  1. I LOVE THIS BOARD!!!! I know about the finger pointing and yelling and just down right meanness of some of the other boards. I read a post once that made me want to "Matrix" to another individual and kick the h#ll out of them. This one person needed help and then some sanctimonious bandster gave them the third degree...Needless to say I have not been back to that board! I POST here for the advice and the support. I READ elsewhere just to see what else is out there being discussed...oh yeah...did I mention I love this board??!!?? Birdee:D
  2. I am right there with you.....unfortunately I don't know the answer. So I'll hang out and wait....... Birdee:)
  3. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I am happy for you!!!!!:laugh
  4. I agree with GeezerSue! When you don't eat enough you metabolism slows down and you won't loose as quickly! I struggle with eating too. I am slowly but surley figuring that I am not loosing weight, because I don't eat enough! I try, but it's so hard! Maybe try Protein shakes...that may help?!? Birdee
  5. You look FABULOUS!!!!!! Oh and you are not wide!!!!!!!! Birdee
  6. My PA told me that you are more tight in the morning because of the stomach being a muscle that has been "idle" all night. One thing that I noticed about the band and myself is that I can eat A WHOLE LOT MORE if I have a drink or two. I think the alcohol relaxes you, and your stomach as well. But like the saying goes, this is my experience, we are all different. Birdee!
  7. I was able to slup down a slurpee just fine! Not doing so well with soda's though! Birdee

    You look FABULOUS!!!!!!! Congrats!!!!! Birdee
  9. My surgeon required that up front. DON'T worry! I had bumps along the way to. I think that's just fates way of testing us! You'll be fine! Birdee
  10. I agree. NEW PICTURE!! NEW PICTURE!!!!.....we'll wait! Birdee

Ginny- I can relate to what you are going through....or at least I did. After surgery I pretty much felt normal, I had an appetite, hunger pains, etc. After a couple of fills you will notice a big difference in you appetite and hunger pains. I have read so many times that weight loss pre fill stage is gravy! And that's so true. I actually gained weight after my first fill. I think we all go through the the anxiety of the unknow. Even now I have fears of the surgery not working for me. You are not alone. Once you start getting your adjustments you will be able to "feel" the band doing it's job! Promise! Birdee
  12. I went into fitday and checked out the options to customize. Thanks so much!!!!! PS I am going to try to eat another chicken finger!!!
  13. Thanks Donali!!! Somedays I eat more than that, but somedays not. My restriction fluctuates. I will do my best to get more in, but it's like once I feel that tightness in my chest, I am done. I never know how much I eat. For instance if it's a salad. I pick out what I can eat, so there is not a sure way to say how much I am eating. I never starve myself. If I am so tight that I can't keep anything down, I will indulge in ice cream. Not a healthy choice I know, but by the time I resort to it I am so frustrated that I want something to eat that's easy. I am going to do better about my eating habits. I think Fitday will help me keep things in perspective. Birdee
  14. THANKS!!! I have already acted on the first suggestion! FITDAY! I'll start on the Water and walking tomorrow. I guess I struggle with the band being internal, not being able to see it and look at it to be sure it's working. Kinda strange I know! Thanks again! Birdee
  15. How in the world do you add your foods into fitday when you only eat a couple of bites? For instance for Breakfast I had Less than half a slice of pineapple with 2 teaspoons of cottage cheese. For lunch I has 1 and a 1/2 chicken tender??? If you use fit day, please let me know how you customize for those really tight days? Thanks
  16. Where to start......I have been banded since 7/22/03. I have lost 40 pounds so far. I had several issues after I was banded. I was drinking and eating. Eating fast food all the time! Well I slowly but surley got over it. I am now up to 3.4cc's. I was adjusted about 3 weeks ago and have only lost 4 pounds. I know this sounds silly, but I don't drink Water that much at all. The last time I challenged myself to the 8 glasses, I lost all of my restriction. I was so afraid that I had ruined my band. Well the next morning, I realized that it was temporary. Well I think I am an obsessive eater, so I don't ever want to loose restriction again. I am afraid that I may eat things that I shouldn't. I really don't exercise at all. (I can imagine what you all are thinking). As of now, I barely eat and my hair is shedding more than ever. I guess I am confused! Even if the weightloss is slow because of my behaviour, I can understand that, but I should at least be loosing 1 pound a week. The summer is coming and I feel as though I should be at my goal weight by now. I am happy, but I just feel like I am going to fall in the precentile that doesn't loose that much weight. I am scared. I need some opinions. Should I get adjusted again? What can I do to boost my metabolism? I am really lost as to what to do. Thanks for listening(reading) Birdee:(

You look awesome! You've come a long way!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! Thanks for sharing!!! Birdee
  18. Hello! I only experience the nausea & vomiting when I eat too fast. It's not vomit like you would think. As far as bread and carbinated drinks...well for me it was gradual. At first I could eat/drink it. By the 2nd of 3rd adjustment is was over. But the funny thing about it is, I really don't miss that stuff like I thought I would. Don't get me wrong I WANT A SANDWICH, but it's not worth the pain and PBing that I would experience eating it. No matter what I have gone through, I would not go back!!!!!! Hope I've answered your questions!
  19. WOW IS RIGHT!!!! Congrats!!!! You spend so much of time educating and encouraging.....now it's your turn!!!!!
  20. I think the harderst things for me would be the golfball, and the "my stomachs full but my mouth wants more", going out to lunch around people that don't know that I am banded. I always wonder if they think that I am starving myself. But at the end of the day I wouldn't trade my band for a million bucks....well yeah I would, because I'd have enough money to buy another one!!!!!! Birdee
  21. WELCOME!!!!!! I won't go into a long drawn out post, but I will tell you that this (being banded) has been the best decision that I have made in my life. I finally found something that works!!!! I am not as active on this site as I would like to be, but, I will tell you that the "folks" here are awesome and so willing to share their experiences as well as give GREAT advice! So Welcome and make yourself at home!!!! Birdee:D
  22. WELCOME!!!! I must admit that this was the best thing that I could have done!!!! Birdee

  25. WELCOME TAMMY!!! I know exactly what you are saying!!! I guess since we see ourselves everyday, it's hard to see the pounds that we've shed. Congratulations on you 60 pounds that is awesome......That is a lot of weight....that's 12 5 pound bags of sugar!!!!!!!!! Birdee
