Over the last few years I have done nothing but constantly gain weight.  It literally comes out of nowhere.  I have always been really good at carrying my weight and I have been ok with it.  I would go up and come down and this has been the norm. But lately it just keeps going up and up and FAST!!  I've watched what I eat (and not just watch it go in my mouth lol), I've joined 2 gyms, had a personal trainer, tried diet pills and nothing worked. I decided to seriously consider surgery.  I am getting depressed behind the weight gain and I dont want to go out anymore, I hate shopping, my ankles and feet always hurt, and hell my C Pap machine doesnt even seem to work correctly. I used to be very active and now things have come to a real standstill.  I looked around for a doctor in my area and I came up with Dr. Sadek in Somerset, NJ. I have only met with him once and I am not sure he will end up doing my surgery.  Our meeting only lasted 10 minutes, we were interupted by his cell phone 3 times, and I knew going in that I wanted the Lap Band, and immediately he started trying to sale me on the sleeve surgery.  I went home and researched the sleeve and it sounded as if this was not for me.  Im not that heavy that I need to do the sleeve surgery just so I can have another surgery. And I just felt like he rushed through our intial meeting.  He even went so far as to tell me he can do the surgery in Jan 2012.  I read the blogs and I see how people get their hopes up and then are let down really bad when the insurance company says NO! I dont want that to be me.  So I will go to the next appt and see what happens.  If I am still not happy I will start the hunt over again. I cant see myself letting someone who is not interested in what I have to say and what I want doing surgery on me just to make a quick buck.
