  1. I was in for a "fill " last week and noticed a Flyer about the Support Group. They meet the last Tuesday of every month, at 6:00pm, in the Lobby of True Results. I emailed someone, and here is her response... looks like a GREAT Topic this month!!!!

    Dear Mr. Branham,

I’m glad that you noticed the flyer for our support group and want to participate. The schedule is being developed and should be ready in the next few weeks. This month (on the last Tuesday of the month) we will have our very popular Protein shake and Protein Bar “tasting”. We are always asked which shakes taste the best. Since everyone has their own preferences we present a variety of the ones we have heard are the tastiest, lowest in carbs and most convenient.

I am forwarding your email address to Betrice White who will add it to our list. I look forward to seeing you here in our 8th floor lobby at 6:00 pm on February 28.

    Sincerely,

    Ida Diamond FNP

  2. LillieB, I know how you feel. I was banded on Oct 21st. But, for the 3 months prior I was working on eating healthy, and watching what I ate. I took it upon myself to work the diet, before even getting the band. I lost 30+ pounds just on diet and pre-op diet alone. Since then I have lost only 13 pounds, and not really sure what is going on. I am drinking 2 Protein Shakes a day (breakfast & lunch) and trying to eat healthy at dinner. But, I have NO restirction and can eat whatever I want, which is why I am not really losing. It is hard to not snack on un-healthy things, or eat more than you should. It is just plain will-power that you need. You can either do it yourself, or wait till you get a couple of fills, and throw up when you eat the wrong things. I know I don't want to be in that situation, but it is hard! :-)

  3. When I started on this jurney pre-op, I had several months to start my diet. I used to never eat Breakfast, only a doughnut (or two) if someone brought them to work. LOL So, I got inot the habit of making a Protein Shake for breakfast, and then during my pre-op diet, I went to having a Protein shake for lunch too... which has just stuck since surgery (2 months+). I never go out to eat anymore, and that keeps me from eating fast food during the day. :-)

  4. I was banded on Friday 10/21, and was wondering about putting anything on the incisions to make them heal better? My Dr. used Dermabond (super-glue), and said to not clean it or rub on it for a couple of days...

Did anyone put some antibioptic on it? Or what? just kinda freaks me out to not put any medication on a wound!! LOL

  5. Hey Amanda,

I am feeling better today... but, still go through bouts during the day of extreme tiredness. Yesterday was my first day back at work, and I only made it till about 3:30, and had to go home. It takes a while to get your strength back!

AS far as the Ready-to-Drin shakes... I bought a bunch of the Cytosport Monster Milk ones. They are 20oz, and have 45g of Protein, sugar/lactose FREE! Got them from Vitamine Shoppe. They have chocolate, banana Creme, and Cookies and Creme. They taste ok....almost all of the Protein drinks are good, till you have to drink them all day long!! LOL

  6. Just came from my first fill at true results, I was an hour late because I had to first go to Dr. Hollis' office. The lady at the front was quick to point out my timing but I let her know that the bay area was a bit of a distance, waited two minutes, was out in 10.

I scheduled my Appt with Dr. Hollis... what does he actually do at his office?

Did you get a fill at TR... how was it? Do we need to keep a list of our Diet for this???

  7. I think calling and talking to them might do the trick... let us know what they say!

Hello Marla, I see you are a Dr. Hollis patient too...

I also go to True Results, call and ask to speak to a nurse ask for Ada and let her know you are concerned in waiting this long for a fill and you would like to be seen asap. they can schedule you in as soon as that same day. I think it's BS that they are making you wait that long, yes you missed your appt, IT happens. GL!

  8. Just venting here ... but I'm a little upset at myself and True Results.

I completely forgot I had my adjustment scheduled for Oct. 19th; so I missed my appt. I called True Results this morning and told them I missed my appt and want to make another one. Well their next available is NOVEMBER 22! I have to wait a complete month before I get my next Fill. I was last filled in Sept. So I just delayed my progress. :(

On another note .. these Fills take about 10 mintues to do.. TOPS .. and I find it hard to imagine that they are completely booked for the next month solid. Well Lesson Learned .. Never miss an appt at True Results or you will be Screwed!!!!!

Bashy, I had my surgery on 10/21... so I haven't yet made to a fill. But, thanks for the info on "missing" an appointment. I can understand your frustration, but I can also understand their side of it too. Just let it go, and continue on with your weight loss goals... keep your eye on the prize! :-)

  9. I have found that most of the Protein shakes mixed with Water, are pretty nasty!! I have found that they sell Almond Milk which is UNSWEETENED, and use that to make your Protein Shakes. Gives it a milk consistency without the lactose and sugar.

As far as the actual Protein powders, I use the Syntrax nectar (comes in about 15 different flavors), and the Body Fortress whey Protein from Walmart (the Peanut Butter Chocalate is GREAT!).

I have also bouoght some of the Ready To Drink versions like Muscle Milk Light, and Monster Milk... they are pretty good, lots of protein... but kind of expensive compared to the powders.
