    Sex

Yup. It's funny...thinking to yourself... "we can't do that...or my leg isn't going to do that..." then...oh wait...it is doing that...we are doing that!! LOL!!
  3. I'm 2 months and 6 days and my tummy doesn't like food in the morning so I almost always have an 8 oz protein shake. A couple mornings I was more hungry and I could eat 1/2 piece of ww toast and 2 pieces of turkey sausage or the inside of 1/2 a breakfast burrito....and then I was too full LOL
  4. Hey sweetie, you know I'm here if you need anything...I mean that. I have been seeing a therapist every 2 week's since a month pre-op. She is helping me deal with the roller coaster of feelings and helping me resolve my issues with food. I HIGHLY recommend having someone completely unbiased to talk to. ((Hugs)) hang in there!
  5. LMAO! The gain NO one complains about.
  6. Wow you look great! What awesome results you've gotten so far and you said you aren't even done! You are just BEAMING in your after photos. Your shoulder tattoo is gorgeous by the way. I can't decide between a phoenix and a peacock for my shoulder as my goal tattoo. :-)

    Ladies... Facial Hair?

Part of being an obese woman is too many hormones that could cause more hair growth so theoretically it should get better once we lose significantly. Theoretically. LOL

    Small Success For Me!

Small success?! That is a big success! Be proud of your accomplishment, honey. Congrats!
  10. You look great!! Thanks for sharing with us and a big congrats. I hope you're proud of your success so far.
  11. I will say, it isn't only the surgery that changed this. I am seeing a therapist because I know most of my issues were mental and emotional. She has been very important in my success so far. :-)
  12. So, I hit 50 lbs lost (YAY!!) and I started to think of how this would typically be the point where I'd fall off that metaphorical wagon of dieting. At this point, your clothes are hanging off and people are more than likely noticing that you're losing weight. Before, having people notice would scare the CRAP out of me. I felt like OMG, the pressure is on to keep losing because they expect it. Unfortunately, when I'm feeling pressured/anxious/scared/etc, I turn to food....cue falling off the wagon and gaining the weight back. Lather, rinse, repeat. It is SO NICE not having to worry about that this time around. Instead of being afraid or scared I'm hopeful and looking forward to the next 50 and the next 50 after that. A few people have noticed and it feels so good to accept the compliment and not internalize the pressure and freak myself out. I take the compliment and move on with my day with a big smile. I have never been able to do that before. It feels FABULOUS!!
  13. I think some of it is just human nature. You have to amplify the bad of the other choices to help the choice you made more valid in your eyes. The RNY and band weren't for me but I wish those who have them all of the luck in the world. Some people do get really nasty about it, but I just ignore. You're right, we all did surgery to make our lives better and that's what really matters in the end.
  14. Wow you've done an amazing job so far! I'm so sorry for the loss of your sister, how horrible. I bet she's smiling down on you now. I wish you the best of luck as you continue on your journey. And by the way, now I'm humming Ice Cube. LOL

    Can You Eat Red Meat?

I eat red meat fine as long as it is moist. I can actually tolerate it better than a drier piece of chicken breast. I went to a wedding recently and ate half a filet mignon and it was awesome. One bite of the chicken breast and I got that stuck feeling.
  16. Aww...poor thing has probably tried flirting with him and got nowhere. tsk tsk
  17. Officially down 50! Woop woop! LOL

  18. I went to my seminar in November of 2011 and was sleeved in September 2012...so nearly a year. The first few months were spent with a lifestyle medicine nurse practitioner making sure I was ready to make this commitment and changing my mind from band to sleeve (SO thankful for her doing that!!). It seems like a long time (and while in it I got VERY antsy), but hindsight being 20/20, I'm thankful for all of those hoops and classes because I really do feel like I was well prepared for the huge change this surgery brings.
  19. Well, howyoudoin?! LOL (J/K) Keep up the great work, lookin' good!! :-)
  20. I was told to walk as much as possible immediately and did (it helps tremendously with the gas). Lifting over 10 pounds or any strenuous movement (jumping, etc) was 6 weeks. I was hard headed and started before 6 weeks and reopened a stitch. Don't be hard headed! LOL
  21. I've heard this as well. That said, I think making sure you do it, period, is more important than finding the "perfect" time to. Morning, noon, night...just burn those calories off!
  22. Hey guys! Ok I need a little guidance with this. I am doing the gym 3-4 days a week and I love it so far. 2 days are cardio and 2 are strength...each session 60 minutes. Today during my strength training I got dizzy at around minute 35 or so and I just struggled overall to get through the class. I know it's likely I had too much time between a meal/snack and the class but I struggle on what to have before working out that isn't too heavy (makes me nauseous especially dairy) but will help me get through the workout. I make sure to have lean Protein or a shake immediately after the session for recovery. I'm drinking at least 32 oz of Water while exercising too...so that isn't the issue (i don't think). How are you eating on workout days? Or do you not change your routine? When I asked my NUT she said I didn't need to change my routine. Erm...ok...my body disagrees. LOL Thoughts?
  23. I was very pleasantly surprised by how little pain I was in after surgery. I made liberal use of the pain pump the first two days in the hospital but once I got home (day 3) I didn't use anything at all. I was totally fine.

    Very Nasty

bleeding/blood = DR or ER for me Did you have this problem while in the hospital at all? Most hospitals will not let you leave if you aren't able to swallow liquid.
