want to say thank you to ALL of you for your post. It has really made me do some more thinking. (i dont know if that is a good thing or a bad thing lol) I just need to decide what is best for me. I honetly know that WLS will probably end up being the only way for me because i am not dedicated enough to go out and do hours of exercise and strict dieting. just need to make up my mind. thank you all again for the inspiring words.!!
  13. reading all of your post really makes me think i made a bad decision. but here is one thing that i dont know if i could ever change. EATING SLOWLY AND SMALL AMOUNTS. i have always been a fast eater and i dont know that i will be able to suceed at everything i am worried about. like Pasta, i have all different ethnics in my family and we love to eat different food from all around the world and i can not imagine NEVER being able to eat this kind of good food again. can ya'll tell me some of the worst things you have experienced? Maybe the Sleeve will be better for me but not sure what the surgery would be.
  14. well i do think about my health in the future and where i will be being this over weight but i am just soooooooo scared about having complications. i do not have insurance and do not know what i would do if i were to have problems. i am a very skeptical person i know, i always think, WHAT IF i am one of the people that the band just doesnt sit well with me. what if it doesnt work for me and i have to have it taken out and then i have wasted $10,000. i dont know. i just and so confused and scared and anxious on what to do. this is a very hard time for me. not knowing what the best thing to do should be.???

    October Bandsters!!!

Hello Everyone, Well I started my pre-op diet yesterday. I have a surgery date of 10/28/11 and I am having a VERY hard time staying full until dinner time. I do not like the sugar free Jello at all. My question is, are we allowed to have anything else in between lunch and dinner to hold us over?
  16. I am just curious for those of you who have had the surgery at True Results in Houston Texas, after you have your surgery do we have to go back many times like for the post op or any visits afterwards. I live 2 hours away so I am just wondering about how many times I will be looking to drive back and forth after my surgery.
  17. thank you all so much for the advice. My surgery is scheduled for 10/28 and I already have the nervous jitters. I didnt know I would be going once a month after surgery for the first year but the 1 and a half hour drive will be worth it in the end I guess. Good luck in your progress hope to be in your shoes soon!

    October Bandsters!!!

Hello Everyone, I am super excited my surgery date is October 28th. Although I am not too thrilled about this pre op diet I have to do. Obviously I have failed numerous times at diets so I sure to heck hope I can succeed at this one. I just have to think of the prize at the end of the tunnel. Well good luck to everyone and I hope we all stay safe during our journey!
